Yes, I haven't done the research on the J-tube, but I assume it would be similar to those who have had a gastric bypass and drink, it hits them harder, greater risk of alcohol poisoning. I'd have to look up the why. It's been a long time since I looked at it. In the old days, they used to use coke/pepsi to declog j-tubes.8 -

Coke is still #1 choice for clogs and is also good for partial bowel obstructions. Grape juice works great too.7 -

Generally in hospital, we don't use coke anymore. There are a couple of meds (one's an enzyme, again, I'd have to look it up) that they mix in warm water that help break it down. Ideally preventing the clog in the first place is better, obviously.8 -
