Does This Uterus Make My Stomach Look Fat?

Since I can't flex my abs at the moment due to recent surgery, I'm going to add my arms. So, do my relaxed triceps make my arms look fat??? 😋 I also ajusted the lighting a bit.

Ha, now I want to take a plank picture
My husband says he likes my belly pooch because it's another curve to love on. Although he's my husband so he has to be nice19 -

I haven't had a c-section, but I do have the belly "dog jowls" after five pregnancies. It has significantly improved over time and the flaps of skin have become thinner from weight loss. What my future stomach would look like after all my pregnancies was one of the first things I wondered about when I first started losing weight and it's so hard to find realistic photos of moms after weight loss. Super frustrating.
I love your pics! Thank you for sharing. My tummy is very similar. Have you ever heard of The Shape of a Mother? I won't link here since some of it is NSFW, but the site is the same as the name It's full of stories and pictures from real women.
I haven't seen it before but I will check it out! Thank you!1 -
This thread has just about brought me to tears. Thank you, each and every one of you that shared. You all are more real to me than any person I can see online and it makes my heart happy to know that these are REAL, BEAUTIFUL women that I look up to very much! I am very far away from any pics, but I greatly appreciate the sharing.32

Bwahaha!!! I just took a pic of my plank belly last night and now all I can see is The Scream.
Yep that’s what mine is like - glad I’ve given you a giggle! You will never look at that plank belly the same way again
Anyone else pulling up their shirt and planking at their desk to see if they can make a 'scream'? No? Just me? Damn.
update: hmmm, need to get closer to healthy BMI. Right now it's more of a still life of watermelon.33 -

These plank poses are killing me.14 -
This is a rhetorical question, because I don't want to derail the goodness, but I wonder why the ultra-flat belly is deemed "perfect": It's both desexualizing (IRL we gots uterii, yay us!) yet often presented in a somewhat sexualized context. Is it that cultural "little girls are sexier than scary grown-up women" thing, or what?
Whatever happened to Song of Solomon's "Your navel is like a round goblet, which wants not liquor: your belly is like an heap of wheat set about with lilies."? (American King James version, if anyone cares.)
At first I was going to agree with you that it had something to do with the procreational drive to pick young healthy mates. But I don’t really think that’s it, because studies have shown men are actually more drawn to curves for that same reason. I think we did this to ourselves. I don’t think we can blame men for this. Unless maybe it had to do with clothing designers looking for “clothes hangers” for their designs. And with the spread of photography and magazine publications those images were all the sudden being seen by the wider population of women. Not really sure...but I’m fairly certain men don’t care for the most part. Women do.
Also, I adore Song of Solomon. What a moving piece of poetry. Hot too. 🔥31 -
Everyone else's planks are so symmetrical! Mine is all messed up thanks to having my appendix out. It looks like some sculpture or something13

I also LOVE LOVE LOVE this thread!!! I’ve gained a few pounds the past few months, so I’m not willing to post a photo at the moment but I am working on losing the weight and seeing my abs again. Thank you to all of the ladies who are secure enough to post photos.8

What an amazing thread! I have a flatter tummy time of the month. It is for a few days after my period has ended. Right now I am about 1-2 days pre-period and it is when I am most bloated. I just took a few pics. I will try to remember in a week/week and a half to snap some of the flattest time of the month.
I am 44 years old. No babies. My BMI is around 21.7. I have been lifting weights for a few years and also do some light cardio.

Thank you everyone for the praise, I feel very humble and overawed right now.
For those women who are tempted, but shy, don't think they are 'there' yet, please consider posting.
The beauty of this thread is that it isn't about beauty, it is about real life women's stomachs, with or without a uterus. (Shar-pei, or 'scream').
We have all worked to get where we are today, and are working on where we want to be in the future, and everyone's pictures have value to help others see they are not alone.
Perfection is seldom obtained, and not required.
Much love and admiration to all,
Cheers, h.46 -
Ok I'll play! This thread is too awesome not to. Here's one for the ladies who haven't quite made it to the gym yet I've lost 40 pounds since last August through mostly diet alone. My all time high non-pregnant was about 205. High school weight was a healthy 135.
Age: 39 (no, really!)
BMI or Height/Weight/Bone Structure: 24.9, 5'4 - 145 pounds, medium frame
BF%: 30+
Number of Pregnancies: 2
Medical Conditions affecting appearance: 2 C-sections, if that counts, laproscopic appendectomy (lovely bellybutton scar)
Primary form of exercise: Some days I walk...
Number of years doing aforementioned exercise: Yeah...
Squishy and relaxed posture:
Just squishy:
Yes, I have a muffin top in athletic shorts and stretch marks practically to my armpits.
Bellybutton? What bellybutton? (Disclaimer - I don't plank. No idea if I'm doing this right!)
I this thread. I clearly remember being a 21-yr-old brand new mom looking in the mirror and feeling absolutely ruined. Devastated. I had never seen a real post-partum belly and had no idea what to expect. The permanent changes to my body took years for me to accept. Now, I'm pretty happy. Room for improvement? You bet! And I'm not done yet. But if there's a young mom out there reading this thread who feels like she's the only one who got stretch marks up past her bellybutton or didn't snap right back into her old jeans, I'm happy to add to the chorus of 'You're not alone'72 -
Ok I'll post too. I'm not where I want to be but maybe one day.

I have low-rise pants that fit, but because of this "spilling out" problem, I never wear them because surely no one else has this weird donut at the tops of their pants. And sometimes I don't believe the pants I'm wearing fit because of this pooch that sometimes appears (granted, it comes no matter if the pants are falling off, so it just needs to take a hike, but that's a different story, still being written). I don't wear fitted shirts because I'm super self-conscious of the muffin. >.>
You're not alone. I'm close to the top end of a healthy BMI at present (a bit under 24) and I have the same problem. As long as I'm standing, I feel great! My pants fit comfortably and I feel that I look good. As soon as I sit down, the "rubber ring"/donut appears. I like to wear more fitted tops sometimes, now that I have a waist again, but then I feel bad about the spare tire round the middle. I seem to be holding onto most of the additional weight around my belly and hips these days, and I'm much more critical of my body now I'm smaller than I ever was when I was obese!7
