Beth, wow carrot top pesto sounds so good. It’s on my list to try this week.

Machka you are so photogenic...love your smile.

Rebecca, pigtail day, great idea. Love the photos of possible new digs.

Did an advanced pilates DVD. The plan for tomorrow is to ride the recumbent bike.

Nancy – welcome back! What did you study in college? We are here for you, post whatever is on your mind at any time at all. Like I like to say…..we don’t exercise our shoulders for nothing . Tell us what’s going on whenever you can. Wish I could help you with the stress eating…but I can’t. I’m in the same boat. Can you do water aerobics? Swimming puts very very little to no impact on your joints.

Luanna – welcome. You shouldn’t feel out of place, we have members here who are just maintaining. I’m so sorry you are in pain. Sounds like you’ll fit right in

    Viv – happy early birthday

Last night made chicken thighs for us to have later in the week. This morning made salmon, lemon cupcakes for Vince and ginger cookies for the gal who lets me go to the Y for free.

Irish Terry – how I wish you were closer! I just finished making this blanket (crochet) and am now working on the sides. But there is one part that I have no idea what they’re talking about. I know that a group of ladies meet at ACMoore, so the next time I go there, hopefully, someone can explain it to me.

Carol – I have a friend who was always struggling money-wise. Her father passed away and left her a BIG inheritance, and I do mean big. But do you know that she is trying to get someone to copy their mahjongg card for her? She says all the money is invested. She doesn’t want to spend $8 to get a new card. The lady whose house we go to on Mondays to play has made a copy of her card for years, but now that this gal can afford it, she’s asked that we really don’t make her a copy since she can afford $8. And this I can totally understand.

Tracey in Edmonton – good for your friend enjoying himself! That’s the way it should be.

Katla – I had never heard of invisible quilting threads, either. Now I have heard (and used) invisible sewing thread. As I recall, it was clear.

Just made some brownies for Vince. The guy who is going to be the new Newcomer treasurer will come by Tues. afternoon, at which time Vince will give him the rest of the treasurer’s stuff. They went to the bank today and took Vince off the account and him so he can no longer write checks. He’s so happy to be out of Newcomers.

Allie – good news that nothing’s broken

Happy Mother’s Day to those across the pond and anyone else celebrating.

    Michele in NC

    Hi Gals,

Rebecca – why were you disappointed? Not enough? Quality?

    Sending hugs to all!

Still skimmin' only thru pg 69, but time to sleep.

Karen in VA  hearing about the letter. Not just to your grandmother, but from your grandfather to you in a way.
Suebdew inspiring story about Connor. Thanks!
Carol, BRAVA for the great improvement and pre-emptive PT. VERY well done!
Lanette glad the "nice" cortisone shot has relieved the sole pain, sorry at the cost of the top of the foot.
Katla cool air upstairs can be crucial in summer. Hooray!
Rebecca sounds like good news for the house on the hill.
Heather so glad you could chat with your friend, hoping the lunch date sticks.
Allie ditto Margaret's advice. While keeping your DB in prayer, am also hoping/praying that both your SIL and you will consider finding some support, like Nar-anon for families of addicts.
Machka I'm sure your Gran can see and is watching over you. That love cannot die.
Barbie happy to return the favor and stretch a little out of your comfort zone to teach the intermediate line dance class. Yes! Class was lucky to have you and glad you all had fun!
    Which dances did you teach?
Tracey, ah geese can be soooo bossy! and poopy!
Dana "butt cracks and beer bellies" ROTFLMAO!
JanetR ditto your Dr's back pats. Well done!

    March percentages not my best, procrastination plan B fell by the wayside. I'll be glad to start fresh month, no April Fools ;}

    Lighter, lovelies!

Our clicks have gone forward. I slept well and feel rested for the first time in ages.
When I went down to make the tea I also hoovered the rug and washed the kitchen floor for our visitors! ! I must be feeling better!
The chickens a few gardens down are getting quite noisy. A spring thing? Doing a lot of clucking in the morning.

Beautiful day again, though it's supposed to be getting cooler. Opened the card from my YS . Lovely. :D<3

Just got to make a grain salad with pomegranate seeds and a spinach and feta salad for tonight. The pork pies, scotch eggs and glazed chicken wings are all bought from the posh deli. I thought I might also buy *kitten* and sausages, but it's a different counter so I would have to queue again. As I was leaving both queues were eight deep, so I didn't bother.

    Hoping to run today.

Went out this morning for a walk and ... it was snowing. Blah. I love snow; but it is like the guest that has overstayed it's welcome. Or an annoying child, that keeps showing up in front of your face, as if to say, "Look at me! Watch what I can do!" and you just stare and go "Uh-huh" and wonder when the kid's mom is ever going to come get it. Here that, Mother Nature?! Come get your annoying child!
Rebecca -Was it disappointment in the meal; or were you still thinking about ice cream? Cute van, and I love roundabouts. They are becoming more popular here in the midwest.
Suebdew- Hugs to you! Feel better!
Janetr-Have you been to Scotland? Did your grandfather ever go back to visit? The men and women (and children) of that generation were a different breed! Just amazing the courage to just pick up and go at age 12! This is why immigrants will always have a special place in my heart; courageous souls!
Machka- Do you keep an exercise diary on your computer? My hubby used to, that might be something I would benefit from. It is like an accountability for exercise. Love it! Looks so impressive to see it all there in writing!

New girls!- It is the last day of March! Look for Barbie's final post, it will have the link that will take us to the April thread. Remember when you get to April to bookmark it (click on the star that is on the same line as the title, Women Ages 50+ April 2019, and that way you can find us easier each day!

Oh! I started a batch of sauerkraut yesterday! Fingers crossed it turns out. IF it does, I may do a couple more batches before the warm weather hits, just to try out different seasonings (this batch is just a basic sea salt recipe). But then I will stop when for the warmer months and try it again come fall harvest (colder weather). I also may be speaking too early about this. From what I have heard, it could get quite smelly. I am sure I will not have a problem with it, but Tim will. lol We shall see...

Going to get busy with my day. I have to hit the library today and I haven't yet watched A Quiet Place (I don't want to watch it before bed; I value my sleep too much), so I am going to move myself and my coffee to the living room and watch it this morning. That way if it scare the heck out of me, I will have the whole day to shake off the heebeegeebees!

Love and hugs to you all! Lisa, I know you are reading posts and are very busy but just wanted to say that I miss your voice! ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)

Janetr ... if you haven't been to Scotland, you should go! Edinburgh is amazing and the rest of Scotland (the parts I've seen) are great too.

My husband is Scottish, so of course we picked up some clan souvenirs. :)

@KJLaMore ... yes, I have 2 Excel files. One for exercise in general, which is what you're seeing me post here, and one for cycling. I've been keeping track of my cycling since 1990, and exercise in general since 2015.

We had a lovely weekend in the country but I could have stayed out there for a full 2 weeks instead of 2 days.

I am not ready for this coming week. I've done my laundry and packed my bag for tomorrow, and I'm heading to bed now to try to get 7 hours of sleep ... but I'd rather just spend a day or two or 5 more in bed or sitting on that porch and watching the scenery.

As I am enjoying the temps in the 60's and working in my yard, I think about the year we had snow late in April. Here is Sasha with her new spring haircut standing in the snow. I think also about those of you who still have snow where you are right now

My prep is done, drinks, (AF and A) are cooling, my house is tidy, I've changed my clothes, I've put my face on - ready for my guests.
I managed to fit in doing my roots blonde again and weedkilling the front yard. Plus I went for my 5k run. Yay!
Hate waiting for people to arrive!

Yesterday my DDIL was 3rd woman in her Parkrun! 1st in her age group! Running in the same race was a 90 yr old who was running on his birthday. In his youth he was a good athlete and he holds the 80-84 record and the 85-89. So on his birthday he wanted to set a new record for 90+ . There is no existing record. He got round in 49 mins plus. I get round in 45 mins plus. :o Go him! (Go me too! :D )
The grandchildren are doing the Junior Parkrun today. Not Bea I guess. ;)

Much love to all. Heather UK xxxxxxx
