@bwcetc Beth, I'm so sorry. that sounds like a very trying time. I hope you get some reprieve and/or some upbeat instants interspersed among the tough ones.

Heather UK-I was also abused,in every way possible and do not have a relationship with my (cough)mother.Ive spent my whole life not being her. I won’t say I know your pain, but I can imagine how you feel. You won’t be her.As for sounding like her,it’s what you grew up with,it’s what you know. You know you’re a good person😊

@cityjaneLondon Heather, I'm sorry about all you had to go through and your mom's image. when I was trying on new bathing suits I also got a shocker last weekend. my mom was 300 lbs at times and surely 250-350 through most of much of her life. when she got older she didn't have the strength to keep up that weight (it actually takes energy to eat so much and carry that weight around). and eventually slimmed down to normal overweight. I'm not at her weight, but it was also the less buoyant curves of my youthful struggle with weight and more lumpy, bumpy curves.

I hope that will motivate me too.

I'm gonna try Keto (max 50 carbs per day), and skipping breakfast, since the current approach these past 2+ months hasn't been working. already slightly over today for carbs by after lunch with 20g of cereal and 22g crisp bread, and lettuce and cuke and a half cup of soy milk and 7g of dark chocolate. it's gonna be a discovery. I often eat beets and carrots and they are not favoured fruits.i have some store bought open carrot juice in the fridge. wine is better than beer I read. well, way cheaper per drink for GF people; a good even organic bottle of wine here can be bought for 15 euros very easily (even less): so 2 euros a drink, whereas the very good GF beer at the specialty shop is 3.50. (and more calories too).

    skipping breakfast may be hard.
    I have done little today.

meeting, then library, I still have cleaning to do...

I did most of those 6.8 km in boots with newly adjusted orthotics. My feet aren't happy. I walked around in bare feet for a few hours when I got home to cheer them up.

All of that walking was transportational walking. I take the bus into the city ... and then I walk and walk and walk everywhere I go.

Beth, my goodness, you have had way more than your share of stress and heartache. Thanks for checking in. Hugs and prayers for some better times.

I do try to eat some breakfast because it seems to derail inappropriate eating later in the day. I am loving, loving, loving my new eating plan. Basically it allows me to eat anything I want as long as I also drink water and eat certain foods, too, which include a daily smoothie and a daily green salad. The beauty is that adding in the nutritious foods kills the craving for the carbs and sugar. Of course there are recommendations for ditching the junk food and sugar, but you can have an occasional snack or dessert - just knowing that having them frequently will interfere with your weight loss. It is amazing! I had a homemade peanut butter cup at bridge to be polite to the hostess that made them and it was too sweet. I opened my diary back up to friends. If any of you are interested in stalking what I eat you can send me a friend request. Lol.

Happy Wednesday! WE are off! We will catch the Harbor Transit bus into downtown Grand Haven (the bus ride is probably the kid's favorite part of the day! lol). This is an annual field trip we take to explore our downtown area. It is a warm morning so we will play at the splash pad for a good hour, then have a light picnic lunch that I have packed (cheese, turkey, crackers, carrot sticks, and clementines), then we will go for our trolley ride, have a scoop of ice cream and then some playground time. By that time it will be about 1:00/1:15; I packed a couple of books to read to the kids while we wait for our HT ride back to my house (1:30ish). We will be getting back, just in time to put them all down for nap! Whew! It is warm, but a bit overcast. Just hope the rain stays away!
Beth- Holy cow! What a month! So sorry to hear about everything with your older son! Also, sending love and hugs on the death of your Zeke! I hope things calm down a bit for you. Hard enough dealing with the strain of getting used to hearing aids/ implant prep. Hugs ((( <3 )))
Heather- Videos and photos of ourselves are wake up calls, at best; BUT please remember that we are always the most critical of ourselves. We can be our own worst enemy. Please keep in mind, that you are an active and strong woman. I bet more than half of those younger people in your dance group will not have the vigor and vitality that you have for life, when they are our age. Stand up straight, do your thing, and dance like no one is watching! <3B)
Pip- The double memorial for Floyd and Bullwinkle is great! Is it in it's own cupboard or set up on shelves in your living area? Beautiful!

Well, hugs to everyone! I better scoot! Filling the kids up with pancakes this morning before we go! ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)

It is our living room. Floyd is still alive, he’s 10 now. Rocky was the first to go. He is the reason why I named her bullwinkle

I’m not a breakfast eater either more my stomach condition tho found if I wait till later it stays down. Doctors food diary 📔 helped figure that out as a kid. I found when certain relatives who eat Brunch instead of Breakfast (were a very mixed race family) that I felt great no nausea it stayed down. When Others fed me breakfast or the school It didn’t.If I eat a late lunch I get sick so at school I never kept food down until I switched to homeschooling. During my public school years I kept nothing down until I got home so a lot of passing out to other issues.Homeschooling y growing up let me have Brunch y Dinner (JR has me on an Early bird special lol) Y I always eat a small meal before bed about 2-3hours ahead of time so no GERDS. Since I have trouble absorbing nutrition the meals have to contain high vitamins so spinach instead of iceberg lettuce 🥬. Meat 🥩 with veggies 🌽. Even my late meal has to be what I missed vitamin wise if I met the goal then woohoo 🎉 anything I want .
Took JR y Daughter grocery shopping y Chick-fil-A.Poor JR he wants the belts buckled but they don’t fit him he managed to buckle one we struggled to get it off! Their just not made for a 2yr old his size. Got to figure out if I need the running stroller today or not(design holds more weight y taller kids) . Will see whatever we do we take precautions it says shoes off we can’t JRs severe eczema y Keratosis Polaris leaves cracks in the skin so bacteria to fungus can get in easily. We have had to fight off infection in the past just from simple things you wouldn’t dream of. So no public pools either he’s not allowed to be kissed or touched by family members with open sores or cold sores etc. Anyone with aids to skin infections can’t touch him until their checked for breaks in their skin to securely wrapped up.Doctor says it gets better with age but babies are delicate until then. Always wondered if being born early caused these issues.
We had fun tho he played in the children’s play area for toddlers y the rest of the time looked bored 😑. He well hid from kids not a social butterfly 🦋 yet his Sister either lol. My Daughter never asks for Military discounts she’s so used to the base forgets. When she’s offbase usually in uniform so no words needed lol.

Heather: I often get a similar shock when I catch sight of myself in a shop window and realise the little old lady there is me! (((Hugs))) on the mother/daughter relationship. My mother and I did not get on at all. She was sweetness and light to everyone except for me!

Beth So sorry! That’s too much for one person to deal with (((Hugs)))

Pip ... I have never had a pet cremated before, but we did so with Zeke. Still waiting for the return of his ashes. Your photo of your memorial has given me some ideas. Thanks. I really wasn't sure what to do with them.

And because Pip is making me feel like a negligent pet mom ... I must post a photo (or 2) of Zeke. He was a gentle dog, given to my son when he was dealing with the loss of his grandfather. Zeke ministered to all of us, but he especially helped my younger son get through a difficult childhood. In some ways, the death of Zeke marked the end of my son's childhood this past week.

awwww. he is so cute looking..... you're not negligent at at all.. i'm sure you loved him as much as we loved ours. along with the ashes, their names are on a plaque on top of their cases. i clipped some of thier hair of each of them. i have their collars in there.

Beth--what a wonderful dog! I know you loved him, and he knew it, too.

He looks SO much like my Justin Wigglebutt!
