Had visitors this week and lots of opportunities to eat a ton and drink a ton, and yes I ate unhealthier than normal and drink a little more, but not once did I feel like I couldn't control what I was eating and I still made conscious decisions about what I ate even when I didn't log, and that is all huge to me!25

Swam 5km this morning. Got timing right and made it into work for 9am.
This is good to know! Just have to see how well I survive the day before making it a possibly regular event25 -

This is a stupid one, but last year I was in a plus sized Halloween costume...and this year I fit into a regular one.
Wasn't sure if it was gonna fit cause the weight range was 140-160 (I'm 170), but it does and damn do I look good. Thanks, heavy lifting. Lol39 -

I can now fit into all my clothes in the cupboard that I bought two plus years ago. Mostly size 10 Australian.20 -
My NSV is that I figured out how to make roasted broccoli!!! I've been trying for a long time and it'd never turn out. But I'm so pleased! I'm actually craving some as I type this and I don't think I'll ever eat broccoli any other way now [/quote]
Please share!8 -
I'm doing a remodel on a new home I bought and had hired someone to come line all the cabinets and drawers since many have stains.
I called and cancelled a week ahead, thinking that maybe, just maybe, I could do it myself.
I am done with all the hard spots and am amazed that I could fit my upper half into the cabinets to reach the very back.of the shelves.
A lot of twisting and turning my body to do so, I think my daily Yoga helped with that, I saved a bunch of money by doing it myself and wasn't sore later!27 -
@thereshegoesagain It's deceivingly simple, I made some again tonight! I used frozen broccoli, so even easier! I put ~1 cup of broccoli in a big ol' bowl with about one and a half to two tablespoons of olive oil (I didn't measure). I put in some garlic salt and pepper, then used my hands to make sure every piece of broc was covered. Not dripping, just a light sheen (one thing I always had failed at).
Then, spray Pam or other spray on a baking sheet. Put the broc on the sheet (yes, like one serving for a whole baking sheet...second thing I always failed at. I'd overload and they'd get mushy and cook crazy uneven). Super spread out, like no two touching!! I baked it at 425* (-ish...my knob was somewhere in that area) for 15 minutes. Could have gone for just 12, though. Third thing I failed at was thinking "425*??!!!?!?!? They'll turn to ash!!!" Nope!!!! Do keep an eye out though for smoking, because smoky oil = fire.
I imagine fresh broccoli would be a shorter time, too. I guess you'll just need to experiment to find the perfect temp and time for you. But the tricks seem to be 1. LIGHT oil 2. suuuper spread out and 3. high temp!
Not gonna lie, it makes me feel so good that I get to share this with you -- I was kinda embarrassed because I couldn't figure out a seemingly simple cooking method. But there's enough nuances to make it difficult!!
I'm excited now to go to the grocery store and look at more kinds of roasty veggies!! Let me know how it turns out for ya!!17 -
@mrschwarten do you defrost the broccoli first or use it frozen? Thanks:)0

Friend was showing me some photos she'd taken & there was one of a lassie with her back to the camera. I thought....that's a pretty impressive derriere...who's that?
Yep...twas I!
My backside is the bane of my life, whether in my current shape or when I was obese. Felt like it was back there secretly snacking no matter what....hard to believe the one in the photo belongs to me!40 -
I can now wrap my legs around each other when sitting. Not just cross them: actually wrap my foot around my calves with crossed legs. Sure, it looks weird, but somehow there's such joy in this - here's to slim thighs! :-)25
