On a serious note related to it, domestic violence is up worldwide due to the quarantine. People had to know this was going to happen. :(

I imagine once this is over and the smoke has cleared, we’ll see a clear picture of rampant domestic abuse, substance abuse, depression and suicide.

Yep. :( I always hated the long, cold winters where I used to live. We would get a number of domestic violence, and suicide calls because people were shut indoors and it was too cold to go out. But, on the opposite spectrum, the long hot and humid spells during the summer homicides would go up.

    Can't win. :(

I remember reading homicide numbers that indicated when it became hot, the numbers would rise.

However, when it became brutal hot, the numbers would decline.

It was like it was too hot to even bother with some *kitten*.

How bout you stop whining and just be greatful you have a job to go to. You're fortunate under the circumstances, count your blessings.

This is what I've reminded people around me. And on an even more extreme end the countries who do not have the hospitals and advancements and level of supports in place like we do. We have a lot to be grateful for.

Thank you. I honestly can't listen to the people complain anymore about the minor inconveniences this is all bringing them. I get it, but we need to look at the bigger picture sometimes. Take this time to appreciate the things you DO have. There's plenty of life lessons being taught right now and hopefully we'll come out of this with a different perspective on the things we took for granted.

I agree. I dislike irks and pet peeves as a general rule.

but I also know that bitching and laughing together makes people feel united. Right now, when we can’t even gather to support each other against this common enemy it’s so hard. After 9-11 we felt and saw this sense of community even among neighbors we had never spoken to. And now all we have are our jokes and complaints and faith that other people are feeling it too.
