Yay! Thanks @mytime6630! I'm wrecked today - but 2019 was rung in with genuine love and happiness. keeping it very simple today.
1. Be kind
2. Make white chicken chili for lunches https://www.maebells.com/slow-cooker-white-bean-chicken-chili-verde/
3. Pick up pup
4. Drink water
5. Bed early6 -
Today's goal is not to mess up the first day of my diet.22

Haha I like this, but remember it's okay if you do! just do a little bit better tomorrow, even if its one extra glass of water or 100 extra steps
I sculptor doesn't go in on his first day and create a masterpiece, he goes in and starts with a small project, and at first there will be mistakes, but the more he goes in and the more he practices soon he'll have a lifesize statue of great detail.12 -
I’m a fan of Zen Habits which is a mindfulness blog. Nothing to do with Zen.... on the blog for today the post is about the blank page of 2019.... it says
We have a new year upon us, and while “January 1” is just an arbitrary date, for most of us, it feels like a new beginning.
And there’s something beautifully minimalist about this new beginning — it’s a blank slate, where we can do anything, imagine possibilities, become a new person.
In fact, this is available to us in any moment: each new second is a fresh beginning, a new opportunity, a chance to start over, a blank canvas to be filled with whatever art we are moved to create.
Let’s imagine this new year as a blank slate. It’s like an empty house: what would we like to put in it?
This is a kind of minimalism. We can start afresh, tossing out everything and only placing in this empty house what we find most important, and nothing more.
What would you like to do with the minimalist blank slate of this new year? »
This gave me hope as each second, each minute is a new beginning. Tu day I am in the green- finally!!!!! Woo hoo🥴😃😍😅😇 good start ....
Amd I’m continuing with my little pamper me of moisturise at night just before bed my hands and feet. It’s a little treat, it’s sitting out my rough skin and it gives me one success I can do right at end of day even if failed in all others 😍8 -

I moisturized my feet last night, along with the rest of my body thanks to you5 -
Today I will walk for at least 30min. I did a lot of walking yesterday so gonna take it easier today. I'll also drink more water. Definitely didn't get enough yesterday! And I forgot to track what I did.. which I really should be better about. I'll also consciously sit/stand up straighter. My disc doesn't hurt so much if I have good posture.2

Happy New Year everyone!
I'm in again
This year, I AM going to reach my goal weight and I AM going to maintain it. I only have about 12 pounds to lose, this is very achievable!
For the newbies: I'm 32, live with my boyfriend near London, work in London at a job that I want to leave (and hopefully will manage to do so within the first half of the year!). In my free time I exercise, read and am learning French (my boyfriend is French and I'm studying for a qualification). My weakness is social eating and drinking - my normal diet is fairly good but I socialise quite a bit and am not good at reining myself in when I do so end up consuming a lot of calories! This year, I need to get to grips with living in moderation and prioritise my health more. I'm fairly young now but am probably not doing my body any favours with my lifestyle and it'll probably catch up with me in time.
Today has been a total write off - last night was a fairly heavy one - so I'm not setting goals today but I will be starting fresh tomorrow3 -
Hoping this will be ok with the group. I'm going to jot a goal for the next day and report in every evening. That and using the stairs at work throughout the day tomorrow are my goals for tomorrow.3
-
OK, confession time... I have gained all of the weight back that I lost 1 1/2 years ago, most of it in the past 4 months while going through some family crises. I am bummed about it buy I'm also determined to get back on track.
1) stick to calorie goal
2) keep Macros in check
3) drink enough water
4) take daily supplements
5) Cardio for 30 min, 3x week
6) weight training for 30 min, 4x week4 -

Sounds perfect! Whatever works best for you! Welcome!1 -
Hi everyone, I started logging yesterday and was pretty horrified at what it all added up to. So this morning I've started with a clear mindset and awareness of what I'm putting into my body.
Resolutions are-
Log daily.
Move daily even if it's not a strict exercise routine.
Lose 10kg this year. 5 kg by 20th February when I go on holiday.
Drink more water.5 -
Happy Healthy New Year everyone! I'm late hopping on today. Had kind of a restless night and slept too late this morning. Not a very encouraging start to my goals for 2019! LOL!
Welcome to anyone just joining us! :flowerforyou: I love seeing new faces and love seeing friends made on here from the last year or two. New Year's are just so exciting to me. I hope not to let it fizzle out on me this year.
For those who are new, my name is Tracie and I live in Wisconsin. I'll be 59 in March. I'm married to my 2nd husband and we each have 3 children from previous marriages. So together, we have 6 adult kids, 18 grandkids and 5 great-grands. I've been on this thread with @mytime6630 since I think 2016? In that time, I have not attained my goal to "lose weight", but I have made very significant life changes such as leaving a job I'd been at for 25 years which was so stressful that I felt like it was slowly killing me, and taking a position with a new organization to get rid of that *kitten*-TON of stress. That was in 2017 and I was scared to do it, but this group was so awesome with their support! It made a tremendous difference in my life, my husband's life and my family's life because I no longer work 60 or 70 hours per week and I have close to no work stress now. In 2018, once again my goal was to lose weight, but instead I had surgeries and physical therapy for injuries I'd just been living with for almost 7 years....which again was life changing as I can now take walks and do things I hadn't been able to do for a very long time! So I don't feel I failed. I feel like I'm making life changes in the order I need to, to get where I want to be. I have a very sarcastic sense of humor. I am very interested in reading, gardening, fishing, and doing anything outside. Lately, I've been dipping my toe into minimalism and decluttering, and have been really getting into journaling and meditating lately too.
Wow..sorry if I just bored you all! LOL! Did I mention I'm a Pisces and my favorite color is blue? Bwahahaha!
I'm still listing out my goals for 2019, so I will post those separately and just stick to today's goals here.

@frenchfancy2014 I love what you posted about the Zen Habits! Really hit home with me. Thanks for sharing. Is this by chance the blog by Leo Babauta? I listen to a podcast called Optimal Living Daily and sometimes they read an excerpt from his blog. Just curious.0

I’ll join in with the introductions for any new joiners. I’m 39 and live in North London with my two girls (ages 7 and 9) and our cat. I’m a primary school teacher in Year 1 (age 5-6). I’ve been separated for five years and am going through what feels like the world’s longest ever divorce. I have a boyfriend of 3 years but we don’t live together. I lost around 50lbs from my highest weight to now and have been maintaining for nearly 2 years. Although no longer losing, I find makntenance pretty tough at times so love this board for the accountability and wonderfully inspiring members.

This caught my eye in your goals earlier and I was wondering what kind of meals do you batch cook that freeze well? I'd love to do something like this for the week but I am a horrible cook and have no imagination for recipes either!0 -
What a great way to start 2019! This is a great challenge for me. I’m in with goals of lifestyle changes for the rest of my life.2
