@FeelinFooFoo You GO girl!! You can do this...it's great that you have some support at work and your partner is on board. Like you said all you can do its try...it's better than not trying...we all know where that leads. Glad you are back with us.

According to our updated list of essential services in Ontario, my service is not on it!! So I am officially out of work for the foreseeable future until the restrictions lift to enable me to return to work. I am very thankful I qualify for a government income supplement for a few months...it will be very tight but doable...at least the basics rent, food, car payment etc will be paid for. Nothing much else to spend $$ on cause there is nowhere to go. Aside from restaurants, & other forms of entertainment, all of our parks, waterways, beaches, most parks are off limits....BUT most trails are still open thankfully!!
All we have is today!! This mindset is so helpful in many areas of life, but in particular with regard to our alcohol issues. Like @Whitpauly says, "another 24" and that same philosophy can be helpful during this global crisis we are all experiencing together...we just have to get through each day healthy & whole.
I am also thankful for living a contented, simple life so that the isolation isn't so isolating for me and how thankful we all can be that we have online social connections and even our worship services are being held online. If this pandemic had happened 20 or 30 yrs ago, it would be a much more isolating experience. I am feeling very grateful today
I'm also very thankful for all of you who have supported me through this journey we are on together!!

Things I am grateful for today:
Not using alcohol to numb myself through this
The irony that though we are separated in some ways we’re more connected than ever
My incarcerated students’ faces that light up like never before when I join them each day via Skype
Their continued wellness and safety
Jigsaw puzzles, although Starry Night is killing me
FaceTime with my granddaughters as they plant a garden and make Easter cookies
My CSA, which safely provides fresh organic produce
Providers of free uplifting content for entertainment and inspiration
The compassion we’re witnessing toward those hardest hit by this
This group that encourages me every day
The fact that I can think of so many things to add to this list but don’t want to take up more space.

I also notice that after several days of sobriety, I feel so calm; I have this inner peace. Much less anxiety, too.
And the evenings are quite long when you're sober which is why I need to have lots of things to do. I make a list of three things I want to accomplish each day (besides work obligations). I also write down five things I am grateful for. Have a great one!8 -

I had started drinking a lot when we started WFM then moved to stay at home orders. I am 8 days sober.
I am feeling much better. I have been running more which helps a lot. I needed a rest day from running so I did weights this morning. I have a descent amount of equipment but miss my gym. I am going to stay sober while stuck at home.8 -

I go from feeling ok about all of this lockdown to bursting into tears at the drop of a hat, I miss the life I had, miss my job,miss a big ole plate of cheesy goodness at my favorite Mexican place, miss breakfast out with hubs, miss taking the little ones to the park, miss shopping at Bath and Body works, just alot of things I took for granted 😭 5:54 am in closed Vegas another 24 of no yucky booze, have a nice day all (and don't be strangers!)💗8

I was missing Bath and Body Works, too. I am burning a lot of candles these days. They make me happy. But many are getting quite low. I am similar, mostly I feel ok and I know it could be a lot worse... then sometimes, I cover my face and cry for a minute or two and then pull myself together.
Yes, 9 years of no misery sounds like heaven. I marvel at long term sobriety but also know it takes one day at a time. So just for today, I'll stay sober. 4 -
Tonight, we have a Zoom book club. I have read all three books this year for my book club. (One of my 2020 goal was to read a book month.)
The host of the Zoom said, "Let me know if you're coming, so I know how much wine to buy."
I will pour Perrier in a wine glass and enjoy the conversation.7 -
I am not as productive as I was in the beginning of this nightmare, but at least I am staying sober. Watching too much tv, eating too much, not walking enough. Not good. I too am missing going shopping, going out to dinner, playing with my granddaughters (the most) getting my toes and hair done etc. I will not be taking these things for granted in the future. Hopefully the curve is flattening and we can ease our way back into normalcy soon.6

Hello Everybody I wish I had some words of wisdom but I do not!! I only know I am grateful to be AF cause if I was still drinking, I would likely be drinking a lot right now and feeling like a dog's breakfast. Instead I am eating more than I wish to, but I think I am in good company. It seems like even those who normally do not have an eating issue are developing one...
This is such a stressful time on so many levels I really hope that we can all just be kinder to ourselves & can find the time to do some random kindness to another and try to go with the flow as much as possible. That's all, just wishing the best for everyone here...hangin' in is about the best any of us can do.

Sober and sunny here in the midwest. I will be moving in a few weeks to a cute little ranch home. So, I am keeping busy planning that move.

I am not endorsing it, because I haven't checked it out. Just another avenue for information doesn't hurt. I like treating this addiction as a project or class. But quite honestly, I am tired about thinking about drinking (borrowed line from a website.).7 -
RubyRed I am on womenforsoberity but a few months ago they changed their forum and it's just not as user friendly as it was before so I quit going on there, you might like it tho if you try🤷🏻♀️2

I am 4338 days AF or 11.9 years and right now in Bergen county NJ we are quarantined except for shopping and the highlight of yesterday was finding a medical supply house to get a bottle of peroxide a bottle of rubbing alcohol a box of surgical gloves and 8ozs of a hand cleaner disinfectant 3 of the 5 liquor stores in town are currently closed and sometimes the lines at the remaining stores get long.
It gave me pause and a look back to the days I was still drinking we had a country house and I couldnt go away without making sure I had sufficient gin to drink when we came home Sunday night, since with traffic we could get back after the stores closed. I remember stopping in route to hit a liquor store because it was getting late on a Sunday and the stores were going to close. Actually getting off the highway and driving around till I found a store to buy a bottle before getting back on the highway and continuing home. I see myself as an independent strong individual but gave up control to a bottle of gin.
May 20 2008 with overriding health concerns I stopped drinking that day cold turkey and it will be 12 years next month.
Even though I am locked away in my house I am still feeling free because I don't NEED to find a bottle. Hopefully at some point this too will pass and we will look back shake our heads and say remember when we were afraid to even go food shopping out in public. Between NYC and Northern NJ about 1000 people a day are being lost to this horrible virus.
Lets focus on all that's good in our lives and lets reach out to one another and support each other.

If you pay the money on the credit card, not only do you save the interest, but the money's there on the card to spend if things get tight.

Good advice and I have paid on the visa and MasterCard but I have a couple of department store cards that I'm thinking of just letting go to collections,this is frustrating and I dunno what to do 😭4
