Hi there everyone! My name is Dorothy and I’m from South Africa. I'm not looking to lose weight but more to maintain. Joined Body for Life in August last year and even though i finished my program some time ago I still exercise 7 days a week, sometimes even twice a day. Only problem for me is i tend to overeat - A LOT! So really i just want to control myself a bit and not eat everything i see. Hopefully this will help!

Welcome. I think you'll find MFP a tremendous aid in recognizing how to change your eating habits in a safe and healthy way.0

Hi Dorothy and welcome. I started using MFP a month ago and what an eye-opener the food log is! It has been a huge help in curbing my mindless overeating. I eat much less and now I take the time to enjoy every bite instead of just shoveling it in....
Good Luck!0 -
Welcome Dorothy! I totally hear you. I used to eat out of boredom, or just because it was there. Here a few tips that I've picked up:
Fill your plate from the stove at mealtime. Do not put the food in dishes on the table. (It's way to easy to grab just one more spoonful of potatoes when it is 3 inches in front of you)
Don't let open bags of food sitting out on the counter (crackers, pretzels). You will just keep picking at them until you realize you've just had 3 servings. If you want a snack, put a small amount of them in a bowl and put the bag away.
When you go out to eat, ask for a box when you order. When the food comes, cut everything in half and box it up right away. The portions at restaurants are way to big!
and Water, Water, Water.....Drink a glass before every meal. It fills you up.0
