Whats your current motivation for losing weight?

I have a main goal which is to be healthy & fit. I use my hr in rest to measure this.
I also have 3 motivators:
1. I cannot wear 90% of my clothes as they are too small;
2. I will not fit in my diving suit this winter when I will need extra layers of insulation underneath - buying a new suit is not an option as it is way too expensive;
3. I want to be a good example for hubby who needs to loose but lacks the motivation at this moment.6 -
I have suspected crown's. I'm just trying to make myself bit healthier and hopefully help symptoms but a lot of it is so I can feel less weak and useless.3

My 30th wedding anniversary in 94 days.
We eloped when we were 18 and 20. I’d like to look leaner and hotter than I did in 1989.6 -

I'm so vain. We're celebrating our 25th anniversary in Nov. and I want to have professional pictures taken. My spouse is lean and fit and he's 9 years older than me.5

Just ordered the cutest shirt and the arms are tight... I'm not returning it!!
Also, I've yo-yo'd up and down between 160-135 for ten years and it takes a lot of work to get it down every time. I don't want to do it again anymore2 -
I took the kids to Marshalls for back to school shopping. I ended up finding 2 cute bikini's (it was originally$118 and for $30) and buying!!! 1 is a tankini but the other is triangle top with itty bitty bottom!! I need to step it up and get ripped~!2

Uncomfortable in my clothes and just not happy with my weight.1

I have always been good with exercise but I tend to be an emotional eater and also have trouble with snacking. I lost my dad a couple of years ago and put on some weight with that, then lost my dog last fall (he was only 2, so was a shock) and put some more on with that. Plus the last 3 or 4 years my husband got me into weightlifting and while I have put on muscle, I have fat on top which I feel is covering it up too much. I don't feel like I look bad, just not as good as I would like. I need to get my diet under control so I can uncover the muscle I have
My life exactly! I’m an emotional eater too! I’ve also put on muscle which is hiding under 30lbs of fat! Even though I’ve been using MyFitnessPal properly since December 2017 I’ve regained the weight that I lost. I seem to get tired when combining exercise with a deficit. Maybe I’m being too aggressive? I am quite active: 10000 steps a day and 5 pretty intense workouts plus my job as a designer. My main motivation for losing weight is my clothes don’t fit anymore! I was a uk size 8-10 now that’s so tight and size 12 is getting tight for me too!2 -

This can definitely happen and is part of why I've developed a few different workout plans and have a scheduled rotation through them. Mind you, my job is sitting on my butt all day at a desk. I have a couple "after work" activities I've started up like a martial art and riding some horses, but those activities are somewhat flexible depending on my week, so I don't count them as my workouts - more just to keep me more active and off the couch!
Workout Plan #1 is the one I do the most - 5x/week, mostly lifting with some cardio, 2 days the cardio is more intense/longer, the other days it's mostly just a 15-20min warm up, followed by ~60 min of lifting.
Workout Plan #2 is my intense plan. I do this one for 6 weeks, 2x/year. It takes about 2 hours/day and is very intense. I have learned the hard way that even if I can physically keep up with this, mentally I cannot keep it up longer than 6-8 weeks. After that I simply burn out and end up quitting all together (it peters off, but that ends up being the result).
Workout Plan #3 is the least intense and mostly for when I'm returning after a break and/or just need a break from my regular workouts for a week or two. It is 3x/week full body lifting, 2x/week cardio, and that's it. ~30-45 min to complete.
Getting enough sleep is REALLY important for me too! I can give up a little sleep once or twice if I must in order to get my workouts in, but 2+/times a week and it affects everything. So making that a priority is really important for me.5 -
My current motivation is my 3month old and my 2.5yr old. That and my 40th is right around the corner, ugh.4

My boyfriend and I moved in together and his bad eating habits influenced me and caused us both to let ourselves go a bit so we decided we really needed to get back in shape & stick to it. He changed up his workout slightly and ate a little better. Where as I have been super dedicated and stuck to tracking my macros for the past few months with the exception of a couple vacations. I have been stuck at a consistent weight which is only a few lbs less than I was and he’s down like 20lbs. It’s been so frustrating seeing him drop weight with slight changes and I’m stuck but that is motivating me more to get where I want to be!4

About 2 years ago, I was doing rather well in terms of weight loss and sports and all. Then I quit smoking 18 months ago, plus I experienced some injuries/muscle overuse issues and I could not sport as I wanted for some periods of time in between. So I basically swapped one compulsive behavior (smoking) with another (eat sweet stuff, chocolate and ice cream being major victims in this story).
Long story short, I gained some weight that I want to get rid of, plus find better ways to deal with those triggers that make me want to stuff my face with unhealthy stuff. Even though it's "only" a few kg we are talking about, I find that it makes me feel *meh*, impacts sports, and that I don't fit into my favorite clothes anymore.
My hope is that by tracking my food regularly again and by exchanging with other people on a similar mission, I can make the changes that I need to do and to create some lasting change of habit.4 -
A trip to the Bahamas in Nov. I would like to lose about 15 lbs, 20 would be nice. My thighs jiggle a lot and the chub rub is painful at the beach/pool2

I so feel your pain!! Basically what happened to me as well - I moved to be with my boyfriend & discovered that I cannot eat like he does. When I was single, I often skipped dinner for just a snack - now that there's my boyfriend & his son - I usually cook and we sit down to dinner together. (not been good for my waistline) My boyfriend is very active and doesn't work in an office - I sit on my butt at a computer all day. It's forced me to be more serious about tracking food and fitting in workouts.2 -

It's so annoying sometimes!! I have a friend (guy) who simply trimmed back on the amount of soda he was drinking (barely) and started working out twice a week. 2X a week!!! Still eats out all the time, although maybe slightly smaller portions? No measuring, weighing, counting, or getting up at 5 am 5 days a week to workout - he's dropped nearly 20 pounds, while I've dropped like 2 or 3.
Yes, he had more to lose to begin with (about 40 pounds total I think, while I started with about 25 to lose), but my weight wouldn't budge without doing all of the above, he barely raises a finger and the weight melts off. And then tries to give me a hard time about only eating small meals/etc, because "it's not that hard to lose weight and it doesn't take doing all that...."6 -
Like Honey Badger it comes off really hard. It takes me a month to loose one pound. At 68 I have one hip replacement and don't want to get the other one done too. It bothers me a lot less since I've lost 7 pounds. Also my back feels better. The bonus is that my clothes all fit better. I would like to be at the middle or low side of the weight chart instead of at the very highest which is where I've crept up to in the last few years. If I can avoid the traumas, (mother dying, horrible job, best friend with leukemia, kids moving back home, hip replacement) that caused the weight creep maybe I can do it this time.
