Weigh less than a month ago challenge

I am in maintenance with a goal weight of 143 pounds and an allowable goal range of 140-150 pounds and an IDEAL goal range of 142 - 148. I fluctuate wildly day-to-day, and try to stay fairly steady month-to-month. I often succeed, and sometimes I am not exactly where I want to be. I will update here once per week and report my ten-day average weight.
April 18: 2019: Ten-day average 143.5 - Low-middle of IDEAL goal range and just above ultimate final weight. I was around my lowest average weight on my entire journey. Those were good days.
January 18: Ten-day average 143.5 - Low-middle of IDEAL goal range and just above ultimate final weight.
February 18: Ten-day average 144.3 - Low-middle of IDEAL goal range.
March 18: Ten-day average 146.6 - Getting near top of IDEAL goal range.
April 18: Ten-day average 148.8 - Over the top of my IDEAL goal range; very close to the top of absolute max goal range. Up a whole pound from a week ago.
I gained in March, and I continued to gain in the first half of April. It looks like I may have maxed out and have started to moderate again back to where I should be.
This has been my second biggest spike since I started weight maintenance almost two years ago. My only solace is that I did have ONE that was bigger. It was shortly after I got into maintenance and was learning to adjust. This one? Well.... stress eating is a big part of it. And being at home so much of the time. And being a good cook.....
Hey, wait; here's another good thing: As my weight does start to come back down, I'll be able to post here that YES I weigh less than last month If I accept my wider ten-pound goal range, I haven't quite gone over it, but I certainly went over the top of what I claim to be my goal range ten of the last 14 days by scale weight and seven days by ten-day average. The TrendWeight app says it's only four days, and only by 0.1 pounds, so I will go with that and still say I'm maintaining. Not very well, but.....

I'm still at a "normal" BMI (24), as well as a "healthy" Smart BMI (35). In fact, the Smart BMI has me smack in the middle of the ideal range. These are good metrics, too, so I should feel ok about it.
That aside; it's not where my expectations are. I felt good and with lots of energy when I was at or near my goal weight. I've felt a little bloated lately, but I am eating quite a lot. Most of what I'm eating is decent food. I am enjoying cooking. And I'm enjoying all that I'm eating. I just am not sure I should be eating this much.
To be honest, I am not really sure how I feel about it. I am not (yet) ready to move the goal line. For one thing, I fear if I do that, I will then move up from THERE and if I keep doing that.... Back where I started!
I'm giving myself a little permission to just let things luff for a while with all the crap we're going through staying physically separated from other people. I know I'll get back to where I want to be, and even then, I still really want to build a little more lean mass and lose some fat mass. I don't trust the number that my BIA scale tells me, but from looking at pictures of myself, I think it's not too far off. I could stand to be a little less "fat."

Great question, though! It's something we should all ask ourselves often.
Awesome answer. I find my “green heart” method is helping me realize what maintenance is. I.E. it’s maintaining...I catch myself thinking “oh I didn’t lose” but when you’re maintaining, that’s not the goal.
The end result for me will be being in times of “true” maintenance & deciding when to switch (If ever) to “losing mode.” Having a clear demarcation is helping me relax more.0 -

January 25: Ten-day average 142.7 - At goal; Ultimate final weight. That was nice.
February 25: No scale; SCUBA diving in Roatan, Honduras. That was awesome.
March 25: Ten-day average 147.1 - Getting near top of IDEAL goal range.
April 25: Ten-day average 148.5 - Over the top of my IDEAL goal range; very close to the top of absolute max goal range. But down 0.3 from a week ago.
Not sure if it's just the stress of "modern times" or something else. I started gaining in March, and that coincided with the start of concern about SARS-CoV-2. I have slowly continued to gain in April. At least I'm starting to gain more slowly. I keep thinking I'm hitting "the top," but then... up.0 -

I am in maintenance with a goal weight of 143 pounds and an allowable goal range of 140-150 pounds and an IDEAL goal range of 142 - 148. I fluctuate wildly day-to-day, and try to stay fairly steady month-to-month. I often succeed, and sometimes I am not exactly where I want to be. I will update here once per week and report my ten-day average weight.
April 25: 2019: Ten-day average 142.9 - At goal; Ultimate final weight. I was around my lowest average weight on my entire journey. Those were good days.
January 25: Ten-day average 142.7 - At goal; Ultimate final weight. That was nice.
February 25: No scale; SCUBA diving in Roatan, Honduras. That was awesome.
March 25: Ten-day average 147.1 - Getting near top of IDEAL goal range.
April 25: Ten-day average 148.5 - Over the top of my IDEAL goal range; very close to the top of absolute max goal range. But down 0.3 from a week ago.
Not sure if it's just the stress of "modern times" or something else. I started gaining in March, and that coincided with the start of concern about SARS-CoV-2. I have slowly continued to gain in April. At least I'm starting to gain more slowly. I keep thinking I'm hitting "the top," but then... up.

COVID is playing a part for me.
Neg:
1. Having to stock up on food is not good for me.
2. Getting food cues from store/delivery websites is not good for me.
3. & a few others
POS:
1. Not being able to eat out is helping me.
2. Taking longer, harder, steeper hikes with my husband is helping me.
All in all, I am doing better since COVID weight wise & stength wise, but the quality of my foods may be down a bit.0 -

I am SUPPOSED TO BE in maintenance with a goal weight of 143 pounds and an allowable goal range of 140-150 pounds and an IDEAL goal range of 142 - 148. May 2: 2019: I was away from my scale while rowing a raft on the Lower Owyhee River. Oh, I sure miss river trips. But my ten-day average before I left and after I came back was at 142.0 and 142.1 - At goal; Ultimate final weight and bottom of IDEAL goal range. I was around my lowest average weight on my entire journey. Those were good days. River trips!
February 2: Ten-day average 144.7 - Just about smack in the middle of IDEAL goal range.
March 2: Ten-day average 144.3 - Just above ultimate goal and in the lower third of IDEAL goal range.
April 2: Ten-day average 146.1 - A third of the way to the top of my IDEAL goal range; just above the middle of absolute goal range. But down a whole pound from the previous week.
May 2: Ten-day average 149.5 - Over the top of IDEAL goal range. I could hardly be any closer to the top of my ABSOLUTE range. I'm up a whole pound from a week ago.
This wasn't a good week. I had three of seven days with a SCALE weight over the top of my absolute goal range. The other four days were all just a half pound or less away from the top. It's down a LITTLE bit today, so I need to keep going.
