Hi! I’d love to join your group! I’m a 45yo female. Until about two years ago, I was a regular runner, have completed about 8 half marathons and since I like vegetables, my weight was easy to maintain. Then about 1.5 years ago my mother had a stroke and I became her caregiver for a while (she’s much better now) and I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis, started medication and told to stop running. (You can guess how this goes, right?) So, some mild depression, massive stress, and physical issues made for a difficult 2019. About two months ago, I fired my podiatrist and started running again. I’ve decided I’m not the kind of person who takes no for an answer. I’m still riding the wave of some medication changes, but feeling positive about getting the inflammation under control. I have some habits to adjust, some tweaking to do and am very much looking forward to having a community for this!
Today 12/28 I am 148. I would like to get back to 137, and would love to get to 133, which would be a 10% loss.
Things I have going for me: I enjoy exercise, I really do like vegetables and salads, and I love to cook.
Obstacles: Wine and bread and snacking. Winter.10 -

My ultimate goal for 2020 is to continue to learn how to love myself and to reach my goal weight. Since joining MFP November of 2018, I have lost 42 pounds (up 5 since before Christmas, but that will leave soon!), and have joined the YMCA. My plan is to work cardio and weights 3x a week and water aerobics 2x a week. I'm committing myself to my health this year and it will be a priority in my life.

Goals this round.... Back to healthful eating. Aim for zero added sugar, no white and almost no whole grain flour products, lots of protein, veggies, and healthy fats. Back to the gym 5 days/week and outdoor walks/hikes when not icy. Meditate daily. 🏃🏽♀️🏃🏼🥗🍎🥕🥦🏊🏻♀️🧘🏻♀️

69 years old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion... ...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.
We used to walk 5 miles a day. A pinched nerve and back surgery side-lined me for about a year. Then I had back surgery. Now I'm waiting to get my hip fixed. Hip Doc said surgery in April. Ugh! I can't do any walking or biking...both kill me. I see my personal trainer three times a week. She is taking it very slow and easy with me.
