Filipino Macaroni Soup

Does anyone know about Filipino Macaroni Soup? My dad always made macaroni soup when we were kids. It was cooked macaroni sound in a lemon and egg broth. I always assumed it was Armenian (his heritage) but it's not. I found a similar soup of Filipino origin with a chicken broth base. This would "make sense" to me and I wouldn't be at all surprised that he might not have made it correctly. He served in the Philippines during WW2 so he might have picked it up there. (He's no longer around to ask. Wish I had!)

Anyway, just wondering if anyone is familiar with it or has a good but uncomplicated recipe they like. TIA!

This sounds a lot like greek avgolemono soup. If you greek avgolemono you will get lots of hits. Here is an example.

We think it’s based on the Filipino soup because of the macaroni specifically. Macaroni is not a Greek or middle eastern ingredient, although the broth base is similar. I checked with my cousins and they never had it; if it was Armenian they definitely would know about it. So I definitely think he picked this up in the Phillipines. Thanks everyone! Can’t wait to make it!
