Put it in perspective. I’m training for a long walking trip in Spain. My backpack is 11 pounds 9 ounces. I’m walking 4-5 miles a day to get used to it.
It occurred to me yesterday morning that I’ve lost “seven backpacks”. That was a very sobering- and empowering- thought.
You, dear, have lost over three backpacks. Imagine carrying that weight on your back!!!!10 -
When you put it that way I feel even better about my weight loss9

You're doing so well - don't let that rude person rain on your parade!3

I told someone that I'd lost 38lbs only to be told, 'Well you have a long way to go.' Yes I know I have a long way to go but I need to celebrate 38lbs. So I'm asking you to celebrate with me because you all know how much effort I've had to put in to lose that amount.
I have to lose at least 90lb and when I lost my first 5 lb I was celebrating, so you’re doing great job don’t let anyone stopping you to reach your goal and congratulations on that weight you lost 💪👍3 -
Just adding to the chorus of support -- 38 lbs is outstanding work. So glad you posted here!4

Even more when you try to imagine strapping all of those to yourself. The reason the water bottle thing came to mind instantly for me is I have lost more than 6 of them. Last month we had 6 delivered and with them all sitting there I tried to imagine attaching all of them to my body and trying to walk around. It doesn't even seem possible yet that amount of weight was on my body.10 -
Whatever the reason for the negative comment was, don't let that stop you. 38 pounds lost is a due cause for celebration! Congratulations!
As for the jeans "problem"... it feels great, doesn't it? At least for me, it's one of my favorite "problems" to have ever since I started my weight loss.4 -
Go to the grocery store and pick up a bag of something as close to 38 lbs as you can. Maybe a big bag of dog food or potatoes. That is a lot of weight. You are a winner Vampire Queen! I hope you will continue to be motivated by your success so far.

That is no small achievement, think about that, 38 lbs is a medium sized child. Just think how much better your knees and back feel without carrying that around. With that much weight loss, its showing, its probably more that just people are hesitant to say something now a days because of need to be politically correct all the time, they wouldn't want to offend if you hadn't lost weight. Happened to me just this weekend, I'm down 28 lbs and a lady we knew noticed but wouldn't say anything to me, instead she texted my wife after the meet up and asked if I had lost weight. Said she didn't want to be rude if I hadn't which is funny we've turned this to being afraid to offend someone because honestly even if you hadn't lost weight, wouldn't it be nice to hear someone thinks you are and doing good? Any ways, as you said, celebrate the victory and keep on going because being healthy just feels so much better!6

38 lbs down is AMAZING!! You should be really proud of yourself! That is heartbreaking that someone said that to you, I am sorry you had to experience that. I had an unsupportive roommate while I was counting calories and I felt like she was trying to derail me with baking a lot of sweets. It was hard, but I got through it! You got this!3

That person was probably jealous. Nice work on 38lbs. That is amazing progress!3

Thanks everyone. I compared photos from last year and today. I can see that I've lost weight and it feels brilliant.16

Celebrate every single win no matter how big or small! Those who don't celebrate or care have more underlining issues that are not your problem. You got this! Super proud of you! I was stuck at 295 for over 6 weeks. I kept at it and broke the plateau. The old me would have given up. What would the new you say to the old you in this situation?4
