Hi friends
I'm sorry I have been MIA lately, but with everything that's going on I think I need to take a break from MFP. Kids now home so my already hectic life has just gone a notch.
Who knows, I might be back in a few months time...but for now, I need to focus on other things and will hopefully at least maintain my weight.
Missing you already5 -

in 1735 The Witchcraft Act (9 Geo. 2 c. 5) was a law passed by the Parliament of the Kingdom of Great Britain in 1735 which made it a crime for a person to claim that any human being had magical powers or was guilty of practising witchcraft. With this, the law abolished the hunting and executions of witches in Great Britain. The maximum penalty set out by the Act was a year's imprisonment.
AND Freedom of the press: The New York Weekly Journal writer John Peter Zenger is acquitted of seditious libel against the royal governor of New York, on the basis that what he published was true.
AND Russo-Turkish War, 1735-1739: Russian forces fail to occupy the Crimea, due to rasputitsa.( = MUD!)2 -
Happy Thursday to everyone. My husband officially does not have coronavirus. Such good news. Had to run into my school today and pick up a few items. My mother in law came with me and we went to the bookstore afterwards. Got some work books for the kids. Grabbed some novels for my daughter and some Learning toys for the boys. Some of the websites my kids school recommended just won't load at our house, so low tech for us. My work has given no specific direction and rumors are starting. It just stresses me out and I wish they would get on with it. Oh well. Made it to the grocery store and got everything except toilet paper. Going to do pilates tonight after the kids go to bed.
@jugar Sounds like you were a busy bee! Glad your garden will not be flooded now.
@micki48 Glad you were able to make the most of not being able to sleep. Sounds like a relaxing morning!
@terytha Of course we should all have our post apocalyptic outfits figured out. Who would drive a vehicle without spikes anyway? Gotta have a sense of humor or we might go crazy!5 -
Happy Spring - it is arriving tonight or early tomorrow morning, depending where you are! This is the earliest Vernal Equinox in 124 years, so we can feel extra special. Leap Year, early equinox, crazy virus - what a year so far!
And tomorrow is our special day too - the most weigh-ins for any day in the week. Good old Friday
Heads Ups flying out to:

@conleywoods So glad to hear your husband’s test was negative. We are now awaiting test results for a good friend of my daughter and son in law. They were all together on Friday. Now we have to wait 4-5 days for results. We have been with my daughter and son in law every day since. So hopefully he is negative too. Otherwise we run the risk of having been infected too.
Eating...ugh. I’m eating sugar I haven’t had in a year. My daughter finished off the Irish potatoes, so thank god for that. I ate a Reese’s peanut butter egg today. And two blueberry muffins I made. Ugh. I’m going to log it all. I need to get a grip.1 -

Good morning! I’m up early with a throbbing toothache. I’m hoping to go back to sleep soon and wake up feeling better so I can get a work out in. Everyone please stay safe!5 -

Damn it! Up another 1/2#.
Supoose this May be a trend in our group this week. Emotions and stress and a new life style. I also shouldn’t be too hard on myself as I know that even 105.0 is a decent weight for my size (5’0”)

Happy Friday!
Remember, we can be the ones to step back, breathe calmly, and sit this dance out. Do other activities instead!
I saw an inexpensive DIY treadmill. Stand at the sink counter, pour a goodly amount of dish soap or even a bit of laundry detergent onto the floor and in bare feet, start walking as though on a treadmill. The soap makes your feet nice and slippery and you can increase speed as you warm up. The floor is going to be really clean soon!4 -

Probably lost the lb this week because I’ve been so stressed. Didn’t workout all week. Went for a walk 1x. Not eating that well because my stomach is in a knot.
I’m an ortho nurse practitioner. All elective surgeries and office visits have been canceled. I don’t know where they are going to re-assign me to. Scared of the supply shortage and that I won’t have the proper personal protective equipment. Scared that I could bring it home to my husband.8 -

@bunnybuns1111 - you are one of the people with the toughest work right now. I wish there was something more to say than that you have all our support and admiration. And I certainly hope that you will be issued with the best protective equipment, and that anyone who has masks, etc. at home will do the right thing and bring them to the hospital or clinic where they are most needed. Many distance hugs coming your way
@evelynladams527 - interesting year there - cholera. Ugh. But having really, really clean feet (and floors) will help with that
My year this morning is a really boring one - 1152. It was a Leap Year, but since it was so dull otherwise, I looked for other things. There is a series of comic books that fit the bill. This little feller looks ready to take on anything. AND there are snowshoes!!!

Staying at home and cooking instead of going to a restaurant must be working, not that I did that every day. Plus I've been doing Leslie Sansone workout videos too. Hopefully, we will all come out of this global disaster thinner, stronger, and wiser.
Picture it. It's the year 3490. If the planet can survive another 1200+ years, I suspect it will look a lot like The Jetsons, for those of us old enough to remember that cartoon. I can't even imagine anything else lol.😄8 -

This is a very small loss and I could not be happier. Honestly I couldn't have wept when I saw I had a loss. This date is far in the future! I will be 216 years old. Carbs are taking a big role in my diet and that needs to change.
Dear Carbs,
I can't see you as often anymore. Your clingy and you won't leave me alone. I need more variety in my life. Tell sugar it's clingy too.
It's not me, it's you,
Kristi
@evelynladams527 I have a small house and 3 kids and it's house cleaning day! I could set up a few "treadmill" stations and have really clean floors!
@micki48 Stuck waiting is the worst part! Hope you are in the clear and everyone stays healthy.
@bunnybuns1111 I'm so sorry. You are really in a tough position. Thank you for the work you do. Hopefully the administration will make the right decisions and keeps you safe. You are so appreciated.6 -

Happy Friday all!
So I was getting really really anxious earlier this week, all the news (domestic and global) was just so awful. As well as Covid 19, we were being told about truly selfish acts, such as people stockpiling when they were shopping and therefore leaving little or nothing for the vulnerable and elderly. Or buying up masks and gloves that are required by the heroes and heroines that are caring for the worst affected victims of this virus! Honestly, I despair.
Hubby noticed that I was "literally diminishing in front of me" because I was letting all of the negativity totally engulf me. So we sat down and looked at the facts. There is evidence all around us of wonderful acts of kindness, we see it in our families, in our neighbours, in our communities and elsewhere. I needed to remember that.
Consuming social media and news every hour is poisonous - there's only so much negativity that we can cope with, and the truth is that the news is getting worse every day.
I have plenty to do here - my work continues (I'm an online English language teacher), I have a few house interior projects to get underway and I am struggling through my online Spanish lessons too. And I quilt for pleasure.
So it was clear that I needed to create a new normal.
Here it is:
We used to go to bed with the radio on (tuned to a news channel) and normally wake up with the radio too. We don't do that anymore.
I work out first thing in the morning, have coffee and then I shower.
Now I take our dog out for a walk after my shower (this means that I need to get changed and can't stay in my sweats all day too!)
When we get back from walking, I go to my studio to work (and don't go into any social media while I'm online).
After lunch I have a craft hour - with a podcast for company.
Then I finish my day at 6pm.
And 6pm is when Ben and I finally sit down and watch and discuss the news.
We've been doing this for the past 3 days and I feel so much better now!6 -
