Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: So, just as I thought that I was mostly recovered last week from the flu/virus I got in February, it turns out that that was not the case. I still had one lingering symptom that would not go away, and came down with a fever on Tuesday and decided to go to the doctor on Wednesday. The doctor thinks it's probably a secondary bacterial infection that developed, so I've been on antibiotics since Wednesday. I'm cautiously optimistic and think that I've improved a bit since then, and hope to keep improving.
Weightwise, my weight went really down this week compared to last week (109.9 average v. 111.6 average). I had two days this week just under 109 lbs (108.6 and 108.8), which is still within my range, but I was definitely a bit concerned about it and know that it was related to my illness. As a comparison, when I got sick in mid-late February, I had a few days where I weighed in at 109.8 and one 109.6, and hadn't seen anything in the 109 range since June. To counteract the weight I seem to have lost, this week I've been eating extra calories when possible and, while I've continued to track/log them, I'm not counting them against my usual surplus/deficit plan. Since I was feeling a bit better yesterday, I made a pie in honor of Pi day and ate 2 pieces (~800 calories, but I need them!).4 -

Hi! My name is Kristen. And I struggle to maintain my weight. I have had great success losing/gaining, but I'm hoping this group helps me be more accountable. I weigh only 1x week on Sundays, so that's when I'll check in. My 2 goals in 2020 are to not let the scale go above 153 and weigh in EVERY Sunday for the WHOLE YEAR. This seems easy to most, but I get lazy and make excuses why I don't need to weigh in and then all of a sudden everything in my closet has shrunk. LOL

March 8th: 142 (Trend Weight: 142.2)
March 15th: 142.9(Trend Weight: 142.7)
March 22nd:
March 29th:
Successes: I'm happy with the gain this week, but I'm not surprised. I've been drinking more (alcohol) and snacking more. And I'm sure not really knowing what I'm eating has helped balance things out.
Struggles: My company has asked us to work at home until April 6th, and while that excites me, I know it will get really old really fast. I was supposed to start a Public Speaking seminar (8 week, 1x a week) April 6th and with the uncertainty of all this, I will have to push it off until our Summer time slot. Can't teach public speaking in a time of 'social distancing'.
We will see what the first week of 'working at home' does to the scale. Good luck everyone!

March 8th: LA MARATHON / CALIFORNIA VACATION WEEK
March 15th: 150.3 (Trend Weight:149.6 )
March 22nd:
March 29th:
Successes: I was able to turn off my calorie counting brain and enjoy literally everything I wanted to on vacation. Corn Dogs, montecristos, desserts, in-n-out.
Struggles: The LA Marathon was a bomb for me. I fell two miles in banging my knee cap really hard. By mile 6 it was the size of a grapefruit and continuing to finish just wasnt an option. Since then the swelling has come down a lot and I've been able to mostly move as normal. Did some x-rays as a precaution and nothing is broken. Hoping after another week or so I'll be able to go for my first run since.
I'll put my weight spike under struggle but I expected some level of weight gain / water retention with the change in diet. After returning from california I was up over 10 pounds. Half of it was lost over a couple days leading me to believe it was mostly water.
Here's hoping in a couple weeks this will be a blip on my maintenance chart.

March 8th: 158.2 lb (trend 160.7)
March 15th: 160.6 lb (trend 160.1)
Successes of the week: I've kept my weekly calorie average on point despite day to day swings. I've been able to continue working out at the fitness center at work despite social distancing, given that there are generally only one or two (or none, if I'm there in the middle of the night) other people there.
Struggles of the week: A bit more stress at work at the hospital with the coronavirus impact beginning to be felt more strongly. I'm trying to build in more meditation and relaxation at home to compensate.
Have a great week, everyone!3 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: last week I was in recovery from the 40km charity walk the Sunday before (was so sore and stiff for the first half of the week, and the mega blister on the bottom of my foot continued to be tender for even longer), so stuck to restorative yoga, focused on legs, hips & feet.
I finally got that DEXA scan. Still trying to get my head around the results and work out what the key things I should be working towards.- 26.9% body fat; goal 23% (for women my age the healthy range is 23-33%; 21-24% for fitness level).
- Fat mass 17.6kg; goal 15kg (15-20kg is considered "excellent" for women, 5-15kg for professional athletes)
- Fat Mass Index 6.14kg/m2; goal 5 (5-9 healthy range for women).
- Muscle mass 48kg, which I am pretty happy with (40kg+ healthy for women). Relative Skeletal Muscle Index is 7.6kg/m2 (healthy normal 7-8, fitness level 8-9). Total lean mass/height ratio is 16.72 kg/m2 (15-18 for women is healthy). I guess it wouldn't hurt to improve on this, but I'm not sure how much additional muscle I should be working towards building (particularly considering I just do body weight exercises, at home, and have no interest in hitting the gym).
- Bone Mineral Density is 1.272g/cm2 (which puts me in the top 3% of age-matched people), and Bone Mineral Contents is 2.7kg. Happy with that.
So aim to lose 2.6 kg of fat, and build about another 1kg of muscle (n.b. the day I had the scan my weight was up 1.8kg from the weight I'm trying to maintain, so I don't think I need to adjust my maintenance goal weight).

How long in maintenance: 9 months
Maintenance weight range: 48 – 51 kg (106 – 112 lbs)
Average weight recorded from 2018: max 72.5 kg in July, 56 kg in Dec
Average weight 2019 : 49.8 kg – reached goal weight in April, average since then 48.7 kg
Average weight recorded in December 2019: 48.6 kg (107lb)
Average weight recorded for January: 49.8 kg (110 lb)
Average weight recorded for February: 51.2 kg (113 lb)
March 2nd: 51.2 kg (trend 51.1)
March 9th: 50.7 kg (trend 51.1)
March 16th: 50.6 kg (trend 50.8)
Successes/struggles: I’ve been weighing and logging my food very well. I have increased my exercise – swimming twice, gym twice and been out on my bike. My average steps were over 10,000 last week. My weight did drop to 50 kg exactly on Friday so there is a definite downward trend.
We have just been given advice that over 70s should stay home for the foreseeable future. (I’m in England) Luckily, I’m not quite 70 but many of my friends are. Having been at home for 6 weeks following my op I’m not looking forward to it. I’ve only just got back to a fairly normal lifestyle.
