Thanks @shanaber for getting us started this month.
If I follow my training plan, I should run/intentionally walk 79 miles this month. I probably will miss a couple of days and play tennis instead of walking some days, but I am still going to set my goal to 75 miles. It will give me something to shoot for. If I do, it will be my highest mileage ever. My best so far has been 59.5 miles.11 -
I don't know how March is going to go, frankly. There's travel, major work deadlines, spring break, a possible hiking trip, more work deadlines, and training for the next Spartan race on the schedule. Some definite pros and cons to the running mileage in all of that, so I'm not sure. I'll just be optimistic and go with 100 miles.
Next week I head to Arizona from Wednesday to Sunday for a work conference in Scottsdale. I go to this same meeting almost every year and I love running there in the morning whenever I can. Escaping out of the snow and into the sun in early March is always a huge boost.

Has anyone on here ever ran the Tear Drop Half in Chatsworth, GA? I'm thinking about signing up for the 10K and was just wondering if you would recommend it or not.

I am in. A complete newbie to running. Going to follow c25k program. I always get shin splints everytime I try to run. How can I avoid it? Also i am flat footed. Will i need something supportive for the foot while running?13

Welcome! Go and get fitted for shoes from a proper shoe fitting outfit. The shinsplints and flatfeet may be related.5 -
I have no idea, but 100km seems like a nice round number. We'll see how the virus outbreak develops.13

Welcome @e_spriya . The first time I tried running, I got the worst shin splints ever! I couldn't walk up stairs for 2 weeks! Why? I went out too far and too fast. My advice is to take it slow. C25K is a great program. Don't feel like you have to run fast and don't worry about it if you have to take walk breaks or repeat a week. Good luck. We're all here for support.7

New here! I'm going to start with a goal of 40 & work up from there in future months. I've never tracked my miles per month before, so this should be enlightening!14

Welcome! In addition to the excellent advice of getting your shoes fitted, also try varying the surfaces you run on if you can. If you are always on sidewalks, run a little in the dirt next to it, and so one. Many people find the variation to be helpful.8 -
After only 88 miles running and 100 miles speed walking in Feb I need at least 150 miles running in March including 5 long runs. Still not over my manfluenza so it could be a slow start to the month and I am taking my SO away for her 50th to a beach holiday - not going to be easy, but then again it shouldn't be.

It is super creepy and intrusive but of course, it's to better "enhance" our experience or, truthfully, their bank accounts. Yes it's so so creepy. I logged on to Facebook twice after having conversations here to find immediately in my news feed advertisements or pop-up ads, whatever they are called, to what I had been discussing here.

Well I signed up for a trail Marathon days ago, no idea what I'm getting myself into but I'm looking forward to it nonetheless. I bought nice trail running shoes.

84.9/81 miles, goal hit for this month but I have been slacking almost two weeks now. Oh well, on track tomorrow with new goals for a new month.2 -

After slogging my way through the New Orleans marathon at the beginning of February, I’ve been working (mostly resting) my way back from overtraining (wherein among a multitude of other things, my RHR which is normally 55-60, peaked at 84. Now down to about 70. Yikes.).
I am scheduled to run the Canyonlands half on 3/14. We’ll see. I may try a little jog today to see how it feels.
I don’t currently have a mileage (or anything) goal nor do I think it’s prudent to set one, but among the OTS issues I’m battling is a loss of mojo/interest. I’m hoping that being part of an active running community will help my running love return.

My goals for 2020 are to stay injury free and healthy. I am also possibly going to try again for my first half marathon.
March goal : 80 miles
Plan goal: 86 miles
Allowing some leeway for bad weather and life happening.

St. Malachi 2 mile and 5 mile
May 16:
Cleveland Marathon Half and 5k
June 13 - 14:
Run and Ride Cedar Point 5k and Quarter Marathon
September 20:
Cleveland Hero's Run 5 miler

You will likely find that running trails is HARDER than running street, but recovery is faster and easier from trail running. Trail running seems to be gentler on your body in general.

My feb goal i think was 140 - i stopped thinking about it because i was injured but i did manage 111.84!!!
March goal - who knows, lol. I’ll go for 120. I SHOULD run 140 to stay on track with RTY8 -
Hey all.
Slept well last night. Got up this morning, did 4k, then took the kids to a bike bump track. First time ever and we all had a blast. Now I'm exhausted, and still have work at 3pm. Oh well. Fun was more important!
