Stair Climber vs Jacob's Ladder?

Curious if anyone has any input on either or both of these?
My previous gym had a Jacob's Ladder briefly and a lot of us loved it. I've now moved gyms and this one at the new gym looks a little different (I think it has more 'steps') ? They also have a stair stepper/climber that I've seen a lot of people on.
My main question would be if anyone can tell the difference in using the two? Is one better than the other?

Better in what way?
They're both good cardiovascular workouts. Jacobs Ladder however uses your whole body and engages your core while with a stair stepper you're pretty much using your lower body.2
