Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was LIS Back, Biceps and Core premix from Upper Body Trisets followed by Cathe Live Cardio Core Blast. Our internet is all wonky right now, so I am having to stream everything in low quality, but at least that is working this week. Last week....not so much. But I would imagine it was our internet speed causing my problems here. And, btw, we broke the record for the hottest day ever in October here in Huntsville with a high of 98. We are expected to hit 98 again today. :o Next week, fingers crossed, we may be in the 70s with a chance of rain. Boy do I hope so!

Tami, great workouts! I am glad to hear you are going to see your DH this weekend and that the fishing has gotten better for him. I was wondering if you got snow last weekend! :o Sounds like we are at opposite ends of extremes. You have already seen winter and summer here just won’t end! I did Ally Love’s Country Ride, and I love her music! I hope to do another of her workouts on Friday. Yesterday I tried a different instructor since I am still in my free trial phase, and I enjoyed him and his music too. His name escapes me at the moment though! B) I had no problem with the cadence because it is the same on my bike. As far as resistance, I just went with how I was feeling, trying to increase in the same proportions. Both workouts felt tough but fun! Glad you enjoyed the Lower Body Blast workout too. It is definitely a tough one. If I can’t get myself to do XT Legs (which is not my favorite workout), I may substitute LBB in for it once in our next two weeks phase. :)

Erika, glad you have enjoyed the rotation. STS Total Body and Tabatacise are two of her best workouts, no doubt. STS Total Body always kills me! :o Glad to hear the crown replacement went well. Having no memory of it is better than having a horrible memory of it for sure. Glad you found a good app to track your sons.....and that it serves a dual purpose. Knowing that your DS is aware he is being tracked not just for where he is but how he drives must give you a huge amount of peace of mind.

Thelma, glad to hear you continue to improve, even if slowly. Those kinds of injuries need lots of rest, for certain. I have fallen on my tail bone a couple of times when on ice. No fun at all. I can’t believe you have been there six months already!! Of course, we are coming up on a year here. :o I am trying to enjoy the heat for what it is and remembering I was living in Alaska a year ago is good for helping me do that. I try to sit on our porch every day for a little while and just enjoy the green trees (still) and fresh air. I would have given anything for that opportunity during the long winters I spent in Alaska. I am sorry to hear you are having internet issues as well. If you are like me, our internet service is getting a bit frustrating. :|

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, I was better on stairs today but I still have to do it very slowly and basically like an old lady. My sacrum is still not right and it clearly plays a big role in going up/downstairs.
Still doing really low impact cardio.

Our temps were in the 80's and it was hot. I think temps will be in the 90's on Friday! No rain today and I think the forecast called for chances of rain.

Remember how I participated in that Parade of Homes event earlier in the year? That's how I met our new friends? Anyway, our builder called me today to ask me if he could show our house during next year's Parade of Homes. There is no way I'm going to open my house to strangers. We had 1000 guests at the builder's house in April! This is a weekend event. Can you imagine enduring that for an entire weekend? No way!
I thought the event was about homes for sale but it sounds like it's that and about PR for the builders.

Laurel, great workouts and sorry about your slow speed internet! Have you rebooted your router? That might help.
OMG! 98 degrees is super hot! Yikes! I hope we have cooler temps next week too.
Early this morning DH and I were out on the deck and it was a little cold. That was short-lived of course!

I can't believe your first year anniversary in AL is just around the corner!
Definitely keep reminding yourself about life in Alaska during the winter! All that shoveling you did!
My internet problem was just that day and it's been Ok since. It is frustrating.

    Goodnight ladies!

    Morning Ladies,

Just a short hello. We had a wonderful time in England. I will have more to say later, but just wanted to let you all know that we made it there and back.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was Cathe’s live class from today which was Fit Tower Bootcamp followed by Butts and Guts. Good stuff....but I am not sure I will be walking tomorrow! :D:o;)

Laurie, welcome back!! I am glad you had a safe and wonderful trip. I am anxious to hear all about it!

Thelma, keep taking it easy and, hopefully, in another few days or so you will be back to your normal self. We hit 100 degrees yesterday!!! :o:o Today, hopefully, will be our last day in the high 90s. It was almost 80 degrees at 7:30 this morning. Just crazy! But they are still predicting highs in the 70s next week and lows in the 50s which sounds wonderful. Just wish I was seeing more rain in the forecast, but at least they are predicting some. I completely agree with you on the Parade of Homes!! I remember having about 50 people over to our house once when we lived in Korea, and it took me hours and hours to clean up after that. The floors alone...... :# . And we were able to limit the access to the bedrooms and such with that. During a Parade of Homes? Probably wouldn’t be able to do that as much. So all support here for your decision. When it was a vacation home, I could understand the builder wanting to show it off. But now that it is a private home.....no. I hope he took it well because I know how much that experience with the Parade of Homes meant to you this year.

    Until tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my sacrum is MUCH better today! Thank you, Lord! I can do stairs the normal way but a little slow on the way up while I hang on to the railing for extra support. Downstairs almost at 90% normal. The bending down is still a little problem and forget about bending down to lift a cat off the floor, this caused me pain today. Overall, much better. I will go to the restorative yoga class tomorrow. Hopefully, I will be able to get back up off the floor! Taking it easy has definitely been a good thing.
    Low impact cardio today again.

DH and I had an awesome experience today. We didn't know this existed but I found out about it through Facebook. The traveling Vietnam Wall Memorial came to town! It arrived today escorted by what looked like 100's of bikers. We didn't see the arrival part but we got the memorial site right before the opening ceremony. It was a very sad and humbling experience. I lost it. Every time I see all those names my heart breaks and I just start crying.
We were there for the opening prayer and the show of colors? Laurel, is that it's called when they present the different flags?

Laurie, welcome back!! So glad you had a wonderful time. I can't wait to hear all about it! I hope Rocket is ok!

Laurel, that live class sounds great. I hope you don't have DOMS tomorrow.
OMG, it really is hot there! We had a nice cool breeze at our property during the morning into the early afternoon. It felt so good! None of the rain though. Being in the sun was a totally different story. The sun here is really hot!

I texted our builder our decision to not participate in the parade of homes. So he just thanked me. During this event, every room and closet in the house is open to the public! People use your bathrooms too! GROSS!!!
When we had our party there wasn't much to clean up as people spent the majority of the time out on the deck.

    Goodnight Ladies!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was CTX Upper Body Split followed by a 45 minute Peloton Interval and Arms ride. Good stuff!

Thelma, I am so glad you are doing better! Hopefully the yoga will help as well and you will be good to go for a nice weekend. We hit 100 again yesterday. :o:o But we are starting to cool off into the lower 90s today and tomorrow and will be in the 70s on Monday.....where we should be! I am ready for it now, that’s for sure. I am glad you got to see the traveling Vietnam Memorial. I visited the Vietnam Memorial in DC shortly after it was dedicated. I had just graduated college and had done my honor’s thesis on the Vietnam War. I will never forget that experience. It remains the monument in DC I still find the most impactful. What you are talking about with the flags is the presentation of colors. Thanks for sharing this, Thelma. It does my heart so much good to know that this is being shown throughout the nation.

    Enjoy the weekend!

Hi Ladies, I hope you had a nice weekend. DH and I had a good weekend. The temps were much cooler and Saturday in the late afternoon we were out on the driveway and we were cold! LOL

The Restorative Yoga class did me a lot of good. I asked the instructor to focus on the sacrum area and she did!
Unfortunately by Friday night, I was having an RA flareup. My right foot was hurting; which caused me to walk with a limp. A couple of fingers were hurting too. This continued through Saturday.

Laurel, I can't imagine writing a thesis on the Vietnam war. I don't think my heart could take it. There are some people in BR who had relatives fight in Vietnam. One of my yoga friends, in fact, had a brother who died after the war due to agent orange. It's nice that the men and women who died after the war due to agent orange are being added to the wall. The wall will be here until Tuesday.
This is its schedule in case you want to go see it.

    Morning Ladies,

I will have to get through a lot of chats here, I have been busy since we got back on Wednesday. Our flight to England was delayed for over an hour, and it actually landed late on the way back. Everything else in-between that was amazing. We of course are all ready for a return trip, because we didn't get to see everything that was on our list. We did get to the major things like Hampton Court, Windsor, Tower of London, The Globe Theater, Buckingham Palace, Stonehedge, Bath, Portsmouth, Westminster Abby and a surprise to Salisbury Cathedral. In some cases we just stopped at some of the sights, like St. Paul's and Trafalgar Square. The cottage we stayed at was the best, and I highly recommend that area if you are going to England to relax. My son-in-law did very well driving, and we took the train to most places, and once in London we where on the tube. Our hotel in London was very nice, and of course small. Three people in a small hotel room, was only good for the three nights that we where there. :D We walked so much, and I was able to get in over 10,000 steps each day. The best part is that I lost weight while on vacation. My SIL's grandparents are just amazing people, and their home is beautiful. We never had a bad meal the whole time. Interesting fact is that every place we went to eat only diet pop. :p

Didn't workout at all during the 12 days, but was back into the swing of things on Thursday. So my workouts have been Kelly's Split Sessions Lower Body, RAW Step #2, RAW Ripped & Ride January (I used my elliptical) and this morning was Weights Workout 1 (back, legs, chest & abs).

I will look at all the posts when I have a chance!

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Hope you had a nice weekend. We ended up with more record heat on Friday and Saturday, but that didn’t stop us from playing golf on Saturday. But we didn’t have much company! In fact we were on the 17th hole when the Marshal came out to see how we were doing because we were the only people on the course!! It was 2:30pm. :o But a combo of heat and college football apparently kept everybody home. We sure enjoyed that we were alone though! :) Yesterday was cooler, finally and today.....rain. :D So needed.

For workouts, on Saturday I started with Jessica Smith Walk Strong 3 Barefoot Cardio Core to warm up my body then did a 45 minute beginner yoga from the Peloton App. Absolutely loved the yoga routine! Yesterday was XT Legs (the 67 minute premix) followed by To The Max. Today was XT Chest/Back/Shoulders followed by Cathe Live Kickboxing Plus Core.

Thelma, I am happy the yoga helped your back! But I am sorry you are still battling the RA flare-ups. I am glad you are enjoying the cooler temps as well. It is still a little too muggy here to open windows, but I think that will change in the next week or two. Looking forward to that for sure. Thank you for the Vietnam Wall schedule. Part of my thesis on that war in college involved interviewing some vets. This, of course, was long before I met DH. Their stories.....unbelievable. I am so thankful their sacrifices are continuing to be recognized and honored.

Laurie, welcome back!!!! I am SO glad you had a good trip, despite the long and late plane rides. Some day I will share our experience going to Hawaii and how we ended up being seven hours late getting there. :o Not a fun story. Sounds like you saw so many wonderful places!! I am glad you got to Salisbury. That is one of my favorite places in England. Yay for losing weight on vacation!! Love that you spent so much time walking. No better way to see a place than on foot, for certain. Great job getting back into your workout routine!! Sounds like you managed the jet lag okay.

    See you tomorrow!

Hi Ladies ~ Sorry for being MIA last week. I just got busy at work and then my evenings the last couple nights before I left were SO busy. Who would have thought making DH some cookies, cinnamon rolls and his favorite dinner + clean the house for my in-laws. They came to stay with their Grand-Dog :D LOL Anyway, I didn’t even get my workout(s) in Thurs or Fri. So needless to say I am dying to workout tonight. I miss my Peloton as well. :)

The weekend was really fun. We had great weather (67 and sunshine) and caught my limit of Salmon both days. The weekend goes by way too fast though …. We talked about next year having me stay a few days if his schedule permits instead of just Friday eve through Sun. a.m. I left around 11:00 yesterday.

So working out tonight and then back into the rotation with you Laurel! More than likely my legs will be sore this week from the leg workout.

I will check in with you all tomorrow …. Just wanted to let you know I am alive & well and had a great time with DH.

    Welcome Back Laurie!

Hi Ladies, for some reason today my tailbone was hurting. I did the Beginner/Gentle yoga class and forward folds were problematic.

Laurel, great workouts! I am glad you're finally having cooler temps! Your thesis must've been amazing! I can't believe you got to interview Vietnam vets! What an honor!

Tami, glad you had a great weekend with your husband! I hope you get to stay a few days with him next year during his fishing season.
    Great workouts!

    Goodnight ladies!

    Morning Ladies,

This morning was Kelly's Weights Workout 2 (biceps, triceps & shoulders), and then I followed that up with Jessica's Ab Assault from her 10 Min. Solutions workout Rockout Knockout. Planning on doing an ab workout every day this month.

Laurel, Great job on all the workouts! Nice that you where able to get some golf in despite the heat. We have been having our normal fall temps. The morning walk is getting to the point that we need to wear gloves. That had to be a really bad experience at the airport for you with that much of a delay. Ours was caused by the pilot strike at British Airways, it effected all of their flights. When we where staying at the cottage, they have no screens on their windows. It was really nice to listen to the rain, and have them open. The only problem is that spiders would end up in the most unusual places. And these spiders are not small, but apparently don't bite. My SIL's grandmother just scooped them up in her hand and threw them out the window. :D I think that Salisbury was my favorite place also, it really is like going back in time. I have to get back into the walking mode, because I think it helped my legs thin out a little bit. ;)

Tami, Sounds like you had a wonderful week, and weekend. Nice that you will have some salmon for your freezer. Now I want some cinnamon rolls, they sound delish. I was sore after the long break from workouts, but it didn't take long to get back into the swing of things again.

Thelma, Hope that your tailbone gets better. My DH has problems with his, and with all the sitting on the train and plane, he was really feeling it. Rocket survived, but you can tell that he is happy to be home. He did lose a bit of weight, but has been eating fairly well since being home. We are not having him go to daycare this week. Our wallet needs a break, and I think that he would be traumatized if we brought him back so soon. ;)

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was a Peloton 45 minute Tabata Ride followed by Ellen Barrett’s Pilates and Yoga Blend. This latter one was an older workout I found on YouTube, but I really enjoyed it.

Tami, so glad you enjoyed a nice weekend with your DH! I am glad your weather was good as well as the fishing! Bet getting back to the workouts feels good, though. Thanks again for introducing me to Ally Love! I have been enjoying my Peloton rides for sure.

Thelma, sorry to hear your tail bone is sore again. Hopefully a few more days of rest will take care of it.

Laurie, great workouts! Good luck with every day Ab work! :o I will be interested to hear what benefits you feel from that. I try to do core work 4-5 days a week, and I have been wondering if it is enough or too much! One of the reasons I am enjoying these yoga-ish workouts I have been doing is because they work the core differently than the average Ab section from a Cathe. Even two weeks in I am feeling my body is a bit more open and balanced, and I credit those workouts for that. Oh yes....the no window screens of Europe. And those spiders! :o I remember those. One of my worst experiences with no screens was a cat jumping through our window when we lived in Italy. I think the poor thing was just slightly more surprised than me to find himself in our dining room. :) I am sorry you got caught up in the British Airways strike. No fun on what is already a long trip. Our issue was caused because our plane broke....in the air. It was funny because as we were leaving Seattle, I was looking out the window and had the question go through my head ‘I wonder what happens if you have a mid-air emergency over the ocean?’ I have flown over the ocean quite a bit, so I am not sure why that came to mind. But it put a jinx on us because 30 minutes later the pilot says we had to go back to Seattle for a maintenance issue. He explained the landing would be ‘normal’ but we would be coming in low, heavy and fast. And we did.....met by all the airport emergency vehicles! :o Alaska Airlines was really good about it and got us another plane as quickly as they could. But it made for a bit of an adventure....one I could have done without. :D

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies ~ Got in my workout last night! Decided on Peloton Ride – 45 min Interval and Arms. Today is XT Legs. Felt so good to be back in it last night. Amazing how even a short break makes you miss it even more.

Laurie: I am so glad you guys had an amazing trip! Sounds like it was very nice. Way to get back into the workouts. Your abs are going to be rockin it by the end of October! Nice goal. OMG! Spiders are not my favorite at all. I would have been waking up constantly thinking one was on the bed or something. YIKES! How did Rocket do while you were gone?

Laurel: I am so happy you love Ally Love as much as I do. She is so great and truly makes you want to work harder plus her music is always good. Definitely felt good to get back into it. All the sitting I do in the boat makes me eager to return, but always glad to be there with DH. Excellent job with your Tabata Ride today, those are my absolute favorite!

Thelma: Ouch on the tailbone hurting ….. hopefully it is better very soon. If DH’s schedule permits, I will definitely try to stay an extra evening. He usually is out with clients when I arrive or just got back to the trailer so it just always works into a small window. So great on your house being open for the Parade of Homes ….. I bet the builder is thrilled you agreed to do it.

Have a great evening ladies! :) Talk to you tomorrow ~ Tami

Hi Ladies, I did a low impact Jessica Smith's workout today. The tailbone hurt for a few hours today. Not happy about this.
We were supposed to get rain today but we didn't.

Laurie sounds like you had a wonderful vacation!! So glad you had such a great time! Great job jumping back into your workouts!
I bet Rocket is thrilled to be back home. Too bad he lost a little weight though.

    Laurel, fantastic workout!
I hope a few more days of taking it easy helps my back. I'm getting tired of this but at the same time I know I can't afford to hurt myself again.

Tami, nice workouts! I hope your DH has enough free time on his calendar to allow for a longer visit next time.
My house WON'T be part of the Parade of Homes event. There is no way we 1000 people (or more) parading through our house for an entire weekend. The builder was disappointed.

    Goodnight ladies

    Morning Ladies,

This morning was Kelly's Train Like a Contender Boxing (used weighted gloves) and the ab work from her kickbox workout.

Laurel, Great job on your workouts! I'm guessing that you are now a proud owner of a Peloton? ;) Oh my on your flight, I would be freaking. The reason we where late landing in Chicago, is because we caught up with a smaller plane, and had to climb really fast. It amazes me how calm the pilot is when they tell you that we got to close to another plane. :o Glad to hear that everything went well with the airline. LOL on the cat jumping through the window, I'm glad that we didn't have that experience. My SIL's grandparents live on the edge of the New Forest, so a lot of the animals run free. There where free ranging horses, donkey's, pigs and cows just walking on the roads. They even had homemade signs along the side of the road that said to watch out for mamma and her baby's. We saw two sets of pigs with their little ones. I will see how the ab's everyday works, I'm curious about it also. I know that when I was doing Jillian's 30 day Shred (abs everyday), it really made a difference for me.

Tami, Awesome job on your workouts! I agree with you on missing the workouts when you can't do them. Today was a good one, I seemed to have so much energy. I think that it was the fact that I had a chance to do some boxing. I have to say that DH was really good about getting rid of all the spiders, because neither myself or our youngest was willing to go near them. :D Rocket did very well, but he didn't eat all that much. He tends to not eat when he is stressed, but he is for sure making up for it this last week. :D When we picked him up he had to give me kisses.

Thelma, Nice workout with Jessica! I hope that tailbone starts feeling better over time. I think that I would have a problem with that many people tromping through my house the whole weekend. I wouldn't want anyone to know what I have to steal. ;)

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was XT Bi’s and Tri’s followed by Cathe Live For The Love of Cardio. Fun stuff today.

Tami, great workout! Bet it felt good to get back to it. I really enjoyed the Tabata ride because the time went so quickly. Can’t wait to try more.....which is a good thing. I like being excited about working out again! :)

Thelma, I am sorry about the continuing pain, but good job with Jessica. She has so many good workouts that are easier on the body.

Laurie, great workout! Got to love a good boxing workout. :D No, I don’t have a Peloton (yet ;) ). But based on a recommendation I saw on Cathe’s Facebook page, I downloaded the Peloton App and am using it on my spin cycle. While I don’t have all the bells and whistles of a Peloton bike, I have no problem doing the workouts. Since I added a second spin day per week for this six month rotation, I wanted a little more variety than just Cathe’s spin classes. So far, so good!! Yikes on your plane experience too! Our pilot was very calm as well, which is a good thing. :) Actually, I was impressed by everybody on the plane that day because they sequestered us for a couple of hours at a gate in the terminal until they knew when we would be leaving, and everybody was calm and patient. Of course, we were headed to Maui, so it wasn’t like a plane of business travelers or people trying to make connections. :) Your description of the English countryside makes me miss it so much. Love how peaceful and scenic it is.

    Until tomorrow!

    Hi Ladies!!

Not too much new here...started my new Cathe rotation on Monday and am enjoying the nice Indian Summer we are getting here before the cold and possible snow this weekend (it's too early)! Sounds like the opposite weather for Thelma and Laurel though!! We had a nice relaxing weekend, and an awesome date night out Monday night for our 19th wedding anniversary! It was nice to enjoy the whole evening out!

Laurie--Welcome back! Your vacation sounds wonderful, and so many sights you saw! All that walking was certainly a great workout too! I hope you're enjoying some of this fall weather too!

Laurel--I can't believe the record heat there! We are having well below average temps here, which is nice as long as it doesn't keep cold and regular snow. I want to wait until November for that!

Tami--Sounds like a wonderful fishing trip, salmon is the best! Glad you enjoyed it!

Thelma--I hope you continue to only feel better with your tailbone injury. It is a lot of up and down days, I do remember that! The more you can move and stretch, probably the better!

Off to run the youngest to church, pick up his bike and get in my Great Glutes workout :) Have a great night!

Hi Ladies, I did beginner/gentle yoga today and it was more of restorative yoga class so it was great. I also attempted my first sculpting fusion class. That didn't go well with my tailbone. We were doing ab work on the floor leaning back on a squishy ball and that felt like I was sitting directly on my tailbone. Not a good feeling to say the least. So I did old school abs on the floor instead. I finished the class but modified a lot and kept moves small. I wattled out of there because my sacrum area felt tight. I came home to a session with the heating pad and it helped.
No rain again! The sky looked like it was going to rain but nothing happened. Temps are definitely getting cooler and 60's feel quite cold to us now. It's no longer humid, it was cloudy and we had a little bit of a NE wind. A friend who moved here from FL told us that the first couple of years here he felt very cold. I think that is exactly what is happening to us. We live in the mountains so temps will definitely be cooler here.

Laurie, fun workouts!!! That New Forest place sound like a place DH and I would love to visit someday!
I hope the tailbone starts feeling better soon too but I imagine this type of injury takes time to recover from.

    Laurel, great workouts!!
I'm so thankful to have these Jessica Smith workouts!

Erika, glad you're enjoying the Indian Summer. Happy 19th wedding anniversary! Glad you had a great date night!

Thanks for the get well wishes! I am going through the up and down days with this injury for sure. I was convinced I was going to be OK in class today but I was wrong. Moving and stretching do help but it has to be the right move!

    Hi Tami!

    Goodnight ladies!

    Morning Ladies,

This morning was Kelly's RAW Box & Pump, so that one included abs. Had my annual physical this morning, and all seems to be well so far. I'm headed up north on Friday, because my mother is having eye surgery today. She needs someone to help her this weekend, since my dad doesn't seem to be to interested in helping her. :/ What happens to us when we get older, I sure hope I don't get crabby and non motivated. They are suppose to have snow up there on Saturday, I'm not looking forward to that. ;)

Laurel, Great job on the workouts! I'm very glad to hear that you are able to use the app on your current equipment, that must make for a nice change. Kelly does a Ripped and Ride workout every month for her RAW channel, but I always use my elliptical since I don't have a bike. It makes for a nice change of pace, and of course easier on the joints. I would imagine that heading to a nice destination makes up for the delay. I felt sorry for the people that needed to connect with flights. They had their own customs agents when we landed in Chicago.

Erika, Congrats on your Anniversary! Glad to hear that you are enjoying your rotation, and of course the nice weather. I hear you on the snow, I'm not looking forward to seeing it when we get to my parents. I hope that it disappears really quick. I just wish that this nice weather would go into the weekend. I hope next weekend is nice, and that all the fruit is off the walnut tree. We need to get rid of those nuts before the squirrels get start gathering them up.

Thelma, Your description sounds painful, and I'm sorry to hear that you are having to go through all that. Way to tough it out with your workout though. I would say that the New Forest is a site to see. They have areas along the road so that people can get out of their cars and take pictures or just walk. And of course the horses are right there.

    Have a great day!
    Laurie
