.... does the paid version have no ads? If so, does that decrease the amount of battery this app sucks up?

I'm confused. Why would that have an effect on the battery life? I'm a low tech kinda girl. Maybe that concept is just out of my wheelhouse.
I do have a paid membership and haven't seen any difference in battery life. And you're correct, no ads.1 -
There are many ads that run in the background that you can turn off somehow in your app settings...and those that keep running will suck your battery - fast. Try googling how to turn off ads that run in the background: "Turning off ads that run in the background on myfitnesspal app"
