Paternal Great - Grandfather was born in the Cavon region of Ireland. Emmigrated to Canada as a 10 year old boy. Does that count?

I'm also from Leeds! I find that it was a small manorial borough in the 13th century, and in the 17th and 18th centuries it became a major center for the production and trading of wool, and in the Industrial Revolution a major mill town; wool was still the dominant industry, but I found flax, engineering, iron foundries, printing, and other industries were also important.

I think it's cool that Leeds has the second-highest population of any local authority district in the UK (after Birmingham), and the second-greatest area of any English metropolitan district (after Doncaster), extending 15 miles (24 km) from east to west, and 13 miles (21 km) from north to south.
