Speaking of bras made me think of this. I have some of the exercise tops, you know, the real clingy stuff. Anyway, even tho there is a piece of material around the top area, you can still see the nipple through. What do others do?

If exercising at home ... I don't do anything.

If going for a walk outside, I put one of these on over top ... I've got a whole drawer full of them ...

If going for a jog outside, I'll have a good sports bra underneath and probably one of those sports tanks (above) over top.

Regarding bras, I think I've worn underwire once in my life, hated it, and never again. I wear various types of comfy sports bras.

    Bit breezy last night ...

    7k42e1uii5me.png

This is wind direction, wind speed (km/h) and wind gusts (km/h)
    6r7jk0tf5awv.png

It put a trampoline through someone's roof, ripped the roof off a school, and of course the usually collection of trees and branches down.

For us personally, it took a fairly solid wheelbarrow that was upside down in our yard and flipped it ... and knocked some containers my husband had ready for planting all over the back yard, and even got into our patio area (which is quite sheltered) and flipped the weighted bamboo screen we have there over the fence.

Make things easier on yourselves by ...

-- making sure all affairs are in order. 2 names on all accounts, enduring power of attorney, bills, wills, taxes, paperwork, whatever it takes.

-- making sure you're fit and healthy. Being fit and healthy improves the odds. Also could you actually support and lower your partner to the ground, should he/she collapse? Do you know first aid?

-- making sure your house well set up. Are there stairs? Tight corners? Difficult showers?

-- having a look at options around you. What would you do for groceries? What if you couldn't drive? If you have never used public transportation, try it now while you're still able. What about things like doctor's offices? Hospitals? All the stuff you use? Is it scattered around and difficult to get to or quite convenient?

--making sure you've got resources. Do you have people who can offer assistance? Knowledge of who to call if you've got problems with the house? Do you know about services in your area which can help?

Katla - We have done our wills, but DH is very resistant to LPA. I really want to get it done. If he is out for the count I have no access to his money for specialised care etc. He has a lot of savings accounts and is quite private about them. We do have a list with the wills, but need to update them.
Now I have my new laptop I will print out all the info and forms and hope he agrees. I would ask his younger daughter to be the other signatory. Of course, I will reciprocate. My near miss with the road accident last winter concentrated my mind. I could have ended up in a vegetative state. Ugh.
Aka Machka's husband, you never know when the axe might fall.

    Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx

Yep - you just never know. And if you don't have things in place prior to anything happening when everyone is able to agree to things, let me tell you from the voice of experience here ... it's really difficult to get them in place after something happens.

    Today is Libraries Remember Day.

"Commemorating the victims of the [9/11] attack [and] celebrating libraries’ role in preserving history and a free society. The day was first proposed by Bill Erbes of the Bensenville Public Library in Illinois. For at least 10 years, the Bensenville Public Library stayed open for the full 24 hours of September 11 (from midnight to midnight). It was business as usual for those hours. And there were various activities in honor of the day as well. Mr. Erbes encouraged other libraries across the country to do the same."

bwcetc - I also weigh every day. It's one of the habits I formed while I was using the Noom app. I was skeptical at first, but I do find it keeps me more accountable so it's still working for me.

graciecat - I sure with the shingles vaccines weren't so expensive. I guess we're going to have to cough up the money because we really don't want shingles - and I'm not sure Philip would be able to work if he got them - but without health insurance it's going to be painful in the checkbook as well as the arm!

Rho - I agree with you about attitudes toward mental health. I think if our culture had a healthier attitude toward the subject, a whole of lot trouble could be headed off before it became even bigger trouble. Your story about the basketball game made me laugh. How mortifying, especially to a teen!

Rebecca - Oh my gosh, the little lasagnas are so cute! I am going to remember that next time I make it. I don't have a pan like that but I do have a stack of individual teensy loaf pans that would probably work.

Marianne - Welcome, and congratulations on being a survivor!

Machka - Thank you for adding the Australian suicide resources!

Beth - I'd have handed Noah a swatter for the mosquitoes and cockroaches too!

Well, it has rained here two afternoons in a row. We needed it desperately so I am grateful! Maybe this is a sign of autumn to come.

I'm continuing to experiment with the Instant Pot. Made chicken tikka masala last night, and it was SO GOOD! Philip is working late tonight, so I get to have the leftovers again. I just have to remember to halve most recipes before I shop since I bought the smallest Instant Pot.

Today's special day had to be related to 9/11 but I'll be back to the silly commemorations tomorrow, I promise!

Bad luck on my restart. Had a bad fall sprained my ankle and broke my fibula last night. UGHH! Was on such a good role with my diet and exercise. Now I can’t even put weight on my leg and can’t workout for awhile. Though hobbling around on crutches is it’s own kind of workout.

:'( Oh, no. That happened to a friend of mine about two months ago so I know what a long sedentary recovery is involved. She maintained a positive attitude throughout and is recovering well. I wish the same for you. <3

@barbiecat - thank you, hope I can maintain the same positive attitude as your friend.

@Okiewoman510 - I am a curly hair girl as well. I love Deva’s products to help manage my curls. Like you I typically use my fingers and scrunch, unless I get ambitious and decide to blow out and straighten it.

DJMKT- bed rest- 1.can do arm exercise , watch your calories,y move your legs occasionally to prevent blood clots y leg falling asleep issues. 1 slice of pizza 🍕 instead of 2 if you have to do takeout 🥡. This site tells calories of takeout. Get better hun fully healing before exercise resumes is important .Daughter curly y straight hair they don’t make many products for mixed race hair that doesn’t make her hair greasy looking. The curse of having natural copper hair.

Still rearranging the house not sure about Christmas decorations JRs still putting stuff in his mouth! Thought he’d grow out of this by now oh well maybe next year a real tree! Thinking up high few items.A tiny tree on the table good enough it’s non-toxic paper so won’t hurt if he manages to eat any!
Oh yes the “MINE” phase has started .

As long as you don't run or jog. That apparently wears out the replacements before their time.

I haven't had the replacement four years yet.

Went to ceramics then ACMoore because they had a 60% off coupon for today and I need bags. Then to Kohl’s (since we were right there) to take the Amazon thing to be returned.

Lynda – folded up tissues reminded me of stuffing your bra  Good idea, I’ll give it a try. I’m afraid band aids would hurt when I went to take them off

Janetr – thanks for clearing this up for me

M – when I exercise at home, I have this sports bra that was white way back when, it’s now gray. But I figure “who sees me? Even Vince is asleep” I’m talking about things I wear to the gym. I wore an underwire once and was in such pain, never wore one again. The bra kept rubbing against my ribs. Now I look only for padded wire-free bras.

I was very surprised. At the Newcomers general meeting today, I thought for sure there’d be some sort of reference to 9/11, but there wasn’t.

Yvonne – when we first even learned of the shingles vaccine, I was after Vince and after him and after him to get it. Finally, he decided to do something about it because he wanted to do it before he went on Medicare. I don’t think he realized that you needed 2 shots. So because we were under his insurance, the first shot was free. But then he went on Medicare and he needed to use his deductible so we had to pay for the second shot. It was free for me

Are there any cookbooks for the IP that have calorie counts?

    DJMKT – oh no!
