I've been using MFP for over three months now and my weight loss is going well, but I feel hesitant to talk about it with my friends and family. So I'd like to add some like-minded people to my friend list for some mutual support and accountability.

I'm 37, female, no children (unless you count the two cats in our house) and I live in Belgium.

SW: 94.2 kg (207.7 lbs)
CW: 87.4 kg (192.7 lbs)
GW: 68 kg (150 lbs - normal BMI) and then I'll reassess.
My goal is feeling happy with my body again (confidence) and not having to limit my activities because of my weight.

I'm a bit of a geek and I love crunching data and tracking everything in Excel.
I believe in slow, steady and sustainable weight loss:
- no fad diets or overly restrictive low cal diets
- intentional slow rate of loss (0.25kg per week as a goal)
- eating everything I like to eat, just adapting the quantities (I have a fairly healthy diet already)
- I've been increasing my activity level: more steps in daily life, several treadmill sessions per week and I'm slowly (re)integrating strength training into my routine (I have a home gym)

If any of this resonates with you, feel free to add me as a friend

I'll send a friend request, 41, female, no kids, currently at 82 (down from 86) and seeing where I end up! I'm pretty active and trying to make small tweaks to my eating rather than anything too dramatic.

I also love Belgium! We have two holidays there planned between now and Easter...
  • Request sent. 34 year old no kid, two dogs from South Africa. Currently 98ish kgs.. I would say Im avoiding the scale cause I trust measurements more but when I tried to get on yesterday it was broken haha. 6ft so aiming for a 85kgish goal weight or just somewhere I feel good.

Yes to everything except that cats LOL

I'm 33, female, no children unless you count my two dogs (cause I do)
I live in Kentucky in the states

-All of my finances are tracked in a super elaborate excel spreadsheet bc I love excel
-I graduated with an IT degree so nerd and proud
    -No fad diets here!
-Slow and steady wins the race
-I refuse to eliminate foods so I just change portion sizes
-I work a desk job as my username suggests so I try to find ways to be more active during the day

Pretty sure you ARE me LOL!

Fear of judgment, I totally get it.
I haven't really failed before, I simply haven't tried (isn't that worse?). But I still don't want to talk about it, hard to explain why. I prefer to simply do it and show people the results.

Lietchi - I think it's mainly the cycling. We usually head over for cyclocross over new year and this year we're going to the tour of Flanders too 😀

Oh yes, I track our finances in Excel too! Daily expenses, mortgage, investments, money spent on renovations. As well as our energy and water consumption. Data addict

Ah yes, I'm not much of a cycling fan myself, but it is a popular sport here. I watch it occasionally on the television just to watch the landscapes and aerial views

My name is Kristen, I live in the USA (Ohio), I'm 40, no kids unless you count the furry, spoiled Schnauser who lives in our house. I also live with my partner, Scott, and have for the last 7 years. I'm a GIS Specialist (fancy name for someone who works with Geospatial Data and makes Maps) for a utility company. I'm also addicted to YouTube and Hulu...LOL. My boyfriend and I enjoy traveling and beer/wine (or traveling FOR beer/wine). In 3 weeks we depart for a 1 week trip to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, to stay at an amazing all inclusive, where the only decision that needs to be made everyday is what to eat/drink and what part of the pool do we want to sit at!

-In September I decided that my slow, over winter, spring and summer weight gain (15ish pounds) had to come off. I was very diligent, and was able to get it off (16lbs) in about 2.5 months. I'm in the "Should I stop losing or keep going phase of my weight loss", but my body seems to tell me it's time to quit since the scale has read 148.8 for the last 15 days. I'm 5'11, so that weight is good for me (according to the BMI my starting weight was good to), but I felt "gross". I feel pretty good now, but I've been here before and it's hard to maintain!

-In 2 weeks I turn 41, which isn't momentous, but I'm noticing the older I'm getting the more work I have to do to keep the weight off. And that it's not physical, it's all mental. If I want to do it, I can do it. If eating lots of food and riding the couch is more important, I'll do just that.

-My BF and I don't do much for Thanksgiving, and we have 5 days off work! :)

    - We arrive back from Mexico on the 21st, so Christmas is a couple days at home before returning to work on the 26th. That's going to be a hard reality...

I'm happy to meet everyone...please add me, I'm active every day (until December 14th, all bets are off that week!).
