I still have a bit of a gut, but the right outfit hides it pretty well now.
I haven't looked this acceptable in a dress since the 8th grade (I happen to still have my 8th grade dress in the closet, and it more-or-less fit when I tried it on a few weeks ago).
Non-outfit related nsv, I've started walking a bit again, and it seems to be helping take the edge off of my crippling depression.
Well done - you look really elegant in that dress! Must be such a good feeling. It's also (and equally) great that you have started walking. I know how much getting out into the open and moving more can lift the mood and create a positive attitude. If you have any walking groups near you and you feel ready they can provide a way to enjoy your walks more. Keep up the great job.4 -
I'm 23 days into my diet, increased activity (more steps during the day) and two or three days week a more increased physical activity. but over the past few days, shirts and pants feel a tad bit looser and the belt can move up a notch.
My goal is to drop 150 in 2 years...... by May/June 2020.25 -
We got 2 dozen donuts delivered to my office from the best donut place in town and I genuinely had no problem turning them down, in part because my smallest pants and my fitted shirt that I'm wearing for the first time since 2015 (when I was 5 lb lighter than now) look really good today.
I am by no means a "no donuts" or "no treats" person. At all. But this was still cool.30 -
Went to the doctor's office yesterday and the nurse went to weigh me. She started the scale with the presumption I was under 100 pounds (really 114-ish). Thank you strength training.23

I went to my first conference over the weekend. Monday I was straight back into the gym, didn’t have to think about it15

Mixed victory and oops...
I am exercising effectively enough to have some recomp going on and the shorts I bought at goal are getting loose. I don't want to have to buy more; I pretty much fully outfitted myself at goal. They are at the point where I would have to keep pulling them up all day without a belt, so I am wearing a belt.17 -
Cleaned out the local thrift stores of 36" waist pants and shorts. Down from tight 38" pants.22

I can fit into my planned post-surgery pants. Size 6 jeans. It's not pretty, but I can get them on, completely buttoned (button fly). When I originally started 3 years ago I was barely sqeezing into 3X pants bought at Torrid.33

Ran 4 miles today! I've been stopping after 3.25 because that's all I "needed" for a 5k. Realized I can run further if I really want to. New goal is a 10k next spring.34

I took a beginner's pole fitness class for the first time yesterday, and I was *not* feeling confident. I've been stagnating on my weight training and wasn't feeling especially strong that afternoon. Imagine my surprise when I took to it like a duckling takes to water - I guess all those hours on the weights and in yoga gave me the foundation of strength, balance, and control that you need to maneuver on a pole. At the end of the class, I climbed all the way up on my first try! I felt like a million bucks!31

keeping up with my long legged friends during walks, without huffing and puffing23

I went to tighten my belt and was frustrated I couldn't find the last notch, then realized that was the last one. Lol38

Did NOT have a good day food-wise. Instead of giving in to the voice in my head telling me to give up on the day and start again tomorrow, I met my step goal AND got in a workout. No matter how much I end up being in the negative on calories, it's better than it would have been if I gave up.40

Thanks for making me realize my NSV! Went to a picnic yesterday, mindlessly munched on a bunch of stuff I didn't need or really even want. However, I made the smarter choice with my bf and we got only one take-away food serving and split it for dinner (still needed to eat a proper meal), instead of getting one for each of us. Also, walked home from the subway station instead of just waiting for the next bus. Today, I'm trying not to mull over letting myself make stupid choices without thinking them, and focus on getting a good dinner and workout in today.27 -
Walked by the full length mirror and didn't recognize the slim muscular legs attached to me.31

Went to a take-out restaurant that had a monitor with the camera at the front door, which meant I could see my back on the monitor. Thought, "Wow, your 56 year old self looks pretty good from the back."32

Keep up the walking. It's as good for the mind and the soul as it is for the body, in my experience.
