My name is Jen. Iβve been sitting at the low 200s for a while now trying everything to get my weight to budge. A great MFP friend suggested this group and so far itβs helping! The weight is still moving at a snails pace but at least itβs moving!

Round 60 SW - 205.2 EW - 205.8
12/3 - 205.8
12/4 - 205.4 - followed my eating plan, and no snacking after supper really helped. Need to drink more water today
12/5 - 205.4
12/6 - did not weigh
12/7 - 205.4
12/8 - 205.8. Happy with this after a day of no tracking.
12/9 - 207. We hosted a Christmas party last night. I didnβt overindulge but probably had more bad things than good. Lots of water today and tomorrow!
12/10 - 207.8
12/11 - 207 - Iβve been fighting a bad cold for over a week now so have lost all of my focus. I really need to get back to basics and will try my best to get a plan going.
12/12 - 205.6. Well I guess thatβs what happens when you get back to basics. When for a couple of walks yesterday, drank my water and ate sensibly. Now to keep that going...

12/04 174.4 undeserved but i'll enjoy it while it lasts
12/05 173.2 and the sun is shining!!
12/06 173.8 early weigh in - enjoyed some fruitcake yesterday but stayed within my calories - next special event is on the 12th so hopefully i can make some progress before then
12/07 173.8 not enough exercise yesterday
12/08 173.2
12/09 173.4 maintenance as a goal for the season is definitely helping with the stress, but I notice that my nutrition is not as good - too many carbs and salt and not enough protein - so this is not sustainable long term. Will try to address that this week.
12/10 174.4 ? ate well yesterday so I am not sure why the bounce
12/11 176 .0 mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa! Now for the damage control.
12/12 175 That's better A christmas event this evening - going to have one piece of fruit cake and focus on the carol singing and maybe walk home afterwards weather permitting.

12/4 - 178.8 - Starting to come back down. I never have a Round goal weight, only a 10 lb goal to reach. This time I set one. 175 lbs, to keep me accountable and away from the carbs until I reach it. BECAUSE, there are 2 carb days I am looking forward to, gingerbread and belgian waffles both courtesy of my son's baking. I've been waiting on this gingerbread for 4 years
12/5 - 176.8 -
12/6 - 176.2 -
12/7 - 176.4 - Up slightly. Feeling a little under the weather the past few days. Sore throat TRYING to take hold. Felt out of it yesterday and instead of laying down for a few, I ate a few tortilla chips. They did perk me up slightly and I was able to get through my evening chores.
12/8 - 176.4 - I'm calling yesterday an OMAD day, my meals were so close together. Hungry! Ate 1oz of pretzels and 2TBS homemade onion dip right after dinner. I don't usually get colds, just a feeling of I'm coming down with one and a sore throat for a few days. However, this sore throat was strange. It hurt in the center of my throat, felt like a lump I needed to swallow. Almost gone today thank goodness. I think I drowned it in water and tea. Lol.
12/9 - 177.4 - It was an early weigh in, but I ate the heck out of some pretzels yesterday so that's the gain.
12/10 - 178.8 - Temporary. My pretzel frenzy. Lol. It really wasn't. I only had 2ozs of them.
12/11- 176.6 - Lucky ducky. - I ate 700 calories worth of chips! I don't regret the indulgence. They were so delicious and dangerous! Porcini mushroom, rosemary and olive oil kettle chips.
12/12 - 178.4 - Chips! showing on the scale today, along with last nights late dinner. My fasting schedule has become erratic in the past week or so. My last meal of the day is sometimes at 7:30, 8:30. I don't like eating that late.

12/04 145.4 up a .2...why? No clue. Ate within a deficint, exercised good and had a little over 1.2 liters of water. I am assuming it's a slight fluctuation before a woooosh lol or at least I hope π€π€volleyball tonight and I always see a loss the next day, so needless to say I am excited to weigh in tomorrow.
12/05 145.2 and down again. I was fine yesterday morning but by around dinner time the hunger monster awoke. I couldn't seem to get full, regardless of how hard I tried. I played volleyball and exercised pretty good yesterday but because of my eating, I ended on a maintenance. I also had a good amount of energy last night after I got home, so decided to exercise a bit more while doing laundry and didn't end up going to bed until after 2. Needless to say I need to get a bit more sleep then that.
12/06 145.2 my body is comfortable here. I guess I shouldn't complain, had a chocolate craving around 8 so that overkilled my calories by a bit. Exercised good and 2 liters of water.
12/07 144.0 last night I started feeling really sick. I think I caught the flu so I went to bed early and am still feeling sick now..have No clue what happened, was fine all day then BAM, nausea. So, as much as this number excited me, I also know it's because I only ate 600 cal. Yesterday and couldn't even count the amount of hours I have been sleeping. Once I feel better and start eating normally again, I will, get a more accurate number
12/08142 still sickness weight with little to no eating and maybe a bit of dehydration, even though water was the only thing j made sure I was indulgent in. I am feeling much better today and hungry...so I expect this weight will increase by tomorrow π₯π₯ I wish it hadn't been because of an illness
12/09 142.8 i am not looking at this as a usual gain, I am looking at it as a "I am back to eating normal and I am feeling better, so I obviously would gain after two days of eating nothing" I am still not taking this as my for sure weight, I think I will wait until it balances out again. I got back to exercising yesterday, especially because I felt like a million bucks, which was great! Drank 1.2 liters of water and stayed under calories..hope everyone is having a great weekend!
12/10 142.8 so I guess my body likes it here and has decided to stay. I am assuming being sick had made my body feel as if it was doing a fast because I am surprised I didn't gain more weight back now that I have been eating normally again. I'm not complaining though lol. Finally moved back into my apartment and was able to sleep in my own bed ever since the flood months ago, so moving boxes and cleaning kept me active. My TOM is expected on Wednesday so I am assuming I will have a weight fluctuation before the end of the round π₯π₯ always at the worst time I tell ya! Drank 1 liter of water and ate under Calories. I Hope everyone has a great Monday!!
12/11 no weigh in, sort of had to take the car in for an oil change so I had to be up a lot earlier than usual..didn't get to weigh in until after I ate and I was a whopping 144. TOM is due tomorrow so we will just have to see In the morning what my scales has to say for sure. Today I received an early birthday present...a fit bit!! I am so happy and excited!! My mom decided I should be rewarded, i guess, for all the hard work I have been doing and she knows how anal I am about being exact when it comes to my steps and calorie burns. I don't think I have ever received such a nice, thoughtful gift and to keep the momentum going, my team won all 6 of our volleyball games tonight!! Today was really a great day!
12/12 143.8 woke up feeling and looking terribly bloated, so the pound isn't surprising. I have been eating a little more than usual but I am still managing a respectable deficint. NSV I am over 7 days without having a chocolate. When I first started "..10 days" I had a better handle on things, having chocolate once or twice a month but ever since Halloween the cravings have been harder to manage and the amount of times I was giving in was not ok. Although the past couple of days have been the most difficult (TOM woes) I managed to stick to no chocolate and am planning to keep going until my birthday.

@SheilaBoneham - I can see your tracker on my desktop computer using mozilla firefox. Google Chrome crashed on me here at the office a while ago and I haven't been able to get it to function since.2
-
I have 4 or 5 days of reading to catch up on!
@SheilaBoneham, I can see your tracker on the app and the Silk browser on my kindle.4 -
Now I'm starting another round not at the beginning. But life is so busy right now - yet I know I need this challenge, and MFP in general, to keep me motivated. It's a tough time of year -- sweets and cookies EVERYWHERE! If I tell myself I'm weighing in and posting it, it keeps me on track (and I could go WAY off track!) I am close to my ultimate goal, and I really want to reach it, but mostly, I DON'T WANT TO GO BACK to that old me! It's been three years now -- but the danger is always there. LOL!
61 years old (really happy about that lately....:D)
5'3" (yoga gave me back an inch -- I had "shrunk" to 5'2" -- but I'm back at 5'3" -- used to be 5'3.5" so I've got a little ways to go still! )
CW: 129.3 (this a.m.) -- I went up to 131 just last week (those cookies!!)
GW: 118 - 120 (I have been as low as 122... it felt GREAT!)
Goal for this round -- can I get back down to 127 or 126? I'm going to be a fit and skinny old woman and when I retire, (in like 5 years...geesh!) I will live in yoga clothes and adopt homeless dogs. (We are on our fourth "rescue" - a super anxious little black lab mix puppy that was found abandoned -- my husband and I are having "disagreements" about whether she needs a companion or not....)
12/6 -- 129.3
12/7 -- 129.1
12/8 -- 129.6
12/9 -- 130.4
12/10 --130.8
12/11-- 129.8 -- It was a weekend full of food --and what else can you do? OH - that's right --you can keep the
attention OFF of the food -- which I was successful at until I wasn't -- but this is the end game
for me -- and I need to remember it will be little steps... I was down to 125 just a little while ago,
but what are we talking about? Four -five pounds. I just am afraid when I hit that 130 that it keeps going up again. Weight maintenance is forever. We are traveling next week to go visit the husband's family for Christmas (we do this every year, and it's wonderful - we all rent cottages at a Southern California beach, no one "hosts," and we just enjoy it)-- and between now and then, I am going to go to yoga daily, get my work done, and focus on big salads and protein. It works. Maybe I'll go closer to 125 than 130. Keep it up everyone -- it is SO WORTH IT!!!
12/12 -- 128.7 Feeling really good about this as it's farther away from that dreaded 130 (or 131 even!) I was just a couple days ago. Yoga last night -- let me explain about my obsession -- it's "Baptiste power yoga" --we do it in a packed studio (there are quite a few of us that are addicted!) that's heated to 90 to 95 degrees -- and we move (a lot!) and do core work (a lot!) and strength training (we plank, side plank, dolphin (ugh!) and dolphin plank -- a lot!) and it's HARD and I am in love with it!! AND I ate salad and protein. I have a glass of red wine every damn evening. Non-negotiable. This is how I got here from 155 a couple of years ago and I know it works. I love hearing about all the fitness -- walking, running (personally I hate running -- lol!) rowing, working out, strength training, etc. -- you all incorporate into your days. I believe! It took me decades, but now I believe! Do something that makes you sweat everyday.12 -

Round 57 * -1.8
Round 58 * -1.5
Round 59 * -0.04
Round 60 * -0.06
OSW - 213 (highest weight ever 280 but I've had most of that off for more than 15 years but still)
CW - 186.4
RGW - 185.4
UGW β 135
Food Goals:
Get 5 servings of fruits/veggies every day.
Stay under my calorie goal of 1,400.
Exercise Goals:
Walk at least an hour 3 days a week, 4 days if nothing better is available.
Weight training 1 day a week
12/04 - 186.4 Just one day off from hitting my 186 goal. I guess eating 300 calories all day and 1100 after 6:00 p.m. is going to have an impact. Sure I stayed within goal but the timing screwed me for next day weigh in - lesson learned. Going to the gym tonight for weights. After six rounds I've lost 5.9 pounds. Very close to a pound a week. If I keep that pace I'll be at my goal in 1 year. I started in March but didn't really get serious until July or August. Here's to the next six weeks. It would be nice to start the new year in the 170's.
12/05 - Traveling no scale. I drove four hours yesterday in the snow, then went straight to the hotel. I did two miles on the treadmill but did not make it to the gym. The roads are clear, I'm going to the gym tonight.
12/06 - Traveling no scale. Went to the gym and had a great workout. Stayed within calories and didn't have any sweets. I'm driving 4 hours home this afternoon - in snow again. I'm a little anxious about tomorrow morning's weigh-in after two days of nothing. This weighing every day thing is kind of addictive.
12/07 - 186.1 I'm happy with that. My boyfriend was traveling with me which means I'm going to much more interesting restaurants and it's more of a challenge to stay within calories. In this case Thai and Vietnamese; I struggle to log it. I do my best guess and that has to be good enough. I still exercised and didn't go too crazy (Ok I had more of his onion strings than I should have on the last day).
12/08 - 186.7 Boom- Chicka Dark Chocolate drizzle is fine in small quantities, unfortunately small quantities arenβt possible because itβs so delicious. I now know I canβt handle it and wonβt buy it again. I have no excuse
12/09 - 185.3 Not sure why Iβm down today but I ainβt mad. I was right on target yesterday and my only exercise was moving furniture and house cleaning but I guess it was enough.
12/10 - 185.5 Up slightly, my guess is the sodium rich Papa Murphy's Chicken artichoke delite pizza I had for dinner. Within calories easily but high in sodium. I would think that would be gone tomorrow as long as I stay on target today. I walked 4 miles yesterday and it was great. I am starting to love walking in the cold. I have a meeting with my boss at 3:30, should be done by 4:00. That should give me enough time to get another walk in before it's too dark.
12/11 - 185.5 I'll take no change. I don't want to jinx myself I want to end this round at 185.4 or lower. I have stay focused. I did get 3 miles in yesterday, fastest time yet 50:05. That's speedy for me! I would love to get to 15 minutes miles instead of 16 minute miles then I could get 4 in an hour. That would be awesome sauce. Tonight weights! When I restarted this lifestyle change for the 4th or 5th time I had 78 pounds to lose, the goal seemed too unobtainable. I'm a third of the way there now, I can see that' it's going to be possible as long as I stay vigilant.
12/12 - 184.9 I didn't expect this, but I'm VERY happy about it. It was in the 50's yesterday so I took a short 1.3 mile walk before going to the gym. On the weight machines for a little over an hour. I will say I couldn't do some of the heavier weights last night. Not sure what's up with that but I'll go at it again next Tuesday. Since I'm below goal for this round today, I'm scared I'll be up tomorrow. I don't care about calories today, just keep the sodium LOW!

Goal: Get BF% to 10-12%, then bulk.
Round 57: +2.6 (15.1%)
Round 58: -1.8 (15.1%)
Round 59: -1.8 (14.1%)
Round 60: -7.0 (12.1%)
Round 61 Starting Weight: 178.6
Goals for this round are to continue recovering from my illness the last round and see where my weight stabilizes, then determine whether to cut a bit more or start my bulk. Also plan on getting back in the gym consistently now that I am starting to get my strength back.
Day/Weight/Comment
12/04 - 181.2 - Was able to eat normal foods again and felt pretty good. Wasn't able to get a workout in, but I do plan on getting back to the gym today and getting on a normal eating schedule again.
12/05 - 182.4 - Had a lot of food yesterday. Starting to feel stronger. We will see where the weight tapers off.
12/06 - 184.0 - Feeling closer to 100%, so I plan on getting back on point with my calories and macros today, as well as getting back in to my workout routine. Looking forward to it!
12/07 - 184.8 - Started working out, decent workout. Also started to take creatine, so my weight may go up for the next couple of weeks, but I am ok with that.
12/08 - 183.4 - Had a fancy work dinner that was amazing. Had a dessert I shouldn't have, but its all good. Got my workout in and spent a bunch of time with family today.
12/09 - 183.6 - Rest day from workouts. Ate sensibly.
12/10 - 184.2 - Had a good day. Did pretty well as far as food (except sodium), and crushed my workout.
12/11 - 183.2 - Hoping for another good day today. Planning on a steak dinner tonight and a good HIIT sprint workout and an ab workout.
12/12 - 183.8 - Had my steak dinner and got my workout in yesterday. I am sore as can be (2nd day after 1st squat day after a 2 week hiatus). Deadlifts and more today, so we will see how that goes tonight.

End R60: 174.8
12/03 - 174.8
12/04 - 174.6 Small victory. I enjoyed goulash and garlic bread for dinner last night but used portion control.
12/05 - 174.6 Holding steady. I have to keep motivated. I should maybe add a little more exercise, or just some exercise lol, would be good. I know that would kick it up (or down) a notch.
12/06 - 174.0 Now that's more like it. 20 minutes on the treadmill and I survived. I might try it again tonight.
12/07 - 172.8 Woo Hoo! Gotta keep on it. Love the feeling of accomplishment.
12/08 - 173.6 Too much celebration. I didn't think I went over on my calories that much but just poor food choices - starchy and salty. I did exercise. Minor setback. I'm going to concentrate on more water and more veggies this weekend and maybe Monday i will see that number on the scale again.
12/09 - 175.0
12/10 - 175.8 The weekends are hard for me. I need a new plan - not sure what it is yet. I'm going to have to work hard to finish out this round with a loss. It can and WILL be done. (Pep talk to myself.)
12/11 - 174.0 Happy Dance. Same plan for today. One day at a time. One hour at a time. One bite (not mouthful) at a time.
12/12 - 173.0 Weekend weight OFF. I've got three days until the next weekend. Today's goal - veggies, veggies, veggies (why can't fruits be veggies - I don't have a problem eating enough fruits lol).
12/13 -14 -
Hi @quiltingjaine ~ that's great advice for a different kind of night .... These parties are meant for overindulging, lol !!! I prelogged what I wanted to enjoy, ate more than anticipated, and still managed to stay within the green so yayyyyy for that but boooooo to the extra glass of champagne and my headache this morning8

Round 61 - (my 2nd round)
51, Standing: 5'9" in NYC
OSW: 274 ~ CSW: 234.2 ~ GW: 230
12/03 ~ 235.2 - End R60 not too bad overall. Down 1.6 lbs.
12/04 ~ 234.2 - SOOOORE is the word of the day.
12/05 ~ 233.1 - Unexpectedly had time yesterday and spent HOURS deep cleaning house, moving furniture, reorganizing closets and decorating for the holidays. So surprisingly not as sore today, but feeling achy enough in my knees and lower back to make this a rest day for sure. Hoping some mild stretching this morning and eve gets the kinks out ~ and the weight loss keeps dropping! Have a great day everyone.
12/06 ~ 232.9 - My sore body bows in gratitude and prays the good fortune continues, lol π
12/07 ~ 232.8 - thought it would be higher, but a drop is a drop! Happy Friday all!
12/08 ~ 233.4 - Ate lightly yesterday but ended up finishing the night with a wine spritzer, crab cake and a piece of chocolate! Had extra calories, so still ended under in every category except fat of course, lol. 5 hours sleep has me feeling hungrier than usual this morning but no complaints.
12/09 ~ 233.6 - The past few days I've been increasing my calorie deficit, but I could tell this morning that's not a good strategy for me. It's obvious I'm not eating enough. I can feel my body hoarding like a cactus in the heat! Going to test my strategy and overeat a tiny bit today to see if that turns the wheel back in the right direction.
12/10 ~ 232.2 - originally ended the night early with a deficit (wasn't hungry and didn't want to force myself just to test a theory). But around 9pm I was STARVING and wolfed down about 2oz of left over salmon in the fridge. What a difference that bit of protein made!! I slept deeper than I have the past few nights and woke with more energy this morning. In the end, I did "overeat a tiny bit" and later than I normally like to. IDK if any of it factored in the drop or if I'm over analyzing, but I am happppppy like a room without a roof Have a great week everyone!! Hope all your goals are met.
12/11 ~ 232.0 - Party tonight, so liquid breakfast and a light lunch today in preparation.
12/12 ~ ??????? - Though I stayed within the green, it was a really late night and I'm slightly hungover. It also feels like food is still in my system and I've no desire to see it reflected on the scale this morning, lol. Hoping tomorrow ends well.
12/13 ~10 -
I know this is random but I just received a fit bit and needless to say I would like some friends lol..if there is anyone here interested please reach out to me. I feel comfortable with everyone in this group. I went to check other groups for users but I feel awkward sending requests to people I am not as familiar with4

@SheilaBoneham I'm on my Mac desktop using Chrome and I do see it. I had to edit this. I do see your tracker in your post with your weight loss. 87 lb and a snowman with a cityscape.1

My goals this round- get to 172. Drink lots of water.
12/3 - 178 - I swooshed up but need to get back into it. I leave for a day or two, hoping to be a wise eater.
12/4 - No scale
12/5 - 177
12/6 - 177
12/7 - 177 - I figured out that when I rely on dairy for my protein, I still crave carbs. I normally have hard boiled eggs, cooked meat in the freezer and lunch meat I can put in salads....tuna too. However, the cottage cheese I have been working on, is not helping at all. The chips are almost all gone.π¬
12/8 - 176
12/9 - Refused to weigh after salty food.
12/10 - 176 - I have a few gatherings to go to this week. Usually that is cause to go off the rails. I am going to try my best.
12/11 -No Scale
12/12 - 175 - I am skipping a noon Christmas party because I donβt feel like driving an hour to stand around and eat. I am quilting with my friend instead. I havenβt felt like exercising because I spend so much time packing our house up and I get tired just doing that.

12/04 - Tuesday - 178.8 - Hmmm...well thats interesting. I guess the weekend just took a day to catch up with me. Yesterday was a good eating day, even did a little yoga to destress and it was a circus at work. Not sweating it though...I felt really good this morning. Sticking to habits today, canned soup for lunch and eggroll in a bowl for dinner and tomorrows lunches. When I closed yesterdays diary is said I would be 170.5 in 5 weeks time so that was encouraging seeing that I'm not far "off schedule" to short term goal #3!
12/05 - Wednesday - 178.8 - Ate Wendys without prelogging last night and now I know that a spicy chicken sandwich and fries is 1100 calories! Whoops. Ended the day around maintenance but it was not what I had planned and beat myself up over it for a moment - DH reminded me that it is a TREAT and I'm not eating fast food every day like I used to. I then gave myself some credit for the changes I've made and was able to enjoy the fact that we actually had a nice impromptu dinner date. This is a LIFELONG journey so getting used to a normal amount of eating out is needed - I cant beat myself up over living life! But I can learn from it!
12/06 - Thursday - 177.4 - Stressful evening last night. DH may be seeking other employment, unknown is terrifying but we will be okay. Anyway, work feels like a funeral today. Stuck to habits this morning and will be clinging to them thru this. Endo follow up this afternoon - and physical appointment labs came back looking good! My non-fasting glucose was 87 at 3PM!!! More labs to be done today and hoping to see improvement there also.
12/07 - Friday - 177.0 - Feeling more optimistic about our future today - the only thing I can plan for is that the plan will change - sticking by that motto through this next chapter. Endocrinologist appointment was amazing. Doc said I can come off my metformin, and other meds - continue with lifestlye changes and ready to start trying to conceive!!! PCOS symptoms have subsided, which is the whole reason I got serious about this journey. Smashing goals and pushing on to the next goal!
12/08 - Saturday - 176.0 - low cal day yesterday, mostly due to nerves still, wasnt terribly hungry. Our neighbor/tenant brought over homemade soup and grilled cheese for dinner, so that saved me from the super salty chili baked potato I had planned and was a nice little get together. Brought the dog for a bath at the new pet store and washed bedding so everyones feeling less stuffy and squeky clean! Also noticed my hair feels really healthy! Making meal plans today, need to do full haul grocery shop and farm shop.
12/09 - Sunday - 175.6 - Yesssss!!! Ate what I wanted yesterday but kept it in the green. This May also be a little bit stress related but Im usually a stress overeater so I'll take it as a win.
12/10 - Monday - 175.2 - Stress related still, appetite is just not there so I'm eating way smaller portions when I do eat. Went to the grocery store and farm this weekend so fridge is full to continue cooking most meals at home. Dinner with parents last night was really nice - it was foreign to me not to fill up on cheese and crackers before dinner, but I did stress eat an extra piece of pie late last night. Busy week so need to plan accordingly.
12/11 - Tuesday - 174.8 - So last night I decided to stop moping. DH is actually dear fiance, we've been engaged two years but prioritized buying a house over a wedding. And I think subconsciously I pushed it off because I didnt like the skin I was in. Yesterday I saw a wedding event at a boutique bridal shop that is carrying a line I'm really interested in. So I made an appointment! We don't have a date set, we still might end up at the town hall - but I finally felt confident enough to stand in front of a huge mirror and try on dresses! And to finally feel worth it is just as much a success as losing any amount of weight!
12/12 - Wednesday - 174.0 - Stress continues to drive this number downwards more than anything I think...but to give myself credit I am cooking all meals and eating 100% on plan. Busy day today, packed breakfast, lunch and dinner because I've got an ultrasound to monitor my thyroid this evening. I bought two individual frozen pizzas so I have something to look forward to on Friday without ordering out - and I'm already looking forward to it haha. 175 has always been some weird mental road block that I tend to start self sabotaging on so I'm excited to push thru it!

Soooo many special events this week! Still more to come next week!
- Let's face it! We are all human.
- Christmas is a time for celebration. We can CHOOSE whether or not to indulge.
- As long as we do so in moderation, there shouldn't be too much damage.
- Indulgence has it's consequences, but they are only temporary.
- Own them, and get back on track.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieve permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

I am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after.
I need to step up my game if I want to meet any of my goals.
