This will be my first month in maintenance, so I am a bit uneasy. I know how to eat in deficit mode, but not as confident as I move into maintenance. Am planning to pretty much continue doing what I have been doing and add calories back in gradually.14 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: I am not exactly sure of my goal weight as I have still been losing weight by eating healthy and exercise. I really don't follow a program, log or count calories but try to listen to my body and make good eating choices. I am feeling great and if my weight plateaus, then this is a healthy goal weight for me and I am satisfied. But if I slowly lose a bit more, I am ok with that too. My real goal is to keep up with healthy eating and exercise and let my goal weight find itself, and maintain a healthy weight. In the past, I have lost weight easily when I was focused, but did not do a good job of maintenance. So I am hoping with some added focus, that I can maintain (or lose a few more) for the next year into the future.5 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: Finally got my digestion back to "normal" post stomach bug. Caught head cold. Didn't get a solid week of regular gym attendance in before I got something new. Fun. I've also got bad DOMS, so I'm probably full of water. And I either ovulated yesterday or today, so I'm now in the luteal phase again and that may cause water retention. I'm....eh. Not feeling fantastic, again.9 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: Averaged at the bottom of my range for January and weighed in below today. Still thinking about lowering my range.
Traveled for work this past week and did well. I only really had one meal that I thought my tracking was less than accurate. It could have been more or less then what I put but it was baked sole (fish) so it should not be too bad either way.
Exercise wise I only got in one lifting session and one body weight exercise session on different days for resistance. Cardio wise I did a good long walk every day at least about an hour and 40 minutes on the elliptical at the hotel one night. Not as much as usual for exercise but I feel OK about what I got done.

@erjones11, if you don’t mind me asking and you answering, what currently is your average daily calories consumed?
I continue to be inspired by your sharing, and those of other maintainers, as I diligently work for the “privilege” to join the maintenance club here. Thanks.3 -

How long in maintenance: I hit my goal weight in the beginning of January 2018, but officially started maintenance in mid-March 2018 after figuring out my calories for a couple of months.
Maintenance weight range: 108-111.5
Average weight recorded from 2018 (12 months): 109.8
Average weight recorded from January: 111

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: My weight is still on the high side of my range, though it did drop 0.8 lbs from yesterday to today, so I'm thinking that it's water weight/monthly hormonal fluctuations. I cooked all my meals at home this past week and the week prior, so the calories I've been eating are as accurate as they can be. If my weight continues to stay on the high side, I might increase my walking/exercise effort by a bit, as I'm thinking that perhaps my activity level has subconsciously been less than usual due to all of the cold weather.7 -

Age: 50
Height: 6'
Total weight lost: ~55 lbs
Time it took to lose: 9 months
How long in maintenance: Since December 2018

Average weight recorded from 2018 (12 months): 183
Average weight recorded for December:165.8
Average weight recorded for January: 167.3
Week of...
February 2nd: 168
Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: It's been an ordinary week for the most part. Thirty minutes moderate/vigorous cardio each day, three days of resistance. I'm trying to adapt to the days to nights to days circadian rhythm adjustments on weekends, and so far I've managed to get my exercise time in and get somewhat close to my sleep requirements. I enjoyed a rare dinner out last night for my wife's birthday, and guesstimated the best I could. Fortunately, my propensity for ordering something cheap (for me, not for her!) off the menu coincides with eating a reasonable number of calories.
I'm plugging away at adding muscle mass, though sad that it takes so much longer for evident results than it did for the weight loss. On the other hand, it's good to have a long-term goal to strive for. Have a great week, everyone!5 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: so darned proud of myself. Second work week in a row that I was up an hour early to work out. My husband is my “personal coach” now, asking me for photos of my treadmill run, then commenting on the time/distance. It’s a small effort by him, but it has a BIG impact on me and my motivation to get out of bed.
Still planning well around the two back to back night classes. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were packed ahead of time and I didn’t give in to any cravings... though I did complain about wanting a cookie a lot so someone at work bought me a huge cookie on Friday. I broke off 1/6th of it and gave the rest back with a sincere smile for their thoughtfulness.
Feels really great to be firmly back to good habits.
Have a wonderful week everyone!10 -

Bella, your story is very similar to mine! I do have a program (MyBodyTutor) but it doesn’t involve counting calories. I have also struggled in the past with maintaining weight loss and healthy habits and I’m determined to keep it up long term this time. I hit my goal weight of 133 at the end of October 2018. I’ve been calling it maintenance since then. I’m still losing weight but only 1-2 pounds per month which is just fine by me. I’d be happy to stay this weight, but losing a little more would be just fine too. Thanks so much for sharing your journey!
I’ll make my first official post tomorrow because Sunday is my weigh in day.4 -

I don't mind at all Pier. For maintenance I am at 1,990 calories a day. When I input my exercise whatever calories MFP says I change it to half and eat that as well. That said most days I end up a little under the combined target. If I find my trend continues to decline and I hit one more all time low I am going to start inputting all of the exercise calories MFP and eat that back.pierinifitness wrote: »@erjones11, if you don’t mind me asking and you answering, what currently is your average daily calories consumed?

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: It's a tradition in our country to eat donuts this time of the year, so I ate like 3 donuts this week, which I'm really not used to. I feel like my sugar/carb intake is just too much nowadays and I don't feel good at the moment about it, so I will try to reduce them next week a bit at least and focus on eating more protein and fat. There were some days when I felt like my recently bought clothes became too loose on me, however I didn't lose any weight, I don't know if this is good or bad, I want to wear those clothes...6 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: i haven't been too successfull in dropping lbs, so this past week I've employed a new strategy. I'm skipping breakfast and only have black coffee ( that's how i usually take it though, so nothing new here), then fasted bike commute to work if weather permits, then my usual lunch. And as usual the rest of the day. It appears it's working, I'm actually not hungry until lunch at all, so i find this change is relatively easy on me. I think i will continue doing this a little longer. This is all, unfortunately, for the sake of my after dinner snacking. Love my chocolate, dry fruits and nuts. Oh, and peanut butter with pretzels and chocolate chips too. So have to make room for it somewhere.

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: I feel really good about my yoga. I went jogging yesterday for 30 minutes and walked another 30 minutes. And got in three days on my stationary bike for 30 minutes. Still eating same good breakfast and lunch salads. Still within maintenance range, in the lower end.
Challenges: both husband and teenage daughter have started complaining about too many “healthy” dinners. I tried making a squash lentil soup and chicken sausage quinoa another night. So I’ll be making some of their traditional favorites and I’ll just watch my portions and add more veggies to my plate. I also had another night this week when I ate a LOT of sweets and junk food because I ended up alone in the house. And Friday I didn’t get to exercise because I had to come rescue my daughter who had car troubles. Oh boy also no yoga today because we’re going to a Super Bowl party! I’m trying to find another day this week to go.8 -
