Okay so pretty much if i count cals it is really triggering (ex-AN)... I think that I am not allowed to eat that much, it takes over my whole life and I end up eating only 1000 or less, but if I don't count them then I just think **** it- noone's gonna see it anyway, and binge!

Should I count them or not?

What does your Therapist say about this?

I think you should get professional help. Recovery is difficult and you need to do it right. Tbh none of us can give you a good answer.

You have to be true to yourself.

I agree with milileitner. It seems like you're really struggling with this, and getting professional help would be good.
    Good luck!

I don't have a ed but I have a weird thing where I feel like I fail if I reach my goal so when my goal was set to 1200 I found I was only eating 800-1000cals a day so someone suggested upping my goal so now its about 1350 and I seem to be reaching 1200 more often (not the last few days but nearer to it). I don't know if thats any help but it helped me.

I hope you find what works for you take care

Edited to say: and like others say talk to your therapist
  • I have the same issue...kind of....I am also ex AN, I will continue to count my calories whilst I am losing weight, I am aiming for a BMI of 20. No less! As soon as I do reach this, I will stop calorie counting using the app...but it will happen in my head as I go anyway!

Are you still wanting to lose weight? What is your BMI. Have a target BMI this will stop you continuing after you have reach your goal. I am like you, I seriously under eat, but the last two days I have been bagging over a 1000 granted its not net as I have been exercising but still....it's high for me!

I am using this app to break my habits and its VERY hard. But I am determined. I am sure you can do it too.

Why don't you make your diary 'friends only'. Then your support network can see (and keep you accountable) what you're doing and encourage you to keep it up. You don't want to go back to where you were back then, but you don't want to binge and ruin all your hard work either.
