Getting my water in was fine yesterday but won’t happen today—I woke up vomiting. This is the fourth time in a month 😖. Either my immune system is completely shot or this is a side effect of a med I started right before this nausea-vomiting cycle began. I was supposed to see my doctor this morning about it but had to cancel because I was too weak to drive 😒. New appointment is on Monday

I’m still at the sipping point of liquid intake and have managed to keep about 16 ounces down so far. Maybe another 16 before bed but doubtful if it will be more than that

@HazelMayes -- I hope you are feeling better soon and your doctor can help with a diagnosis and treatment when you go on Monday.

@jeanna-- I'm not sure that my phrasing of "cancels out" is entirely accurate, but since caffeine has a dehydrating effect, I've always not counted any drinks that contain it. To be fair, I'm sure it depends upon how strong you take your tea. In addition to water, my drink of choice is green iced tea. I brew a kettle with one tea bag and then add a lot of ice/water. I'm sure there's a lot more water than actual tea/caffeine, but I still don't count it. :)

AFM-- I had another decent food day--under my allowance and exceeded my protein goal for the first time in the two weeks I've been trying to hit 100 grams. Tomorrow will be harder because I'm going to a friend's dinner party, but I will try to make good choices.

Thank you! I do sun tea with lemons - just Lipton. Maybe I’ll try the green tea.

    Everyone -

I am thinking of making of making batches of cucumber agua Fresca and sandía agua fresca (watermelon). Each has a ton of water, 7 to 8 cups.

I can make with or without sugar or use a natural sweetener.

But I drink my tea unsweetened.

I am hoping I can count these as water.

    Thanks a ton!

Also yesterday bad bad water day....

Ooh! I'm totally down with a water challenge. I never drink enough water, especially during the week because I'm running from meeting to meeting with barely a break. I have a big cup with a straw in the lid that I'll fill up and start carrying around with me.

Haven't been able to get to the gym in several days, I miss it. Also makes it harder to stay within my daily calories. I'm managing to do it, but man it's nice to have the buffer there just in case...

@MidModJenn -- I also need to hit the gym more often. It's so easy to skip it in the summer because I burn so many calories doing yard work and deep cleaning my house. However, it gets me out of the routine, and then on days when I'm not doing any of those activities, I end up going over my calorie allowance.

@jeanna-- I think you can count whatever you feel works to build good habits for you. :)

AFM-- As I predicted, I went way over my calories (but at least stayed under maintenance) at my friend's party yesterday. On the plus side, I drank 112 oz. of water. Today, I was slightly over calories, but I'm only going to manage 64 oz. of water (I'm working on the last 16 oz. right now).

Weight was still up a pound after the weekend in cheeseland, and this week I'm going to South Haven Tuesday through Thursday. I don't usually gain while there because we do so much walking and swimming, but I know my food and drink habits there will make it difficult to lose weight this week.

As much as it pains me to say so, I'm looking forward to the more regular schedule that the school year will bring, I do a lot less social eating and drinking when I have to go to work.

My water goal is to hit a minimum of 50 ounces and I was at 64 today 🤗

I have a drs appointment in the morning so fingers crossed I went down at least half a pound because I’d really love to be in the 200s! I had lost 15 pounds at my last appointment and she didn’t notice 😒. I’d be at 26+ tomorrow if I lose at least half a pound at weigh in and while she’d still probably not notice, it’d make me feel good LOL

Hi everyone - just back from vacation and yep, it's reflected on the scale. Even if I didn't have a scale I would know I gained a few pounds because I always feel it in my hands (carpal tunnel issues). Lots of water to flush it all out and get back on routine. Have a great week!

Whooop! Yesterday was the first day this month I hit my water challenge. 89.6 oz.

I also had to make up a fake food to hit 1000 calories or it wouldn't let me close and log my diary. I'm coming off a week of migraines so my appetite just isn't there.

Wow! Looks like we've got a good group and a water challenge going on. I am jumping in! So... I lost my streak of logging in to MFP. I was at 313 or something days. Went to see my family in Colorado and lost track, gained 2 lbs but had a marvelous time.

I am getting back on the path - (Mantra: Its a journey, not a race... Its a journey, not a race...)

Thank you @HazelMayes and @skinnyjeanzbound for hoping the scale was the lower number. What a wonderful support system you all are! Well, now I'm at 189!!! Yikes. Thanking God that I came back and got right back on the program.

@sweeetypie1 --You're almost to the 240s! Vacations make it really hard to stay on track. My goal while on vacations or for special occasions is just to stay under my maintenance calories. My problem is that I have too many vacation/special occasion days over the summer. :(

    @mzmmh --Welcome!!

@jeanna-- great job on the water! Hope you are feeling better--migraines are the worst.

@cyndy-- welcome home! I also completely lost track of logging while I was in Michigan this week. Back at it today!

@tom-- You can do it! I also need to work harder. :)

AFM-- Spent most of the week in in SoHa, MI. So fun with lots of beach time, but I definitely wasn't eating the best foods. On the plus side, my friend and I went for a two mile walk on Thursday morning--that was in addition to all of the incidental walking--ended the day with over 16k steps. :)

As much as I don't want to go back to work on Friday, part of me craves the stability of a regular schedule. I really wanted to be back in the 180s before returning, but I'm still firmly rooted in the mid-190s. At least it's better than the beginning of the year when I was hovering around 200. My new goal is to reach the 180s by my birthday at the end of September.

Hi folks 🙋. I'm new to this group. I'll give a little history: Several years ago I was at my highest weight of 343. I had a hard time with stairs and pains in my hips, back, knees, heartburn everyday, and very low self esteem. I started dieting and walking, then jogging. Got down to 192 and felt GREAT! Then an emotional rollercoaster hit and I lost all motivation and fell back into the bad habits. Well, next April I will be 50. I don't want to be this heavy when I hit that milestone. I hope to be below 200 by then, with a goal weight of 165. So, here I am.

    Starting weight - 313.3 on 7/23/19
    Current weight - 300.7

    Water challenge: drinking 96oz+ daily.

I was at my biggest I’ve ever known a few weeks ago at 274.4. This is so hard to admit. I have watching my calories for a few weeks and I am now down 8.4lbs!! My real goal is to lose enough weight for my an upcoming trip to Disney in December. I want to fit on the rides without fear!! I have a long way to go but I have to do this to be better for me!

Hello Everyone. I started my weight loss journey a month ago. I’ve lost 12 lbs but still have 100 to go. I really feel alone in this and to be honest I’ve never done a diet long enough to ever lose more than 20 so I’m doubting myself a lil bit. Excited to be starting over n here with everyone else. Best of luck to everyone!!

@dustyspal -- Welcome to the thread! I'm turning 50 in about 6 weeks. :) My ultimate goal weight is somewhere around 165 as well. I made it as low as 183 a few years ago and maintained that weight for a couple of years, but a shoulder injury followed by a terrible case of bronchitis (that lasted about 10 weeks!) derailed my exercise routine and I gained back about 20 lbs. Now I'm slowly (glacially) working my way back down.

@NurseKALM -- Welcome to the thread! I had a really hard time sharing my weight when I first joined this community. However, this is a safe place where you will find non-judgmental support.

    @JessT1299 --Wow--92 lbs. is a great accomplishment!

@patticakeketo -- Welcome! This group is a great place to find support and encouragement to keep going when you feel like quitting. I've been posting in this thread for years, and the accountability has helped me when I'm feeling defeated by an injury or plateau. Are you doing keto? I do much better when I limit carbs and increase my protein, and I've been toying with the idea of going full keto. Just curious how you like it and if you use any particular program, app, or website.

AFM-- My last weekend before school starts on Friday was pretty productive. Yesterday, I vacuumed out the interior of my car and shampooed the floor mats. Afterwards I mowed my lawn. Today, I cleaned out my linen closet and went to the gym. Plenty of water both days. :) I was slightly over my calorie allowance yesterday, but at least I met my protein goal. Today, I'm still 26 grams away from my goal, but I still have almost 300 calories to play with, so I'm going to try to make it.
