That bold. That's it for me.7 -
Reading labels. I do it all the time and it’s very educational.6

First thing most mornings I wake up to get in a workout. At first the purpose was to "get it out the way", but after a while it became a habit and I actually looked forward to and enjoyed my workouts. Plus it gives me natural energy and sets the tone for a good day.
I stopped snacking and focus on eating good-sized balanced meals which keeps me satiated until my next meal. Doing this helped me to have more control over my food intake, keeps me fuller longer and it's a time saver too.
I improve my NEAT and get better blood circulation by taking stairs instead of an escalator, parking further and walking, doing bodyweight exercises or walking/jogging in place while watching TV or I do squats or walking lunges from the front to the back of my house when taking breaks from work. These small activities really add up.9 -
I’ve recently reinstituded working out as soon as I wake up. I had gotten in the habit before having kids but it fell by the wayside due to the obvious major shift in schedule. After having babies, I kept up with my workouts but they tended to be done late morning/early afternoon/whenever they fit into my schedule.
Got a dog a few months back, and she’s a high energy, Velcro dog so she loves running with me first thing. I’ve been doing it a few times a week for about a month, and remembering how much I love getting my workout in first thing. I don’t have to spend that day trying to figure out when I’ll be able to get it in, and my body is warmed up and energized for the day. It’s such a difference-maker.6 -
Morning ritual... Deep focused breathing, gratitude, focused goals, stretching... And water all day2

I'm 50 and have spent my life taking care of others. It's now my time to take care of myself.
You go, girl!
That's adorable. My chihuahua actually lies right next to me on the matt during yoga time, belly up!6 -
I like to go for a brisk half hour walk at lunch time. It re-energizes and destresses me. I feel more sluggish in the afternoons on the days I can’t go.5

Going to bed earlier so I get enough sleep. I still struggle with this but it is extraordinary how much more energy I have and how much better able I am to handle life's unexpected setbacks when I’ve had enough sleep.4

Every morning I put on a coffee face mask, and drink a ton of water before having my coffee. Helps me feel more refreshed.2

Pilates. Every day.3

I love all of these!!! Keep 'em coming!2

I had to think about this—
1)I never just jump out of bed because once my dog and cat hear me stirring and stretching they run to kiss me. Love that.
2) I tell my man of 40 years everyday that I love him. Hugs and kisses are good for the soul.
3) I have a home based business and set my timer to step away from my desk for at least 5 minutes every hour.
4) I exercise. This one is so important to my happiness.
5) Daily gratitude. I don’t mean just saying what your grateful for, but *feeling* it. Attitude is everything.
6) Self care rituals with green drinks, vitamins, and skin & hair care. These things just help you feel better about yourself. Take care of yourself, just like you do others.
7) I avoid the news. Especially politics. I feel my blood pressure go up and my hands clenching. That can’t be good...😂9 -
0430 am wake up M-F to get in my gym time, and Saturdays are always mountain bike shred day. For food Sat and Sun are always my protein pancake/waffle days.2

Good morning ritual with the dogs.2

taking my dogs out to start my day, either walk (about 2 miles) or dog park, depends mostly on the summer weather where we go1

Such a good thread! Hope we can resurrect it...
My hack: I started getting up when I open my eyes. Sounds silly, but I used to just roll over and go back to sleep til my alarm annoyingly woke me. Since I started doing this, I found it easier to go to bed at a reasonable time at night, I fall asleep faster, and I sleep deeper, longer.
When I first started, I was waking up at 4:30-5, which was a bit brutal for me, but I quickly shifted to 6-7am. I now feel more rested and have better energy all day, every day. Oh and I no longer need/use an alarm!5 -
I love this thread! Here is what I do:
-Have all of my workout clothes ready to go for when I wake up early in the morning.
-Pack my lunch before I go to bed, which means weighing everything. Sometimes I log it too. If I don't log it, I write it on a post-it and log it at work the next day
-Every night before I fall asleep I review my day and try to find "micro" wins--small things that happened or I did that was a "win". I will also review micro fails and think about how I can improve
-I've been putting my phone down so I can be more in the moment with my family. If we go out to dinner I used to put my phone beside my plate. Now I keep it in my purse
-I'm not one for meal prep so I try to buy healthy foods that I can grab on the go3 -
I meal plan weekly and we grocery shop every Sunday. I use an app called Plan to Eat where I store all of the recipes I make, drag and drop into a calender, adjust serving sizes, and it makes my grocery list. HIGHLY recommend (it is $5 per month). I have the app on my phone and check off items as I buy.
Sunday afternoons I prep all my lunches and snacks for the work week and prelog MFP.
I have a sunrise alarm clock that is really nice, it gradually wakes me up with light rather than annoying sounds.
I prep my gym clothes and pack my work clothes every evening.
I use facial lotion with SPF every morning and gently cleanse and moisturize every night.
ALWAYS have my water bottle with me.2 -
Take a little time to myself at the end of the day before bed. This could be reading, watching tv, playing games on the ipad, or crafting. But regardless of how tired I am and how late it is, I no longer feel capable of going to bed without at least a few minutes of personal down time.2
