Still chugging along here. SI joint still a little sore. Run this morning was a short treadmill warmup before strength training.

That's the 30-day streak completed. I feel some compulsion to continue, but I also feel ready to take a day off. We'll see what wins out!

    Wooo hooo well done!

Gone for a few days and I am now 5 pages behind. No running this trip but we did get in a wonderful hike from our hotel thru the Monterey pine forest and down narrow single track to the ocean bluff trail. Saw several runners in the forest and really wanted to join them but wasn't dressed to run and didn't want to ditch my friends.
Our friends just rescued a new puppy. This is Molly and she is only 18mos old

Exposure on this isn't great because it was taken looking into the sun but the water and flowers were beautiful!

    January Total: 91k
    January Goal: 135k

Partly cloudy, mid 20s F with a light breeze from the northwest. Today would ordinarily be a rest day, but the upcoming weather forecast is anything but ordinary: snow; followed by sleet; followed by freezing rain; followed by rain; followed by snow again. Not a lot of desire to run in that, so I'll make tomorrow a rest day.

Next year when you pop in here claiming your December 2020 mileage, what accomplishments will you have made?

Return to a good running weight of 175 lbs
Run at least 4 5k races
    Get a 5k PR
Average at least 138k per month, to meet my Run the Year pledge of 1,020 miles

Run the Year Team: Pavement Pounders

Oh that dog is going to need something to do or it's going to make her own entertainment.

her attitude reminds me of old girl when i first got her. i wish i ran when i first got her.
    Molly is beautiful

Haven’t run since Sunday because of the shoulder thing and then our little dog (not Buzz the malamute) got sick and had to be put down yesterday.

It was also the anniversary of my mom’s death. Horrible,
    Horrible,
    Horrible day all around.

Today was long. Work, life group, home, moped around.

    *sigh*

Just a rough day all around. hugs from my pack to yours

Ran 2 miles. inside. i was a baby and decided not to run in 9f at night in the wind. i didn't want to run but i can't do big mileage without doing the foundational work.
supposed to run 4 tomorrow, 8 sunday but thinking of doing 8 tomorrow and 3 on sunday(race at the zoo). and then if i want i can poke around the zoo after and get a few walking miles with hills. or i can go stuff my face with my fellow team members.
i'm also going to try to go to a different trail on monday. i have off for mlk day. the challenge is to find a trail that isn't made up for nordic and cross country skiing

    eta @janejellyroll
snow on saturday. so maybe waiting to run on sunday instead

@Camaramandy648 I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. Today is the one year anniversary of saying goodbye to our sweet girl. I won't say it gets "better," but it gets different . . . less raw. My thoughts are with your family right now.

    1/1: 1.5m
    1/2: 3m
    1/3: 2m
    1/4: 3m
    1/5: 3.5m
    1/6: 2.5m
    1/7: 3.25m
    1/8: 4m
    1/9: 3m
    1/10: 2.25m
    1/11: 3m
    1/12: 5.75m
    1/13: .75m
    1/16: 3.5m

We're getting ready for a whole bunch of snow here, so I imagine I'll be on the threadmill for the rest of the weekend.

Went to the running clinic last night, no physios, lots of advice - "eat this, stretch that, wear orange, flap your arms like a duck, buy a garmin, it will all definitely make your back better". The one thing every agreed on was yoga and pilates, even random strangers in the railway station were telling me that so once I am back from my weekend away I will sit and watch a pilates video, not saying I'm going to do any of it but I will relax with a glass of wine for sure!

Yoga With Adrienne is good. Have the wine first... it’ll definitely help. 😀

I also like “Bob and Brad” on YouTube. The PT exercises they had for my neck and shoulder pain were amazingly effective
