KateUK - love your colorful back yard! Isn't it nice to be able to hang wash outside?
Allie - Happy Birthday!
Kim - what a sweet deal getting the smaller embroidery orders! Happy for you!
Barbara AHMOD - enjoy your bike ride with Joe! Many years ago, my DH and I would get on our bikes and ride in the country - just pleasure ride, we weren't Machka and her DH by any means. And our route was fairly flat around a little lake and not much traffic.
Janetr - you look fabulous. Enjoy the wedding!
Carol - sorry for the long wait at the Ortho's office. I think waiting beyond 15 minutes -- they should not charge for the appointment, lol. Hope the shots give you some relief!
KateUK, Janetr, and Mary - what a testament to the kettle bell workouts! You ladies rock!
Machka - crossing fingers that your DH being back in familiar surroundings will speed his healing.
Heather - what a cute place!
Lisa - so glad you took the step to really check the property lines and easements and such. And, glad everything is working out. 11 acres is neat - big wood lot and places to explore - we have a 5 acre parcel we bought several years ago in anticipation of some day building. After we bought it we did a walk thru and found a cast iron bath tub peeking out from under the ferns, lol. You never know! But fun to see the wildlife paths.
Katla - I checked out Karen in VA's CBD source "Bluebird Botanicals" and they have smaller bottles at a good price, plus it's made specifically for pets. Thanks Karen for the dosage suggestions. Last night I put 2 drops of CBD oil (free sample from health food store) on Sophie's supper and she ate it right down - no fireworks noise so wasn't able to determine if it would help her anxiety.
Rebecca - you are so kind in continuing to reach out to middle sister - I would have given up long ago. I'm glad I still have a good - tho sparse - relationship with my siblings. Perhaps if we lived in the same town or region, it wouldn't be so amicable, lol.
Taking old Sophie - 10 1/2 - to vet this morning for her dental exam. Since we're now feeding three times a day and changed food, it looks to me like the tartar is a lot worse. After the exam, we'll get her scheduled for the cleaning. Before we got the puppy, I left her food out free choice and she'd eat when she was hungry. Now with the little chowhound around and on a diet, we're breaking up the feedings from twice to three times and adding cabbage and other veggies.
Pup Rosie has lost 1/2 pound in the past month, another 1/2 or so to go. She loves her morning walks.
OK ladies, I need to get out and pump iron.
Those if you on the prairies, Midwest and upper east coast ---- stay cool! Holy smokes I just looked at your weather report. Yikes.

Speaking of cars - Yesterday I got a visit from a Deputy Sheriff and he told me that a RAV had been abandoned in Bainbridge for 5 days and that the title was in the Name of LRA, I told him it was a car that my son had and invited him in and called son - went straight to voicemail; then tried DH and also went to voicemail. He asked if I knew the people in the trailer next door, sure that is my son. While trying to find out about how he could reach him the dispatcher called and said they had already found the owner (my son). Actually what had happened is they were 'basically' given the car for Madison about the time Trey bought a car; Jenn took over the 'newer' care and then they sold the RAV to the son of one of Jenn's uncles for $700; and then put Trey's name on the title as the lienholder. The kid only paid a little of the $$$ (which Trey and Jenn were planning on something). So Jenn called her uncle and told him what his son had done and since they had borrowed $$$ from her mother, she felt like he need to pay her because she was even more in need of the money. Come to find out this kid had let the oil run out; and that was why it was abandoned. Then to make matters worse, this kid had gotten insurance in Trey's name ... how he did that Heaven only knows. He called the kid and told him that he needed to pick up the car before the Sheriff's Office picks it up and charges Trey for the costs involved. If not, Trey will have to go down there to pick it up. The Sheriff's Department will 'sell it' if they pick it up and no telling what else they will charge Trey for. The biggest mistake he made was that he 'thought' putting his name as lienholder and not giving him a 'sale to him note' was proof enough that he did not own the car; but, that he was the lienholder. Not knowing that he should have 'filed' it with the Dept. of Transportation so that if something happend - such as it being wrecked the insurance company would pay Trey instead of this kid. Louis was pissed because all of this was Jenn's idea. $#*T - she already thinks 'she knows it all' and does things for her family and then wonders why things turn to $#*T. Her uncle had paid off the balance of the car; and actually Trey should have given him the title when he paid off the money they owed his MnL so she could have turned around and sold it. The fact that this kid got insurance in Trey's name just isn't right. The kid 'owned' the car - but, like anything the lienholder keeps the car until the owner paids it off. This kid is about as sorry as they come. Then Trey got mad at Jenn about it, and that is when the fight started. I hope she does not moan and groan about it to her 'half-sister and brother-in-law'. The BnL was supposed to clean the pool and put a new pump on it; but, hasn't. He cleaned a pool he had put in for a lady and just before he left she handed him the light and asked if he could put it in. So ... when he put it in, it exploded and ruined the liner - so he had to redo the previous installation meaning he had to start over - did not make any money on that job. He was pretty upset. I asked Trey when he was going to come get the spa and he said, 'not until he installs the new pump and cleans out the liner and gets it up and running. I asked Trey if they were going to go ahead and get a salt water pump; but, he said 'no, it would be too expensive'. The guy has already told him that next year they needed to replace the liner and let him dig it out deeper and make sure there aren't any rocks under it and that it is level. I don't remember who put it in, in the first place. I don't think it was his step-BnL because at the time he was doing it full time and it needed to be moved from another sister/brother-in-law and set up immediately. Poor Trey doesn't seem he can win for losing. I miss the pool and really hope it will be finished this year while it is warm enough to get in it so I can exercise. I got up on the treadmill and walked for 10 minutes before I got tired and sleepy again. I have slept 7 hours every night for the past 3 nights with my Cpap staying on. But, so far, I am still sleep during the day.
I'm feeling better and adding 'real food' to my diet. Still eating pudding every hour or so. Now it is time for me to decide what to eat that won't kill my appetite as we are going to Emilee's birthday party.

Tracey - won't link it, but it's eggshome, with the www in front of it and the dot com after. Again, for the moderators, not making any money off it, just chronicling this journey toward home ownership, hopefully the final one.
Didn't wake up until 6:30 a.m. this morning after my insomniac evening, but slept well while I was in bed. Just kind of rustling around shifting my usual tabletop clutter into less obvious places, and making sure I have blankets, etc., for guests if they stay.
Love y'all,

Lanette. "Janetr - you look fabulous. Enjoy the wedding!"
Thank you. That pic was from going to dinner for Jack's birthday. The wedding is a week from today and I'll wear dress.

Machka, how wonderful that your hubby is coming home! This will definitely make your life much easier and probably speed up his recovery! Much more relaxing atmosphere than the hospital for sure!
Rebecca, unfortunate that your sister is being a pill...
That's as far as I got today! At work again and my boss actually wants me to do work stuff, go figure....
Hope everyone has a great day!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALLIE !!!!!!!!!
My friend's son has flown back from South Korea to look after her. She is being allowed home as she has demonstrated enough prowess on stairs with her crutches and he will be there. She said not to visit until next week as she is exhausted. They had to cut right up the foot to the ankle to find the end of the ligament. Ouch!
My brother has asked me to speak at his "renewal of vows " ceremony on the 14th. I guess it is an honour. I was a witness for their wedding. I am ambivalent because I don't really agree with the whole idea. A vow is a vow.
Oh well. I will speak a bit in what I hope is a light and humorous vein and then read my favourite poem about a relationship - US TWO, from NOW WE ARE SIX. It's about Pooh and Christopher Robin. He said that would be ok. I read it at my son's wedding and DH's 70th. When Edie, aged 2, heard the word "poo" she started to take her trousers and knickers off in the middle of the room! Funniest thing ever!
They are having a party after the church. My son is coming to the church and party and bringing Edie and Max. I hope she won't do the same thing again this time, aged 4.
I do remember I was very unhappy at the time of their wedding. Divorced, overweight and just broken up with a boyfriend. I wore the most dismal, figure disguising clothes. How times change.
DH watching the world cup.

wildrosedragon wrote: »Morning everyone, new around these parts. Didn't have any hard goals in May but did reach some soft ones, so am happy with that. I have 8 lbs left on reaching my 1st major goal of loosing 64 lbs, way ahead of schedule. So going to set it for my June goal. Another June goal is to finish moving out of upstairs and complete moving in downstairs. I have a split entry house and I am moving to basement (ground floor), daughter and grandson are moving in upstairs. This is all part of my plot to help her while helping me. Gives them a 2 bedroom apartment for more than half of what the market is going for and allows me to downsize. So right now everything is in chaos but slowly getting it done. Once I get all my stuff downstairs I can start painting my rooms and get settled.
June Goals
hit goal of 299
finish moving to basement

Last day of month and didn't make it to 299 but have made it to 305, so a bit closer. I did get moved into the basement, thanks to my daughter and her boyfriend. There was no way for me to actually get it done all by myself, but thankfully they stepped in and got it done for me. Now I can officially start painting. Although not this weekend, because tomorrow we are driving to Vancouver Wa, for my granddaughters 3rd birthday. At first the plan was to eat whatever but I'm so close so I'm going prepared. It will be a BBQ, so I will plan for that. Take a snack or two and water. Digging through garage for a cooler to put stuff in.
My love still hasn't been transferred to work release as we had thought would happen in June. He called last night to cheer me on, it will happen when it happens, D.O.C works on their time schedule and no use trying to guess when that will be. So maybe sometime in July. I can only focus on what I can control and currently that is my way of eating and me. Here is to July and getting closer to goal of 299 or surpassing it.

Hello from Boston! Visited John Adams park and have included a pic of Peacefield the home where John and Abigail retired. Lisa you’ll love this, she bought it sight unseen not realizing it was completely ruined during revolutionary war (she was abroad at the time). When she returned home she got her first look at it—seeing it in ruins she fell to her knees and cried (oh no not another fixer upper!). Anyway she rolled up her sleeves, added onto the house and planted roses in the back-one plant is still growing (no visible flowers though- sorry Margaret).
The wing chair is the actual chair John Adams had a stroke in right before he died in his favorite room, the study of course.

Hello, Gorgeous Girls!
Hey there from Texas... I am still breathing over here... still doing my thing - and I miss you guys.
I keep up with some of you on the newsfeed - but,, alas, I miss a lot there. So, while I have a spare moment to breathe, I thought I would drop in.
This year, we are gardening - I had half of the cutest little watermelon you have ever seen for breakfast - as ripe and sweet as any you have ever tasted. The whole thing was the size of a softball. Later on, I will go out and harvest some regular and some lemon cucumbers.
We have been cooking with a variety of fresh peppers - Santa Fe, Cubanelle, Anaheim... Peppers like it here and don't seem to suffer from the heat, at all. Alas, you can't overwater zuccini and other squash plants. All of those died, due to the abnormally rainy weather we are having.
The drip watering system has only one drawback: you can't really customize according to the plant, much... you can only hope that number of minutes and times that it drips works for everything. There are some drippers that drip more or less - but I would have to re-work the whole system and replace ALL the drippers to get the kind of variation I need. The squash need about a quarter of the water that peppers and tomatoes need... so, next year, or maybe for a fall crop, I will switch out the bulk of the drippers for 2 gallon ones, and leave the squash with half gallon size... then I can turn the drip time way down on everything and it should save the squash.
But, we salvaged what squash we could before the last of the plants went down - and had a feast of grilled vegetables - including squash, eggplant and peppers from out garden. I brush some olive oil on, season liberally and lay them over a charcoal grill to cook them. Awesomeness!
I spent several days putting up a support system for bird netting, this year, and it appears that this weekend will also see the first harvest from our tomato plants - ever. I have grown tomatoes in the past - along with red bell peppers, the Mockingbirds seem to have an issue with them. Anything showing the first signs of red gets pecked to death... so this year, I decided the birds were NOT going to get the best of me. It looks like my first tomato will be picked, today, along with the cucumbers. I have my cottage cheese ranch dip all ready! I am excited.
I really like the fact that I get excited about fresh veggies, rather than pie or cake, now... lol.
Work is still work, and I am still at the bank, although my job duties seem to fluctuate quarterly. I am fine with that - so long as I keep getting paid, they can have me clean the darned bathrooms, for all I care. But, the worry about being laid off is constant... it never quite goes away. I will just keep on doing the best work I can and hope for the best.
I have been working with a personal trainer - since January - and I actually did a short set (4) of dead lifts at 135 - which was my first goal. Onward to 175! Although, I am sad that my trainer is giving it up for a full time position as front desk manager at the gym, so, now I have to find someone else who is smart and capable and can take my jovial bitching with aplomb.
Camryn has given me a couple of folks that she says would be good - and we are going to do joint sessions with them over the next week or so to get a feel for each other. I just hope that one of them will click. I certainly don't want anybody who is going to give me the "granny" version of working out, or try to steer me toward less strenuous things because I am a chick. I really hope that I can find someone who will push me, but not injure me... as Camryn has done. I must say, I have learned to LOATHE the boat pose - but it does what it was meant to do.
The hubby is well - and is actively working toward losing weight - although not in the same way that I do. He is all about just trying to eat less (without actually logging) and exercise more - including 16 miles a day on the stationary bike. He has one at home, so that he can make sure to get his miles in, even when our schedules are crazy. Me, I am happy to get in 30-40 minutes of cardio a day and keep my strength training up. I am sort of in a maintenance zone, right now - but, I am good with that, somewhat. I am thinking it's time to pull myself back together for a slightly more concerted effort to make progress - but, I am not quite there, today.
Just trying to hold my ground and not get discouraged by the way my body behaves. The Puffy Princess is currently in residence - I am showing about five pounds up on the scale from the last recorded weight of 175 - but, the Royal Pain comes and goes as she pleases - so I try not to take it personally. For now, I am content in my size 14 tunic - the leggings are 12/14 - and if I never get any smaller, so be it. It's SOOO much better than size 5X.
Happy Birthday, Allie!
Hugs, Becca - I totally feel your Sister drama. I have some of that, myself.
Carol - sorry the gel shots didn't work for you... I am thinking I am going to have to go in and get a new round - it has been about a year, now - and my knees, also bone on bone, are starting to protest, again. Glad the cortisone gives you some relief.
Kitty - I have been where you are. You really have got this... You will make it to 299 and then 199. I have faith.
Hugs and Love to all!

Poor DD. After the truck incident yesterday today we were repairing fence and putting up some t-posts. She lifted the driver too high and it came back and hit her on the head. She has a really big goose egg but I took her to Acute care and they checked her out and did x-rays. No concussion or cracked skull thank goodness but this has not been a good week for her. Rain this afternoon and the puppy is going stircrazy.
Allie - Happy, happy birthday!!!
Machka - Glad your DH is able to come home.
Kim - Yeah for increased business.
Re - Missed you. come back again soon.
Everyone take care, Sue in WA5 -
RE- so thrilled you popped in to see us! Thank you for the update and yes, you look tres chic!! Sounds like your garden is doing great - I am jealous as you are at least 2 months ahead of us.
NYKaren - you get to see the neatest places, I love the old history like that.
RVRita - are you going to post a photo of you in Winslow, AZ? Maybe you already did and I missed it, lol.
Sophie's vet visit went well, she's in great shape for her dental on July 12th. Only a couple teeth need to come out and that's because of receding gums - trying to avoid future trouble. She'll still be able to chew hard kibble since her back grinders will remain and canines as well. She gained .4 lbs.... after being on a "diet" for 6 weeks. Doc said she wasn't overweight and we agreed it must be muscle from all the exercise she's getting, lol.
We also talked about CBD. He said one of the vets in his clinic knows a lot about it and works with clients. Told him what I was doing for Sophie with the couple drops of CBD for fireworks anxiety and he said it sounded fine -- THC can be tricky for the pupsters but I'm not giving her any of that. We did have a brief conversation about utilizing actual medical cannabis blends if she ended up with something that needed to be monitored closely like seizures or cancer - glad I have a vet that's savvy like that.
She ate her 2 drops of CBD on supper just fine so I'm anxious for the fireworks to start so we can test it!
Have a cool evening ladies!
