Thank you all for your support, hugs, and prayers! You all are the best.
Have a headache today but feels like sinuses. Took an allergy pill and hope that works. Doc tomorrow for both of us. Me to check on BP with less meds (good by the way!) and DH for results if ultrasound and bloodwork before hernia surgery.
I worked on our budget all day yesterday and have a number to share with DH for all purchases outside of bills. Now to put it into action....
Heat going down a little finally, just headaches which are allergies related now. On the upside!

well I am going to speak to the nursing director and make sure he has a fridge and a microwave in his room. they cannot keep us from taking care of his needs as a family and if they try any shady stuff will make a complaint to to state.. don't get me riled up when it comes to family..
And this, my friend, is why no one can ever call you wishy-washy or without a backbone ...

Debby ... I'm glad your daughter is safe at the moment and will keep her and your grandson in my prayers.
Heather ... I'm so sorry about your friend. It is sad and it's understandable that you feel sad as well.
Tracy ... you had a wonderful wedding photographer! The photos are beautiful!
Karen in VA ... time for a nap!
Lisa ... I have no doubt you will only take so much before having it out with Susan ... hopefully that doesn't mean ditching the job as well.
Margaret ... we've considered hard flooring in the area where the wheelchair comes in, but the room is cold in the winter and hard surfaces cause a lot of sound reverb making it difficult for me to hear. So industrial carpet it is!
Carol ... I am no decorator either! I put a chair in the corner and it will be there until the day they take me out of the house feet first! I don't, however, like clutter so pitching things on a regular basis keeps my home from getting stuffy. Given that I collect antique cups and my husband likes to go to estate sales, this takes major effort.
Chicken Pozole Salad ... my husband didn't make himself a sandwich later, so I'm calling it a success! Yay! The flavors were really good, but I would probably not follow the instructions for how to cook the chicken ... the method used resulted in somewhat dry chicken. But I really liked sautéing hominy! Had never done that before. I'll eat leftovers again tonight for dinner, but will have to fry my husband a pork chop or something. Can't push the envelope two days in a row!
Hearing Aids Update ... these things are a pain in the dupa. I am having a really difficult time adjusting to even the minimal amount of sound the audiologist is allowing into my ears. As a result, my brain is so overwhelmed with hearing a turn signal for the first time in decades, that it can't manage hearing speech at the same time. I tell people while taking out a hearing aid, "one moment, I have hearing aids in and can't hear you!" LOL! It will get better, I know, but sheesh...

Some of you may remember my friend who dropped a knife on her foot and had to have surgery and a cast for 6 weeks.
She has now got an ulcer on that spot and learns she has to go in for more surgery to clear it, plus later treatment for her bunions. This is one of the fittest women I know.
She was coming next Thursday for the night, but now we are changing it to Sunday/Monday. I'm already in house prepping mode, washing sofa cushions etc.
I am so fond of her.

Beth near Buffalo: I am in sympathy for your needed hearing aid adjustment. DH has them, too. We go to a local audiologist and she’s very good about tuning the hearing aids when needed. He has had hearing aids for many years and is used to them. I think it must be really challenging for a “newbie.” That said, DH sometimes takes his out because he needs to rest from them.
Heather: I’m sorry your friend hurt herself. I hope the upcoming visit is filled with fun and good times. :flowerforyou:
DH is scheduled for an appointment with his surgeon next week. They will make plans together and figure out what is best for him. I am hoping that there will be relief from chronic pain in the long run, and that he will be able to enjoy life again.

Barbie--I hope your lunch went well and was short.
Heather--Not a lot of places put much stock in customer service anymore.

Terri--Thanks I needed to hear that positive message.
RV Rita--I understand, more month then money.
KJ--How terrible for Trentin and I agree I hope it is his meds and they can get it worked out soon. How scary for his mom.
Barbara--Hugs and prayers
Debby--prayers for her and you. It is so hard to watch our children have something like this and not try to take over and protect them.
Well I am up to page 47 and out of time.

Some of you may remember that I was trying to put together a list of quick stress relievers because I wasn't pleased with the ones I found ... ones which assumed that people had all kinds of time and could go off for massages and 3 week vacations and all sorts.
So ... this is what I've compiled so far. Feel free to make more suggestions!! For my list they need to be easily incorporated into a busy day.
1. Go outside. Fresh air and nature have been shown to reduce stress and anxiety. Get some sun. Vitamin D is a powerful mood booster.
3. Exercise. Do more of it to feel better mentally and physically.- If you sit a lot, stand up once an hour.
- Take a walk during your lunch break.
- Walk as part of your commute.
- Set up exercise equipment at home to be able to get a bit of exercise.
- Stretch to relax your body and mind.
- Try progressive muscle relaxation to feel relaxed from head to toe
3. Get more sleep.- Sleep mask
- Headband
- Earplugs
- Separated beds
- Hot water bottle
- Nice new pjs
- Lavender
4. Read a book. Even just a little bit on weekends before bed.
5. Pamper yourself: get a haircut, dye your hair, do your nails, try a new makeup.
6. Food & drink.- Drink green tea. It contains an amino acid that can reduce stress.
- Drink your favourite teas, but don’t drink caffeine after 5 pm. A flavoured chamomile is relaxing.
- Eat some antioxidant-rich dark chocolate to lower stress hormones in your body. Honey and mangoes are also supposed to be stress-relieving foods.
- Get more omega-3’s from sources like salmon and avocado. They can reduce stress and anxiety for people who like them.
- Bake something nice … like lava cake which takes about 30 min to make in total.
7. Relax.- Rub your feet over a golf ball or other textured ball. You can get an impromptu relaxing foot massage by rubbing your feet back and forth over a golf ball.
- Drip cold water on your wrists. When stress hits, head for the bathroom and drop some cold water on your wrists and behind your earlobes. There are major arteries right underneath the skin, so cooling these areas can help calm the whole body. Good for calming hot flashes too.
- Take a break from computers and social media for a day or two. Give your eyes a break.
- Try some deep-breathing and progressive relaxation exercises to start your day.
- Be Alone. Not everyone can get to a cabin the woods or an empty beach (as nice as that would be!), but five minutes of alone time can help you collect your thoughts and clear your head.
- Try a diffuser. Aromatherapy can be an effective stress-reliever.
8. Prepare.- One thing at a time.
- Write it down so you don’t forget. Use calendars.
- List of to do and list of done.
- Stop procrastinating. It’ll just make you more stressed later.
- Simplify. Get someone else to do it.
- Prepare for morning the night before.
- Avoid tight fitting and scratchy clothes.
9. Listen to music while commuting or working. The right playlist can boost mood and increase energy.
10. Talk it out. Sharing your stress with a therapist or loved one can be very therapeutic.
11. Pet or play with an animal.
12. Look at cat pictures and other cute animals.
13. Do a Crossword Puzzle or Sudoku. Brain games that require lots of concentration can help take our mind off whatever’s worrying us.
14. Hug someone. Studies show physical intimacy is a great coping mechanism.
15. Laugh.
16. Change the channel. Look at things from a different perspective.
17. Stand up for yourself. Sometimes we need to put our foot down and say, “I’m doing this for me.”

Great list, Machka. Suggested additions, which you can keep, edit or discard as you wish
* Keep exercise bands next to your favorite chair and use when you watch television
* Try guided meditations on a free app like Calm or Insight Timer.
* Prior to going to bed, sip 4 oz of tart cherry juice to enhance sleep. It is naturally rich in melatonin.
* List 5 things you are grateful for. There are free gratitude journal apps online.

106* here y humid Hubby working Construction 🚧 job today outside he’s miserable dressed in heavy pants, hard hat, vest,y heavy shirts y steel toe boots for safety.
Saw Raccoon outside this morning before 5am didn’t think nothing of it..just looked outside saw our new rug!!!! He tore it to pieces this is a rubber fiber heavy duty Matt!!! Nothing stronger out there other than pure plastic only which is slippery on wet -to icy ❄️ days!
Just finished a 1 hour battle with JR to get him to stop jumping hitting the floor!
2yr olds argument is Superman can fly so he Special has Powers too!
My argument Superman not real (Daughter accepted Truthful factual arguments )
JR - TES HE Is!!!!!!
My argument your from Earth 🌍 so you can’t he’s from Krypton.
Then he saw Super Grover flying on KIDS YouTube (yes there’s 2 YouTube’s one for small kids y 1 for older teens y adults) so Thankyou PBS for backing up a 2yr olds argument! Then he showed me his super bunny app started trying to fly very unsuccessfully again.
So now everyone who flies is from Krypton
Folks who cannot are from Earth 🌍
He bought it for now most unfactual argument I have ever had in my life.
Exhausted cooking was him trying to escape the house to climbing so I spent more time at the baby gate than cooking finally stuck him in the high chair so I could finish. He figured out how to sit in the edge of the tub 🛁 insisting of brushing his teeth there which I managed to stop 🛑 . Only a year of this to go wooohooo!
