***ROUND 86 (my 16th)***
Day/Weight/Comment
08/11 130.6 Stuck! I was at this weight all last round.
08/12 131.8 Expected this. To get out of my stall, I ate a few hundred 'extra' calories yesterday (kinda- I'm usually a couple hundred under, so I made sure to use them all).
08/13 130.4 Hey there 130-point-something, my old friend, how ya been? Knew I'd see you again.
08/14 130.4 Asking for a friend, does CICO even work for losing the last 5-7 lbs??
08/15 129.6 The 120s!!! Nice to see- very nice- but here's why I'm not too excited about it: I barely ate yesterday! Hey, we can all bust plateaus if we don't even eat a measly 1200 calories, but OBVIOUSLY that's a failing plan. It's honestly a little depressing because I only broke into the 120s after barely eating, so how the heck am I supposed to get there eating normally?!
08/16 130.4 Surprise, I ate yesterday! Like a real, live human! Expected, yet I *was* hoping to see another 129. Even though the difference between yesterday's and today's number isn't even a pound and I look exactly the same, I like the lower number better, ha. It's kind of similar to how when you see something marked $5.99- intellectually, you KNOW it's 6 bucks, yet on some level, you're thinking, awesome, only $5. For me, anyway, my feelings about weight loss aren't always guided by rational thinking. Probably the biggest gift of this challenge beyond losing weight is gaining insights into how I think, which should help me maintain eventually.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Goals for this round:
1) Thoughtful food choices and good hydration
2) An hour of walking or other activity each day
Day/Weight/Comment
08/11 – 185.2 – Not bad for a post-party weigh-in, but I expect to see another bounce this week. Although most of my house guests left today, my son and his fiancé are here for the week. We have lots of outings planned, since this is essentially another vacation. I’m hoping to make good choices, get some exercise, and end this round without a gain.
08/12 – 185.2 – Beach day! Did my best to stay hydrated, but didn’t make the best food choices today. All that sun and surf and the wine with dinner have made me too lazy to log before calling it a night. Oh, well. I think I just need a break.
08/13 – 186.4 – Big bounce, but not unexpected. Spent the day walking around the city and made better food choices today so we’ll see what tomorrow brings.
08/14 – 185.8 – Looking better. Weather cancelled today’s amusement park trip, but I think we were all ready for a quieter day. Although we had dinner out, food choices were more in line with my usual fare. Too much sodium again, but I stayed under my calorie limit. Didn’t get my walk in, but I managed to get some chores done while the others were out. So overall, not a bad day.
08/15 – 186.2 – Okay, this wasn’t unexpected, but I’m starting to question the wisdom of daily weigh-ins during a vacation week. On one hand, it’s useful to see the day-to-day fluctuations in a less controlled environment. The bounces really haven’t been that big and it’s reassuring to see that I’m still within a pound of this round’s starting weight. On the other, I feel like I’m starting to resent that nagging reminder of the next day’s weigh-in popping up when I just want to relax and enjoy myself. Do I really need ice cream? Should I have that second glass of wine? Why did I eat that salty pickle? Vacations and social events are part of life, so I know I need to work this out if I’m going to have long-term success.
08/16 – 188.4 – Yikes! I haven’t seen this number since the end of July. Ah, well. I knew August was going to be challenging. Yesterday was the last day of my son’s visit, and we wrapped up with a day on the boardwalk with some of the grandkids, drinks at a local biergarten, and a late, leisurely dinner at a lovely Cuban restaurant, followed by a moonlit stroll on the beach. It was wonderful! I ate - and drank - all the things and came home a little too full, but also relaxed and happy. Today we were up at 5 to drive to the airport. Considered skipping the weigh-in, but figured what the heck, I might as well see what the damage is. In the big scheme of things, if it takes another round or two to reach my goal, so be it. Made good choices, logged my food, and even fit in a walk today, but I’ll be setting off for another few days of celebration tomorrow. And I’m not going to stress about it.

Round # 18 for me
Day/Weight/Comment
08/11 392.8
08/12 395.0
08/13 394.4 – Well I am back. Had a busy weekend. I am still trying to get back on track. I had a great WW meeting. I attended the meeting. The goal is to attend the meeting again Saturday and to lose weight. I had a 1.2 pound gain this week. For a total of 3.6 gain. ☹ But I am going to turn this around. Not worried, just going to keep at it is all. I got my 7000 steps in yesterday. My eating could have been better. I had a salad last night instead of fast food.
08/14 395.8 Salty foods but an overall ok day.
08/15 394.4 back down or a maintain. I will take it…. Struggling. Trying to eat better today. I got my 7000 steps yesterday and will get them today. Keep rocking it you all--I see a lot of losses! :flowerforyou: If you have not lost today that is ok too because you are here and checking in and that is what counts and will help you on your journey. It will help us all get there. Keep up the good work Everyone!! :flowerforyou:
08/16 392.6 Another blue day and another blue dot day yesterday too! Not enough blue dot days this week to have a loss this week at WW's weigh in tomorrow. But I am going for weigh in and staying for meeting also. I will make 5 days in a row 7000 step goal this week if I get it today which I will. Eating has been pretty good today too. My goal this weekend is to get in the 380's by Monday. I have a BBQ tomorrow and I must make Mac and Cheese for it. Not sure what I was thinking when I volunteered to bring M&C. But I have a plan. As long as I don't have 2 bad days on weekend, I usually do ok. But 2 bad days is never good. Have a great weekend everyone!! :flowerforyou:

My journey … ("I May Not Be Where I Want To Be, but I’m Not Where I Use To Be!")In 2003 Weighed over 600 lbsMy highest weight was 611 in 2003. Weight in 2004 before weight loss surgery was 580. Lowest weight after surgery was 302 in 2007. "I May Not Be Where I Want To Be, but I’m Not Where I Use To Be!"
In 2005 Weighed under 400 lbs
In 2007 lowest weight after surgery 302lbs
I joined MFP on March 27, 2010 weighing in at 388 pounds. I was re-gaining weight and stumbled up on it while trying to get back on track. I was determined never to see 400+ on that scale again for me.
I have been morbidly obese all my life. I have a lifetime of mental and physical scars from obesity. In October 2004 I had Gastric Bypass surgery. WLS (Weight Loss Surgery) was the best gift that I could and did give to myself.
Between 2008 and 2010 I gradually gained back 80 of almost 300 pounds lost initially after weight loss surgery. I never reached my goal weight of 200 pounds. I still managed to keep off over 65 percent of the weight I lost which is very good and I am very proud of my accomplishments since 2004. It has literally changed my life for the better on all levels. I am here to lose re-gained weight and to reach my initial goal weight. I am in no hurry. I am taking this one day at a time and I am in it for the long haul.
Surgery did not fix the head. It is a good tool and the best gift I have given to myself, but it was not the easy way out as many people think. Once the honeymoon period is over after the WLS it is up to the patient to keep the weight off.
On August 29, 2011-- I was admitted to Intensive Out Patient Eating Disorder Program to learn how to manage my binge eating disorder effectively. The program is wonderful indeed and will be instrumental in me reaching all of my goals. The focus of this program was how to eat and not diet. Weight loss was not a goal of the program. I actually gained 20 pounds in program. But I had to get thru a lot of stuff and my the time I was released I had stopped gaining. I was discharged from program on December 3, 2011.
My tool is still working for me today. My head is still the issue. SO the struggle continues. I will never beat myself up again. I fight the fine fight faithfully and positively everyday. Because that is what will get me to my goals one day. Even though it may not show up on the scale every day -- Everyday I make progress one way or another just by showing up, waking up and trying.
Giving up is not an option for me. Perseverance, Patience, & Positive thinking will help me reach my goals…… and the same is true for you too!! We have the power within us.:flowerforyou: SW 373.4 - 1/3/19 GW 299 - 12/31/19 :flowerforyou:Round 64 - SW 373.4 EW 369 (-4.4)

Day/Weight/Comment
08/11 130.6 Well I expected that after a record 3 pound loss at the end of last round that my weight would go back up - expect that a large part of that drop was water weight from being out in the sun/heat the last 3 days. Ended up with less exercise yesterday, but quads and right ankle definitely needed a rest. Was doing fine on food and even managed to fit in a tablespoon size scoop of homemade garlic ice cream, but DH opened a bag of fake fritos late last night after watching a movie, so yesterday ended up being sort of a cheat day - I definitely need one now and then and probably was under calories if I ate back exercise calories. Anyway expect the weight will stabilize over the next 10 days if I can keep up activity and log food while out of town. NSVs: MFP prediction for today was 133.5, so clearly under that and still tracking a 1.2 lb loss over 7 days and 5 for 30 days! Also while packing for trip to mountains, found a small black sleeveless silk dress in my closet that fits perfectly! Goal is to stay active on trip to the mountains and wear it out for dinner!

08/12 299.2 Yay!
08/13 299.8 First thank you everyone!! I’m far from the finish line, but it’s so nice to hit this point in my journey. It’s been a long time since I’ve been under 300. My next big goal is 250, that will be my lowest weight in about 20 years.
I’m not surprised by a bounce, I’m just happy that it’s not higher. Yesterday I was hungry and craving high calorie, high sodium foods. I knew that I wasn’t thirsty so I ended up opting for some high sodium soup that I could fit into my calories. I felt a lot better afterwards. My nsv yesterday was listening to what my body needed without going on a binge.
08/14 299.8 I’m okay with maintaining I’m still retaining some water from the high sodium day. I’m also a little stiff and sore this morning from deep cleaning and rearranging my kitchen. Lastly I’m still waiting for tom to show, but I’ve had a few of the signs that it should arrive in a few days. I struggled a lot less yesterday and even turned down ordering dinner in because of a stressful afternoon and instead stayed on plan. I’m really proud of myself for not turning to food and to deal with my stress.
08/15 299.4 Hopefully I’ll keep dropping I’d love some more distance from 300.
08/16 298.6 I was out and about yesterday and will probably be again today or tomorrow. It’s been a long time since I’ve been out and about, I hated being seen and hated how much effort it took just to get to the car. Because of this I planned a HUGE dinner because I hadn’t had much earlier in the day. However as I was measuring it out I stopped at about half my planned portions of everything going I think this is more than enough. In the past I would have easily eaten three times the amount I had planned to serve myself. As a result after dinner I was under 1200 calories for the day, so I treated myself to an ice cream bar that was well within my calories and macros.
All in all it was a very good day. My nsv was walking around Walmart, I hadn’t walked in a store for at least three years.

Slept over 6 hours people! Amazing. I walked 131 minutes yesterday & I painted cabins for 102 minutes so the extra calorie burn over my normal work was 1,111. That is all that saved me. Have a good weekend everyone & forgive me for tomorrow as I went to the fish fry tonight. I only ate half a meal but it was still too carby. But we’ll talk about that tomorrow! For now I am still trying to focus on the 10 day goal. 2 pounds, 2 pounds, 2 pounds. I have just one pound to go.

08/11 - 236.3 - was not as strict as I wanted to be yesterday; I didn’t log so I’m not 100% sure the “damage” but this is all about balance and being consistent when you can’t be perfect.
08/12 - DNW - skipped the scale intentionally this morning, didn’t want to make my Monday even Monday-y-er because of the fluctuations. Today I was spot on with eating though for the first time in a while. Who knew making good choices throughout the day would make it easier to stay under my target calories Lolol!
08/13 - 238.7 - 🙄; still plan on making today a good one.
08/14 - 238.7 - 🤷🏾♀️ have a work function tonight (and tomorrow actually). I will enjoy a glass of wine and try to keep the food choices light.
08/15 - DNW - choosing not to weigh for the next several days. Several work functions this week - I tried to make good choices (and made better than I would have otherwise) but not the best in water and wine 😂 I feel the water retention/bloat all the way down to my feet. Gym in the AM. Still checking in even though I am skipping the scale for my own sanity.
08/16 - DNW - water retention feels much less today thank God! Stayed in track today eating wise but did not make it to the gym as planned. Tomorrow!

08/11 130 Only a small bounce up. Considering a few extra carbs yesterday, this isn't surprising. Hopefully todays carbs and slackardly behavior don't do me in for tomorrow.
08/12 130 Had an easy day yesterday. I only got in 7,000 steps. I did take a 30 minute hilly walk and do 10 minutes of hula hooping. Happy that the number didn't go up. It's been a really looonggggg week. A week ago Friday I had a breast biopsy and last Tuesday I got the results that it is invasive lobular carcinoma. So far, I don't have any details other than a diagnosis. I'll meet with the team of doctors this Wednesday and find out prognosis and treatment options. Wednesday seems REALLLLY far away still (although my son starts school Tuesday and that seems really soon!) The good news is that this cancer is really hard to detect and I'm pretty sure that they are thinking it is really small still. Waiting is just so hard! Luckily, too, my good habits have been pretty much sticking with me.
08/13 129 That was a nice thing to see this morning! Yesterday I did a strength class, zumba, and a short walk. Only had one cookie and half a scone along with the healthy stuff.
08/14 130 Meeting with the docs today.
08/15 130 I managed to deal ok with food and stress yesterday. We met with the doc team yesterday(surgeon, medical oncologist, radiology oncologist, 3 residents and a med student and a nurse practitioner all crammed into a regular patient room!) They confirmed that they think the cancer is small and stage 1 with no lymph involvement, but because cancer is present at one biopsy site, and pre-cancer at the other two, the solution is mastectomy (or double mastectomy). I still need to meet with genetics doctors and plastic surgeon(s) (I guess there WAS a limit to how many people fit in the room!) before the surgery is scheduled. I am trying to deal with the inability to plan anything until the dates are set and meanwhile trying to distract myself with long walks and lots of zumba. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers!
08/16 130 Interesting. My weight is NEVER this level.

Goal for this round: to lose 3 lbs.
Ultimate Goal Weight: 140
8/11 – 177.9 Having a family dinner tonight (steak) so the goal is to keep portion sizes small but still enjoy the meal.

8/12 – 177.9 Kept calories low today to see if I can get a drop in numbers tomorrow.
8/13 – 176.4 Will be playing tennis today so fingers crossed for another drop tomorrow.
Activity: (Played 1 ½ hours of singles)
8/14 – 175.0 No Exercise today.
8/15 – 175.5 A small gain. Could have been the spaghetti for dinner or the lack of exercise yesterday. Activity: Played 1 ½ hrs of tennis (doubles) today so hoping for better numbers tomorrow.
8/16 – 174.6 Activity: Tennis (doubles) 2 hrs 15 min
8/17 – 175 Drinks with dinner last night. Hoping I can finish out the weekend with a loss but I usually have a harder time making good decisions on the weekends.

8/11 200.9 lbs 6h18m/79/11:38pm - blew my calories on Friday night, so this isn't unexpected. It's also not permanent. Look out, One-derland, your girl is coming for ya....
8/12 199.7 lbs 6h4m/80/10:51pm BUSY day, but had good energy throughout. Back below 200 and sleep score at 80, so I'm starting my Monday right.
8/13 199.0 lbs 5h47m/73/10:52pm Sleep still not optimal, and feeling sore & run down. Pleased with the continued losses on the scale, tho.
8/14 200.5 lbs 4h39m/70/11:16pm So sore - muscles probably retaining water - and my feet & ankles are a little swollen; wish I'd been able to get to Zumba last night. Busy day at work, tho... will get to Combat tonight. Not sweating the gain today. We'll see again tomorrow.
8/15 199.9 lbs 4h51m/69/10:38pm Combat last night - dragging my way through it. Feeling completely worn down & mood is suffering, too. Not making goal this round.....
8/16 199.9 lbs 7h34m/91/9:42pm Five more nights of sleep like this and I think I'll feel pretty good! Had a difficult day... was over-emotional and blew out my calories. Hope today gets me back on track.
8/17 200.5 lbs 7h13m/86/11:08pm Not unexpected after Thursday's calorie blow out, but good to have slept well. Hoping to clear the funk today - another concert tonight, so I have to bank cals & carbs.

Round 85:208.8. -3.2lbs. (waist/navel/hips 34.5/38.25/44.5)
Round 86 goals: fast 3 days. Stick to proper macros on eating days. Close all rings every day
08/11: 209.8. My weight popped up again. What a pain! I will be fasting until Wednesday morning, maybe longer if I feel good. Yesterday I started with a bad stomach ache. I never get stomach aches. Hopefully fasting makes it go away fast because it is very uncomfortable
08/12: 207.8 still continuing the water fast. Yesterday was a wonderfully relaxing day. I did exactly what I wanted. I ate about 200 calories of chicken so not a perfect fasting day. Today will hopefully be better. I am
up bright & early to get in a sunrise walk.
08/13: 206.2. Still continuing the water fast. I did eat food yesterday. Probably 300 calories. I was like a bad kid eating when I was home alone. I would like to not eat for a full 24 hours because at this point I am afraid I am just restricting calories and not getting the benefits of true fasting. I feel good, slept relatively well. I missed my sunrise walk this morning, because I slept in, so I will have to figure out some time to get some exercise today.
08/14: 207. I ended my fast earlier than planned, yesterday at supper. I was very hungry. I am sure next time will be easier. It took a long time to fall asleep & it probably would have been better to break my fast in the morning as I had planned. My next fast will be in 7 days.
08/15: 209.4. I expected a jump up but not quite this much! We had supper at an Italian restaurant with a supplier so wine was flowing & dessert was had. Such is life. I did not eat 7000 calories so it should drop back down in a couple of days.
08/16: 208.4. Slowly coming back down. I did well with eating yesterday. No snacking, just had a pork chop for supper. The fast I did reminded me that I don’t have to eat just because get a hunger pang. It passes & I will survive. Today I will do yoga. I missed my sunrise walk but my dog is stilll waiting so I will take him for a short walk so he can settle.
08/17: 208.2 yesterday was a day full of anxiety for no reason. Weird how that happens some days. It happens to me much less now. I made some not so great choices but kept my calories low by skipping supper.
