What is your "Petty" Reason to Lose Weight?

The majority of my close friends are all getting married next year and I want to look better than the brides because I was excluded from all the bridal parties but one.
It's extremely petty, but I don't really mind, haha 18 -

very very petty but the more I lose and build muscles, the more I am getting noticed again with smiles and treated nicely. 77 lbs ago, people were rude to me and or didn't give me time of day. But the real NON petty reason is doing it this time for my health and to feel proud of myself.14

I find it so satisfying trying on old clothes that have always been way too tight and realizing they're too big now
I also have never been the type of girl that guys like or have a crush on so I'm thinking it's about time I have my hot girl moment 16 -
It’s not a petty reason. I have arthritis in both knees. Some days they hurt more than other days but they always hurt going upstairs. Some days they really hurt, just wallking. I asked the Doctor what can I do to help my knees. He said to walk. The worse thing you can do is sit and rest them. They will just get stiffer. The other thing is to keep your weight low. The more weight you gain, the more pain you will have. I’m not looking for more pain. So I am working on my weight now.
I don't have arthritis but I also had painful knees when I weighed more. Weight loss did make the pain go away.9 -
Petty reason: My ego. When I'm overweight, I look older and frumpier than when I am at my right weight. And that can be very depressing when I pass by a mirror at my age.11

Hey, I may be a 60 year old lady, but anyone who uses the word "puerile" has something going for them in my book. Looks may get you noticed more, but intelligence is even more attractive in the long run. Wishing you the best on your journey to health and happiness.25 -

This is a fun thread.
I have a bunch of guys I cycle with. I used to be 1st up hills and right now I'm last.
Which I ab-so-lute-ly hate.
So my petty reason to lose 20 lbs (14 to go) is so I'm 1st or 2nd up the hill.
P.S. this is a group of MAMILs, not competetitive cyclists (a MAMIL = middle aged man in licra).18 -

Petty reason: I won't back down. There's no easy way out. My weight is now free fallin'. Coming down is the hardest thing.

This is so, so true. Having been both "normal" and "obese", and now almost back to "normal" again, the way strangers, or people in your office, treat you just based on your appearance/weight is incredible. I wish it wasn't this way, but such is our society I suppose.
I am happily married, but that doesn't mean I don't still like to get noticed. That's a petty goal of mine.6 -

Petty reason as of this weekend - I want to fit in my sleeping bag with it zipped all the way up, without the side extender open, and with room to wiggle around and not feel like I will be forever trapped.14

I have a new one.
In May next year my parents have rented a house in the Lake District to celebrate my Dad's birthday.
All of us siblings and our partners will be there for the long weekend.
I don't want to look like a whale in comparison to my brothers gorgeous girlfriends.
Also, there will be the opportunity for a lot of fun outdoorsy stuff and I want to keep up.
