Swim lesson today. Struggling with getting high elbow with freestyle and doing dolphin kick with weak abs. But still trying.

Finally made it into the lap lane after a week. I ran out of time, so just short of a mile, but the longer I swam, the better it felt. Today should be good. It's going to be 80F and it's Friday, so that usually drives people outside. Hoping for a good long swim...

Yay. I was right. 1.5 miles, and had the lane to myself the entire time :)

Swam Thursday afternoon. Was getting muscle cramps again beginning about 10 days ago. I brought diet tonic water back into my routine--half a cup a few times a day. The smart people say no studies support its use for muscle cramps, but it seems to be working. Even if it's just a placebo effect, It's worth $0.99 a bottle.

I could even swim butterfly fifty minutes into my swim without cramps. I also don't have muscle cramps at night--I hope that lasts.

@kayak4water my neighbor swears by the stuff. I have no idea since I don't get muscle cramps, but she says that if she doesn't drink it, there are nights that she simply can't sleep.

No I can't swim the butterfly no matter what I eat or drink. Unless it's some kind of magic potion :)

A good, long swim on Friday after lifting weights. I had a lane to myself and finally felt like "a swimmer." It's only taken me 4+ years...

Short swim before class. I had a pretty active weekend, so it felt good to get stretched out. Everything felt tight and short. Swimming makes me feel long and flexible. I'm pretty sure I've grown about an inch when I get out.
