Keto diet= good or bad

@GaleHawkins any time you want to explain the "keto anti obesity side effect" I am ready. Please don't hide from me and or ignore me. IMO that is an extremely irresponsible claim to throw out there. Explain yourself...
The subject is Keto diet=good or bad.
As you know I did not do Keto hoping for weight loss back in Oct 2014 but to manage my 40 years of pain related to my Ankylosing Spondylitis form of arthritis by cutting out all added sweeteners and any form of any grain while going heavy on coconut oil because I did not want to start Enbrel injections for health reasons.
While the pain management was underway in a couple weeks it was nearly two months in before the anti obesity side of Keto kicked in for me personally and has enabled me to maintain the 50 pound weight loss started back in 2014 for over 4 years now with no thoughts to calories but just watching my source of calories to this day. Although the weight loss was not my objective I am thankful in my case that anti obesity side effect of was there and after over 4 years I have not regained any of my 50 pound weight loss.
Thanks to my Keto way of eating for nearly 5 years I no longer need help getting out of vehicles or use mobility carts. It turns out making these changes is enabling me to do for others now which does take away time from the web so no one is hiding from you.
Suddenly the two taking care of 8 horses, 9 large dogs and who knows how many cats no longer were able to do it due to a job out of town and a broken hip requiring 6 weeks of bed to bath and back of bed rest. The same day of the fall in the horse lot one of the dogs came up with a broken leg needing personal time to keep the cast dry in rainy weather.
Thankfully after near 5 years of Keto while I still have major limitations from the AS I can move better than in many years because there has been a slight bit of reversing of joint fusion along with good pain management. Yes scooping poop, feeding, putting out hay is a chore but unlike 5 years ago it is doable today at the age of 68.
The article mentioned the military interest in combating obesity with the Keto Way Of Eat so I had just assumed all MFP readers was aware Keto is one tool that works from some to become non obese and to stay that way.
From my personal experiences since Oct 2014 I still say Keto diet=good.
Others seem to be in agreement about the keto way positive side effects.

I question whether keto is healthy. If someone is extremely overweight there are other serious health concerns that need to be corrected making keto an excellent option. However carbs are needed by the brain for maintaining and adding new synapses. Carbs also help improve our moods. Many decades ago I tried Atkins and lost a ton of weight.
Today my focus is on calorie count and eating low added sugar food. Eating low added sugar has kept my appetite in check. I feel great. It means I eat fruit and other foods with naturally occurring sugar. I believe I am protecting my brain. In fact my carb count is low but reasonable. I am losing weight fairly quickly. With my appetite in check I will be able to make this a lifestyle change.4 -
Formula for losing weight healthily:
1/3 carbs, 1/3 fat, 1/3 protein
Determine baseline calories to maintain weight
Subtract 500-1000 calories per day to create calorie deficit
Exercise regularly
Eliminate processed foods and sugar
*Carbs aren't off limits if you stick to whole grains/oats/rice. Stay far away from simple carbs aka sugar and processed food like bread.

The more meat and fat you eat the less antioxidants you intake through fruit and veggies. Your choice, but I eat vegan as much as I can, but that's what works for me.8
