Hi... This is my first round of the 10 day challenges but hoping to become active in many more. I’m excited to get some weight off before my July vacation (if allot amidst COVID-19)

4/30/20 - 148
5/1/20 - 147.5 ( I was at my moms house and the food was delicious... but sooo not part of my healthy eating... I hope it doesn’t effect my weight TOO much) I will have a better day tomorrow

5/4/20 -148
5/5/20 -148 (Cinco de Mayo)

05/06 - 152.6 - Well, Cinco de Mayo ruined it for me but still down from last round's end weight. Oh well. Homemade tacos with rice and beans -- I'm a sucker for tacos. Most of this is sodium from the taco marinade so not too worried. Another sad note with an added frustrated rant-- I ordered my fitbit with 2 day shipping and now it's not supposed to arrive until Saturday. Apparently, during COVID, next day shipping is next week shipping, 2 day shipping is 5-6 day shipping and regular shipping is next day? No joke, I ordered something on Amazon.. checked shipping and it departed from Pennsylvania. It arrived in 36 hrs with regular prime shipping. Also, I shipped a very large package to my mom. 52lb big ol' box! Regular shipping, nothing special (too $$$$) -- arrived 2 days earlier than what the USPS receipt stated. Friend had something "overnighted" for work and it took a week and a half. Really screwed up his work and all his downline, too. Plus the money he spent to get it overnighted (hello $$$$$) couldn't be refunded. (that really irks me -- at least I didn't pay for 2 day shipping with Fitbit due to the Mother's Day deals going on). Just.... HOW? I get the Amazon thing to an extent since they have a lot of their own couriers and such but the package to my mom and my friend's work stuff were 100% directly through USPS. Mine made it faster than his did by 4 days. And he spent 3x as much to get his there faster. Really bums me out because I got my shoes to go walk/run in and now I don't have a fitbit to track it with! I was hoping to go today. Guarantee by the time I get my fitbit, I'll be commuting and have to choose between eating, showering, sleeping, and walking/running. The walk/run is going to be the first to go, and I'll probably just do OMAD some days so I can shower and sleep at a decent time.
Sorry for the long rant. I'm just frustrated. Had a fitbit, didn't have shoes. Have shoes, don't have a fitbit. Spent too much money to get shoes and replace fitbit so I can motivate myself to stay healthy (and monitor my very screwed up sleep schedule) and all for what seems like naught right now. Guess I'll put off running to just walk and carry my phone? Must figure out how to enable Do Not Disturb mode -- never fails when I'm working out is when everyone I've ever met wants to text me and call me which is why I usually leave my phone at home when I'm running in the neighborhood.
Previous Day's Comments04/27 - I can handle this to start. I'd love to see 14x.x this round but time will tell. Especially since my weight has been jumping around, I want to see if my scale is okay and its not just me. Though, it may just be me afterall. Old batteries so guess I'll figure that out soon. My shoes have not yet shipped but with the virus and the weekend, I'm not surprised. Can't really run or walk much without them, though. Got a nice blister from walking the golf course yesterday with the boys learning how to play. Even though I didn't play, I really enjoyed it and once I learn (and get less frustrated with myself over it) I think I'm gonna be another one to the list of people I know who like to have a nice relaxing day at the course. No known plans today besides try not to nap (as much as I may wan to right now and I just woke up!). Need to hydrate horribly! Got more dehydrated and sunburn on the course than I did the beach Saturday!
04/28 - I ate a little more than I wanted to last night but BF made dinner and I held out until then. Think I ate a little too much there but it was soooooo good. Shoes still have not shipped and I'm honestly nervous that they won't ship until after I go back to commuting (meaning I only have the opportunity to walk Friday-Sunday). I guess that's better than nothing at all. I'm so sore from jetskis and golf trip somehow so I'm wondering if some weight is just DOMS. Another day, another chance to make changes for the better!
Edit: The girls and I decided each of us was going to meal prep lunches for the week and divide them amongst ourselves. Hard part meal prepping is having the same thing on repeat and since I commute the longest out of everyone, it makes my life easier to have lunches prepped. I'm going to make chicken teriyaki stir fry bowls and the girls each have their own they will make as a trial before things open back up fully. All of us are trying to eat healthier so hopefully this turns out well!
04/29 - I'll take it! So I think my scale is good, its just my body fluctuating THAT much with water weight. Going to be making my Teriyaki chicken stir fry meal prep for the girls today as the one furthest out has to come to town anyway and we are going to trade at that point. Guess I should go make coffee and start that before it gets too late and its not ready in time. I'll have some good lunches for a few days now (: Storm this morning so rather gloomy day. Hoping it brightens up because I'm going to be struggling if not. Think quarantine is really starting to get to me mentally as BF told me I haven't been happy with my work situation since I started but I think its less about work and more about being chained to a computer when I can't do or understand anything that's been thrown my way anyway. Do I enjoy getting paid for doing almost nothing? Yes. Am I tired of having to check my computer and being chained to it for no reason but to show I'm "working"? Absolutely. Will I be happier commuting so far for work once all this is over? Sure will, but at least I'll have something to pass the days than sit around and watch tv all day feeling unable to do anything. Sorry for the mini-rant, had to get it out of my system.
04/30 - Goal met, but can I keep it that way? Can I be a little more secure (lower) within my vague goal? Stay tuned! Today will be rough. The dog decided to be a spaz at 5am (working from home I get up at 615) and came to lay on my chest while panting and shivering like crazy. No point in trying to fall back asleep so I'm up early. Guess today is the perfect day to try my new espresso machine? I know in a few short weeks (likely, no official word) I will be waking up at 4-430 to commute to work but I plan on going to bed sooner than what I have been to acommodate my changing schedule. And I plan on learning my espresso machine by then to have a nice morning sipper on the drive. Last night was not one of those nights I went to bed early haha I see a nap and espresso machine learning experience in my future.5/01
05/02 - - More than a little shocked by this but very happy. Maybe its a good sign for a good month of May? I hope so. Top is off the jeep for summer (first time the full top came off since I've owned it -- to big, awkward, and heavy for me alone), doors are off, and as of yesterday, new lights and foglamps (: Now to keep dropping so I can feel confident in the shorts and swimsuits I'll probably be in more often than not (another beach day coming tomorrow).
05/03 - DNP
05/04 - DNP
05/05 - This weekend and yesterday was all over the place! I thought I'd stay up high with pizza last night but apparently my sodium craze plus DOMS Friday and Saturday was too much for the pizza last night and I dropped anyway. I'm quite okay with that, though sad I'm out of 140s by enough I don't think I'll make it back by tomorrow. My running/walking shoes finally made it in so I may (depending on how today goes with work) try to go for a walk and add jogging in where I feel comfortable. Friday we went kayaking and Saturday we spent literally ALL DAY at the lake so I was exhausted and sore as all get out. Yesterday I was still struggling with my muscles so I took another lazy day. Sunday was 100% lazy, didn't even get out of PJs. Today's focus is water and portion control. May need to run to the store as I promised this week I'd make some coconut lime shredded chicken tacos. Not sure if I'll make it for tonight or tomorrow. Now, time to catch up with everyone since my short absence!
Edit: I lost my fitbit and had to order a new one... Good news is that it gave me a chance to upgrade. Bad news, I didn't want to spend the money and I have to wait until tomorrow to get it ): (free 2 day shipping, thanks Mother's Day!)

Good morning, all! Is R113 up yet? I don’t see it, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t there. Wonder if I’m missing it.3
-
@matratazola I've missed you! I wondered where you went and if you were getting along okay. Glad to know you're coming back to us (:2
-
@kblanc14 I had no idea about the antihistamines! I've had to take my allergy meds regularly (usually don't have allergies but moving to a completely new location with way different weather really got me) and now I get why I seem to never feel satiated like I normally do! I just researched it myself a little bit and it isn't 100% proven, but everybody is different and it makes sense. I moved and was suddenly hungry all the time! I knew it couldn't be the move itself -- that was the relief not the stress haha Stress came from trying to find a job and quitting my old one!1

OSW: 245.0 (sometime in 2015)
RSW/RSBF%: 238.4/20.6 (4/26/2020)
UGW: 199.9
Goal for the round: 7.5 lbs (not expecting this to be sustainable)
Weight/BF%/Comment:
04/27: 237.0 (-1.4)/20.4 (-0.2)
04/28: 236.6 (-0.4)/20.3 (-0.1)
04/29: 235.6 (-1.0)/20.2 (-0.1)
04/30: 233.2 (-2.4)/19.9 (-0.3)
05/01: 232.0 (-1.2)/19.8 (-0.1). Hi everybody. I've missed you all, and this place. I've been trying to dip my toe back into the idea of getting myself healthy again, with little success. It's frustrating to have gotten (again) so close to my all-time highest weight. Every time this happens (my relapse), I initially (for a while, actually) beat myself up for getting into this place again. It's easy to forget how stressful life is right now for just about everyone, and how it might be a decent idea to give myself a break. Especially when I look in the mirror. I've been tracking my food successfully now for a few days, but not being able to go to the gym or play basketball has significantly inhibited my ability to perform enjoyable exercise activities. I bought some home gym equipment (rowing machine and sliding gravity weight-lifting machine) at the beginning of COVID-19 lockdown, but my motivation to use it has been sporadic.
05/02: 230.8 (-1.2)/19.7 (-0.1). Six days in, 7.6 lbs and 0.9 BF% down. I still don't think this is sustainable (check that... I KNOW this is not sustainable), but already my massive gut (from 4/26) is looking better. I know that it will be harder to notice a difference later, so I'm appreciative of this moment, where things are moving fast and it's easy to see. I've been doing really well at staying within my calorie goal each day, even with "splurges." Last night I had a beer with dinner, but I planned on that earlier in the day by reducing my snack intake. It's early, and there will still be ups and downs, but being here works (community support and friendship). Counting calories works. There's simply no reason for me NOT to be here. I like being here. AND I love all of you for being here, too. I'm going to work on integrating some exercise into my daily life at home.
05/03: 230.2 (-0.6)/19.6 (-0.1). I was over my calories by about 300 yesterday, though I tend to overestimate my food intake a bit (purposely). My alcohol and "crap" intake(s) have decreased dramatically since I've been back; I think it has a lot to do with simply tracking my food. So far, so good. I'm feeling lazy today.
05/04: 230.6 (+0.4)/19.7 (+0.1). I was slightly over calories again yesterday (~220). To put it in perspective, though, my calorie goal is set to 500 below "maintenance," so "over" is still under maintenance, as long as it's less than 500 calories. Now, the weigh-in: it's my first "positive" weigh-in since I've been back. It's not heart-breaking (it can be sometimes, and has been in the past); I don't feel deflated. When I'm in a "good place," this is how it goes. Day-to-day "snapshots" don't matter as much as trends, but paying attention (being mindful) moment-to-moment (every meal, even every bite) is INCREDIBLY important.
05/05: 230.6 (0.0)/19.7 (0.0). I had to roll out last night as part of my on-call shift (I am a psychologist who works in law enforcement). It threw my night off a little bit, which made food tracking difficult. I also ended up having some mixed drinks (four Vodka Lemon Drops) with my wife when I returned home. I still believe I was under maintenance for the day (341 calories over my goal). I'm still doing "okay," but I am noticing out loud that I have three days in a row in which I was over in my calories (where I was "on target" the previous four days). I don't feel like I'm out of control, but I'm going to try to be more mindful in the moment. The drinks last night were what really got me.
05/06: 232.0 (+1.4)/19.8 (+0.1). I had to roll out AGAIN last night, and I spent 3.5 hours in a hospital waiting for one of my former clients to get picked up (taken to another facility). Having my plans thrown off by circumstances is a frustrating part of my work (sometimes). I need to be better about sticking to my plan on the other days, however. Overall, even with this gain, this week was still a good start. I'm excited to get all the way back on track (sticking to calorie goals, which I missed by about 200 again last night).
Round 112 EW/EBF%: 232.0 (-6.4)/19.8 (-0.8), AW/ABF%: 232.9 (-5.5)/19.91 (-0.69)

Day/Weight/Comment
04/26 …..204.3….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND Weight was inflated due to travel & Chinese food the day before. Therefore, my hope is to lose a full 2 pounds (or more) this round to be at a 0.1 deficit (or more). If the travel yesterday caused suspected water weight, this, at minimum should be attainable.
04/27 …..203.2 ….. And there goes the water from the Chinese Food two days ago. Now, to work on the weight gain. Goal: 202.3 or less. I worked hard yesterday doing a mix-up of movement and exercise. Very sore knees over the past couple of days due to some of my exercise choices so I’m keeping an eye on that. I pray today will be a strong day. It is Sunny & beautiful today with no rain expected until after 8:00 PM tonight so I plan on taking advantage of that. I will be traveling tomorrow for carpeting about 200 miles away each way. Carpet sales were prohibited until May 1st so I’m getting my butt out there to get the 7 different pieces/sizes that I need. Good luck everyone on this round!
04/28 …..203.1 ….. Travel today. I expect the scale will be up tomorrow.
04/29 …..208.4 ….. Are you flipping kidding me????? Yes, I double-checked the scale several times. Travel yesterday consisted of no snacks, a light lunch and a small dinner I split into two portions (brought the other one home). High sodium Thai dinner with real rice (not cauliflower) so I know I’m retaining some water but this is crazy! I did eat the other half of the dinner at about 1:00 AM (about 3 hours before I went to bed). Today is cold, very gloomy and depressing with lots of rain. I will be indoors all day but I will be walking my hallways, using my ski machine etc. Lots of Parsley tea for me today! It was a long trip and when we arrived I could not even bring home the carpet. They did not have enough of the color/style I chose so they have ordered it precut in my sizes (I need 6 pieces). So next week will be another trip. Better choices next time!
04/30 …..207.9 ….. I peed all night so the water is shedding from the travel food. Traveling 3 times in the past week has made my journey a little rough this past week, but moving forward and soldiering on. I am going to work on some cleaning projects today in my house so I will try to stay fairly active but sorting clothing and going through paperwork does not involve a lot of steps so I will try to fit in some sets of other things. Yesterday I managed to burn an extra 858 calories with exercise. It is cold and rainy again here so I’ll be staying inside.
05/01 …..207.7 ….. This is not going down fast enough. It’s a beautiful day today. I hope to get some outside activities in, but because its Friday, I can’t leave the property (hoping for some business in the cabins, but things are still moving s.l.o.w. in Michigan. ) Have a great weekend everyone.
05/02 …..207.2 ….. Okay, a half pound whoosh! I don’t mean to be ungrateful, but I’ve got to get this train rolling under 200 or I’m going to pull my hair out! A beautiful day here (after a morning cloudy rain). I’ll try to do some outside stuff today but I need to stay near my office. Have a great Saturday everyone!
05/03 …..207.5 ….. This is what a glass of 2% milk looks like on me! Plenty of mixed exercise yesterday. Today is cabin cleaning, more yard work and maybe I can even fit in a walk. I would love to do some low carb prep cooking today but I don’t know if I can fit it in. We shall see. Anyway, I am inspired by all the progress I am seeing in so many of you. It really does help keep me on point. Enjoy your Sunday everyone!
05/04 …..205.7 ….. Crazy busy today so not much time to chat but what a wonderful result on the scale today!!!! I worked hard yesterday with diet & exercise. Today, my fitbit is on the fritz, it keeps flashing notifications on/notifications off. I’ve tried the restart fitbit process but it’s not working. It is a fitbit charge 2 (if anyone has any ideas, please post here or email me). In the meantime, I feel like I’ve been running all day but I have no idea of calories burned so I’m a bit sad about that. I’ll do my best to log the exercise with the MFP information.
05/05 …..205.0 ….. Yay! Another drop and another good day. I miss my fitbit. I am hoping to somehow fix it but if not, I’ll get a new one (upgraded). Mixed small spurts of exercise yesterday because I was so busy with other things. I took every opportunity to fit in a little something here & there including cleaning, raking, using my ski machine and even a bit of dancing. Sample song “Jealous” by Nick Jonas..
05/06 …..204.9 ….. I’m feeling really good about my progress these last couple of days, but today is travel day. A long trip back downstate for the carpet I ordered. Restaurants will be involved. I’m taking water, almonds, a piece of 90% cacao dark chocolate. I’m keeping it at one restaurant meal (no soda) and I will not use it for an excuse to binge all night when I get home. I know it will mean starting next round higher, but I will try to keep it at a minimum. I am going to view this as another lesson in control and another chance to prove to myself that I’ve got this, even when there is a bump in the road. Nice round everyone!

Quick check in once I get home from my walk, I'll create our next round, 😞8

@musicsax I just wanted to say that you are not alone and our household is staying away from people, including extended family. I haven't seen my mom or other extended family memebers in months and it sucks so much but we know it's safer not to be out and about. Our entire family hasn't left the house since March (except for early morning walks and we cross the street when someone is walking towards us.). Yesterday was the first day I drove to do a contactless pick-up for our csa. It was so weird being out because it seemed like it was business as usual driving by some of the businesses.
@musicsax @kblanc14 @mrs_sutsie Ditto here. My husband and I have been home the entire time. All shopping has been no-contact and we go to our post office box at 7a in the morning and wear a mask when no one is there. I'm glad our state has asked everyone to where masks when you can't be a distance from one another. Most people are wearing them. I haven't seen my family either even though admittedly it would require a plane, train or hotel stay to get there, which I'm not doing right now. They live near each other though and they too have stayed in and haven't seen each other. However, the state they live in is one of the states on the news where people are all crowded together with no masks and you would never know that we are in the midst of a pandemic.
@SheilaBoneham mentioned too the other day she was hiking or walking and she and her husband were the only ones with masks.
It does seem from reading the comments here that most are staying home when they can and doing their part to keep everyone safe.
I think a lot about those that are still working and can't stay home. Those that are taking care of people in the hospital, or delivering our packages, or working at a warehouse, food processing plant, post office, Amazon, etc. I'm grateful for what they are doing for the rest of us!5 -
@CamandJarvis Yea, it was crazy! I had this "aha!" moment. Granted I didn't dig too deep into it but I have already noticed a difference today after not taking it last night. I was actually full after my first meal today with one of my most active mornings in a while. It really is interesting how each person can react so differently to the same thing.4

@fmfdfa2020 I'm glad to hear other people are being smart too! I work in healthcare (I'm blessed to be working from home right now though) and hear what's going on in the background with Covid. So when I see/hear about people not practicing social distancing or not wearing masks it makes me cringe, because I know it will just make it harder on everyone in the long run.3

@MomLarisa I use the last weight of the previous round because I realized if I happened to have a large drop from day 10 to day 1, I missed recording the loss in any round. That’s also why I started figuring my round Average Weight at the end of each round.4

4/27 119.5 Very surprised because I made a rotisserie chicken yesterday and ate most of the super salty skin. YUM!
4/28 120.5 No problem still well below goal. Six weeks since the governor closed everything
4/29 120.5 Apparently I got caught up in life yesterday and didn’t read the board. Bad experience at Walmart grocery pick up. Girl refused to put on mask, young man (employee) said he was going to “kick your *kitten*” to my husband who was outraged by the girls attitude. Today we are supposed to have a record breaking high for April, 102 degrees!
4/30 119.5 Well, I ate very strangely yesterday. A lot more veggies than usual and an adequate amount of protein. But when I got on the scale this morning it said 109.0 - I haven’t been that light since I was 4’6” in 5th grade! - I knew that was wrong. I got on 3 times and finally got a reasonable weight. May be time for a new battery! TWC app says we hit 100 in our area yesterday but the official temp fell short of the record. Another chance today - it was 82 at 7:30 this morning but it’s cloudy now.
5/1 118.5 73 at 5:35AM Windows and door open
5/2 118.0 I just wasn’t hungry. We had a nice salad for dinner with ham, chicken, cheeses, and eggs. Our daughter and son-in-law #2 remarried yesterday evening. A friend set up a Zoom meeting so friends and family could watch.
5/3 118.0 I seem to have lost interest in food. Could be the lockdown, could be the heat.
5/4 118.0 Different Walmart and very pleasant pick up!
5/5 120.0 I know what caused the bump and it’s fine. I’m really not sure I want to be at 118 and I know at least part of the loss is muscle because I have been doing no exercise since March 17 except lifting the 15.5# cat. I’m also not sure I drank enough water.
5/6 119.5 Well I was posting a note @0803 when I got kicked out by Maintenance. Then when I tried to post a few minutes ago I deleted my entire 3 year journal. Totally deleted! Had to find yesterday’s post to get the current round. Fortunately, I send each round to myself by email so those are safe.
@MomLarisa I go by my day 10 round weight as my starting point because I would have significant losses from one day to the next. That’s also why I started tracking the round Average Weight.3 -
@GrandmaJackie Thank you!1

Day/Weight/Comment
04/27: 179.2 (Yay for a one pound drop on a Monday. Hoping for the weight to start falling off from TOM. I did a workout last night and made a salad for dinner.)
04/28: 177.4 (I’m happy to see this. I had a very tough workout that involved a lot of stationary squats. My body is a bit sore from that workout. I ate to plan and had a good day at work with minimal stress.)
04/29: 176.0 (I made some amazing strawberry cheesecake crepes for dinner last night and I was so nervous I would gain a bit, but I think I’m in some sort of whoosh moment. It fell within my calories but when you’re having something so good that’s “bad” it kinda makes me feel like the scale would go up. Not sure if they makes sense 😅)
04/30: 175.8 (A new low for me! Finally after 7 months! It was making me nervous to step on the scale to see what it was, but my next goal is to reach that 173!)
05/01: 175.2 (An even newer low! I had a relaxing night after my work day ended and my husband FINALLY got his unemployment debit card after filing on March 20th, so the stress from weeks of waiting finally lifted off my shoulders.)
05/02: 177.6
05/03: 180.0
05/04: 180.6 (I was wondering why I was gaining so much. I usually do during the weekend, but not this much. Just looked at my calendar and I’m ovulating tomorrow, so that makes sense. I hope everyone had an amazing weekend!)
05/05: 178.8 (Shocked to see this drop. My guess is that I was ovulating early again, so that’s why the weight is coming off. That would definitely make sense. I ate to plan and did a great workout at home.)
05/06: 177.6 (A good way to end the round! I had a good day yesterday trying to to give in to my cravings and I succeeded. I did a long workout and relaxed the rest of the night.)
Total loss this round: -2.6 pounds
