what do you count as OSW? was that when you originally started MFP? I’m wondering where people get their OSW?

I think YOU get to choose. I think when I signed up to MFP, it defaulted to the weight I entered that day. At some point I set it to a time before that when I was heavier and was about to start my journey. Either way. Whatever you like!

I have noticed at least one person put their "Ultimate Starting Weight." For some reason, that bothers me because ultimate means the last (or the best), never the initial. I'm a word weirdo, so I actually like the (possibly coined by another word weirdo) word for the third to last thing in a series as ...
    antepenultimate.

@dawnbgethealthy, Net carbs are carbohydrates minus their fiber content, vegetables. I can't say net carbs is a true thing, but it helps me eat more vegetables on keto!

@mamarh, I use original start weight on this challenge, because just before I returned to logging my food on MFP in 2017, that is the weight I started from. You can choose to use any wording you want or only post your January starting weight. The words don't matter. What matters is that you're here being accountable for your weightloss. Welcome!

@mtaratoot, Yes, I like words too. Ultimate, meaning last, maximum, highest, as in, that is the LAST time I will ever be that weight. Also, not to be surpassed, because that is never going to happen. 😂 I use ultimate on at least one challenge. The weight I posted is not my original start weight from when I joined MFP. My original start weight was probably around 185 lbs in 2009.

Honestly, I’m a little frustrated. I’ve been working my butt off adding consistent exercise to my routine (and of course still sticking to my calories) and I feel like the weight is just barely coming off. It is my period week so there might be some water retention happening. I just feel like I’ve been working really hard the past 10 days and haven’t gotten much to show for it.

@Running2FitRunning : losing a pound a week is a very good rhythm for solid weight loss.

    https://www.cdc.gov/healthyweight/losing_weight/index.html :
"It’s natural for anyone trying to lose weight to want to lose it very quickly. But evidence shows that people who lose weight gradually and steadily (about 1 to 2 pounds per week) are more successful at keeping weight off. "
