Things people say when you lose weight

Totally agree on jealousy. I often get uncomfortable when people comment on my weight loss. Especially if they say aren't you done losing? - no technically I am still considered overweight.

I have lost friends, too and it shocked me. I kept really, really quiet about my fitness journey and only commented on it when the weight loss became noticeable and people asked me abut .

The antipathy was people who also had tried losing weight in the past and then suddenly they were really dismissive of my efforts, telling me that they were happier with their bodies now and weight was just one indicia of health and they were fitter than they were before despite being heavier and recovery time from exercise was more than weight ... Other people disparaged my cardio (combination of walking, HIIT, zumba and elliptical) and claimed that they were more into "hard core" and "more intense" exercise - even though to be honest they seeemed to be out of breath just doing gentle exercise ... Other people told me that they didn't have time to do exercise/wanted to enjoy life more and eat what they want - even though I explained this wasn't a diet and I wasn't starving myself and I still ate what i wanted but was more careful and I was mindful about my calorie budget.

It's just been a really weird trip to be honest. Even when I say nothing/next to nothing about it, people get really defensive about their weight/fitness and make strange excuses and explanations to me even though to be honest, I don't really care... it's up to each person what they want to do and the fact that I decided to make a change, doesn't mean I think they should.

Bottom line - when you start doing something positive for yourself it ends up making them feel bad about themselves so they have to be dismissive of your positive changes to boost themselves up. These people are really sad. I didn't realize that until I did some major work at looking at myself and my own self esteem.
