Do not be discouraged. You will heal and walk more. Be patient with yourself. After my back injury I thought I'd never be me again, but I persisted and now I am walking more and usually without pain.

I averaged over 14,000 steps a day in December, but I'll keep my goal to a more modest 13,000 steps with winter here. When the roads are wet, snowy, or icy, I tend to log fewer steps on my pedometer for the same amount of walking.
I have a less than sterling recumbent exercise bike that doesn't keep track of distance so I keep track of time. I usually ride it for about two hours a day.

Do not be discouraged. You will heal and walk more. Be patient with yourself. After my back injury I thought I'd never be me again, but I persisted and now I am walking more and usually without pain.

Thank you for this! It has been hard for me. Once I started an exercise program back in 2008 I thought I could not do it. I walked 5 miles a day then. As I got older I had too cut back some but can still get 2-4 miles many days. When we go camping I walk off and on all day and have got in as much as 5-7 miles. Not being able too walk fast and far has been a downer for me. Still I will NOT give up....1 -

My left knee is almost complete I think! I see my Dr next Wednesday 29th. I am praying for a better month in February for getting back too my regular walking. My husband and I have been doing some inside exercises about every other day so I have at least done some sort of exercise that did not involve straining my knee..1 -
I averaged over 14,000 steps a day in December, but I'll keep my goal to a more modest 13,000 steps with winter here. When the roads are wet, snowy, or icy, I tend to log fewer steps on my pedometer for the same amount of walking.
I have a less than sterling recumbent exercise bike that doesn't keep track of distance so I keep track of time. I usually ride it for about two hours a day.
