5/07/20 - 181.4
I went to a nearby park yesterday for a walk, and holy cow, it was very busy with many groups of 4-8 people on the paths, no masks (except mine), no sense of holding back to allow distancing. I ended up cutting my walk short, getting off the path and onto the grass to get back to my car. I simply don’t get it. I guess I need to get my fanny out very early for walks. On a happier note, I get to pick up a bunch of plants from our Botanical Conservatory’s annual sale this afternoon! Yay!
5/08/20 - 181.6
Now that I have a bunch of new plants to plant, we’re getting a freeze tonight. So the plants are snuggled in for now on top of the washer and dryer. 🌿🌸🌱 We’ve been having some nice conversations. 😁 In the meantime, I have a loaf of cinnamon raisin bread in the oven — the last of my gift list for members of our congregation, although I’m going to bake more bread for friends — the looks on people’s faces when you deliver home baked bread is priceless! 🥖 Plus I love to bake but don’t need the results within snacking distance. It’s a win-win!
5/09/20 - 181.6
Cold night last night, but I covered my tulip buds, and everything else seems to have made it, too. Everything’s coming back to life. Last year this time there was nothing in this bed except the roses and a couple of really hideous shrubs. Now it makes me happy. Have a lovely Saturday, all. Be well.
5/10/20 - 182
Ok, I saw that coming. I went a little nuts last night and snacked in the evening. Emotional eating. But my average over the week is well below maintenance, so this is temporary. Planning a walk if the rain and wind hold off. Maybe a little gardening, too.

I"ve been gone for about two years. Glad to see the 10 day challenge is still here. Took my blood sugar a few days ago and it was well over 300! Gack!! No more fooling around pretending I am PRE-diabetic. I simply MUST at the tender age of 69 start paying attention. So, I'm going to do day/weight/waking blood sugar/walk steps/comment.
Food diary is open. I'm working with delivered food from the community we live in and what we can order from the grocery store.

05/07 120.5 Reaction to carbs. I wasn’t excessive but my body hates them. Only 30 total grams, 26 net but the good news is that those tortilla chips I used to love are really not that good. Amazing how taste changes when you avoid that garbage. Also bloated and my shorts are tight when they were loose a couple of days ago.

High stress day. Most of them are these days. No workout. Diet not good quality but managed to stay under calories. I really enjoyed the feeling of losses last round, Will be working majority of days this round which usually makes it easier to control calories but harder to work out, so we’ll see. Yoga is really helping me with my shoulder mobility. I used to have to stretch a while before I could raise my right arm overhead and now most of the time I can do it without stretching! Feel like my pants are a little looser.
05/08: 237.4.
I find it weird how I can go for several days without a 0.1 pound change in either direction. Jazzercise 20 min. Yoga 35 min. Today is my 15th day of logging, which may be an all time personal record LOL.
05/09: 237.4.
I’ve been eating all the calories MFP allots me including for exercise. I know what it is allowing for exercise is in no way accurate, how could it be. As much as I am enjoying those extra calories it’s not allowing the scale to budge, sa dly. Went a little crazy today eating takeout pizza and eating my feelings. Will probably have a gain tomorrow but I’ll be back on the horse. No workout.

@deepwoodslady HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I hope you have a wonderful day! And Re your comment about it's suppose to be Spring in Michigan for goodness sake. Ditto for Maine. I watched it snow on my tulips yesterday and it was beautiful in a weird sort of way, but I can only say this because it didn't hurt them.6

05/07 : 139.0 (-1.0) I have been hovering around 139 for several weeks now. I know I am eating more carbs etc but I am exercising more too. I still would like to lose 2 but also keep adding more strength work so that might add muscle which weighs more so then its really about how my clothes fit.
05/08: 137.8 (-1.2) No idea why the big drop. Ate ok until the tootsie roll attack. Did walk, strength, and bike so I definitely moved. Good dinner.
05/09: DNW – forgot before I drank coffee etc. and got dressed. Doing a long ride today.
05/10: 139.8 (+2.0) This is laughable. Burned almost a 1000 calories yesterday and did not eat them all back. But the body is a strange chemical reaction. Today is my day. Food and relaxation. Happy Mother’s Day to all!

05/06 …..204.9….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
05/07 …..208.8 ….. Another jump up on the scale from the carbs (restaurant) during yesterday’s business travel. I got the special order of indoor/outdoor carpet picked up for the cabins. It is only available for a very limited time due to Michigan weather so I am thrilled to have gotten it in time and when things are slow enough to have it installed (soon I hope). Even though I am an essential business that supports other essential workers, things have really slowed down. General travel (just for vacation or fun) has been cancelled thru the mandates since March 23. The mandate in Michigan (for the national emergency) is due to expire May 28th, unless extended again. In my area, all summer events have been cancelled. All the money makers and all the things that bring tourists to my community (which will kill my motel business!) However, I do understand that those in my small little town just want to put a wall around it and keep everybody from the cities out. I get it but financially it is difficult. Yesterday in the big city many customers were not wearing masks even though it has been mandated to do so in stores and public places. I would say about 25% had no masks and I was shocked so many of the stores allowed it, including a walmart! It was a very long day. I tried to make a few stops and walk around a bit. My diet was completely off. Today I will be back to normal. Sorry Carbs, Sorry Sodium I will be flushing you away today!
05/08 …..207.2 ….. Goodbye travel bloat! Yesterday had very little movement due to working on electronic downloads and ordering with someone more “expert” than me to help. It was an all-day process. Diet was on point and I was surprised to find no major extra hunger or cravings after a travel day that included extra carbs. That really helped make it much easier to stay on point. Today is more electronic stuff including new downloads to the visa/mc machine which will keep me on the phone awhile for instructions and imputing. I will try to move as much as I can in-between. Snow today in Michigan! Cold & gloomy outside so I will have to pull the ski-machine out again to burn a little. If I can fit in a dance or a Zumba, I will. Have a nice weekend everyone!
05/09 …..204.8 ….. Okay, there goes the rest of the water retention and bloat from the travel. It took two full days, but I’m back to pre-travel weight. I plan on pre-logging food, doing some prep cooking today for the freezer and FINALLY getting some movement back in again, although it will all probably be indoors due to more snow and cold/freezing temps. It’s supposed to be Spring for Goodness Sakes in Michigan! In no way can we plant yet. I can’t WAIT for flowers!
05/10 …..205.2 ….. My 60th Birthday!!!! Happy Birthday to me! So nice that it lands on Mother’s Day this year. A good day yesterday except for the freshly baked banana nut bread my daughter dropped off (wearing her mask of course). We have not been able, still yet, to get flour in our area so this was a nice treat (she had bought in bulk before covid-19). The calories stayed under, the carbs were over but it was worth it. Very moist. So there is an uptick on the scale. Even with my double holiday, I will try to keep it reasonable today. I don’t want to permanently wipe out any progress I am making. Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!

Weight/BF%/Comment:
5/7: 231.2 (-0.8)/19.7 (-0.1). Finally got myself under my calorie goal for the day (after 3-4 days not doing this). I'm not feeling super-hungry during the day, but I'm still finding myself drawn to snacks at night. As long as I'm staying within my calories I'm "okay," but I feel like there's an opportunity here to get used to "eating when I'm hungry" vs. eating because it's the evening, and because it "feels good" in the moment.
5/8: 230.4 (-0.8)/19.6/ (-0.1). I was a little bit tempted not to track a couple of late night snacks last night. I've been REALLY good about tracking for the past week, and that helped me to avoid the temptation of ignoring a couple of small (but bad) snacks. I do better when I'm accountable. I'm trying to remember that. Weigh-ins are information. Tracked food is information. Being accurate about things is helpful and explanatory. Hiding ANYTHING from here is at least a tiny step toward disappearing. I really don't want to do that again. I like the way I look and feel when I'm healthy and fit. I REALLY want to get back to that place, and I want to STAY THERE.
5/9: 231.2 (+0.8)/19.7 (+0.1).
5/10: 230.0 (-1.2)/19.7 (-0.1). I got busy yesterday and did not make the time to post, but I'm still tracking every day and weighing in every day as well. I think I've mentioned that I tend to overestimate my calories every day. Yesterday, by my calculation, I was WAY over, even though I felt like I did "okay" during the day. I ate what I wanted for dinner, and I did not stuff myself, but I THINK I ended up eating a ton. This weigh-in makes no sense to me, so I'm not going to be surprised if I have a weigh-in or two in the next couple of days that is higher than I would have expected. I've also decided, officially, to cut alcohol completely out of my diet on weekdays, and I'm going to limit myself to two drinks per weekend (either one drink per day, or two drinks on one day). At its core, alcohol is just empty calories. I don't need those. I snacked a bit too much even after eating my "big" dinner last night as well. I REALLY need to get the late night snacking under control. I used to "control" it by have a protein shake if I got hungry at night. I am going to try that again.

05/07 - 346.8 - A little tick down. I'm gradually starting to do more with weight/bands and it feels good. I found it feels even better if I stretch or do yoga beforehand. My morning walk is a great warmup, I just gotta keep going.
05/08 - 346.7 - Another little tick down. I like it. I watched a news story about COVID19 starting much earlier than previously thought (late December). Apparently, it was found in Wuhan in early November and in FRANCE in mid-December. I bring this up because in late January, I got a terrible cold and cough I could not shake. Then gave it to my mom. After about 2 weeks, I got concerned enough about my mom that I took her to her doctor. She was given some meds for inflammation and an antibiotic. It took a few days, but she got better. I bring this up because it now seems possible that many of us (up to 20 million) may have had an early version and most of us got over it. Just putting this out there. I'm not letting down my guard, but I'd be pretty happy if we already got thru this and my 82 y.o., breathing-compromised mom got past it, too.
05/09 - 346.5 - And yet another very minor tick down. At least it's not going the other way (LOL). I was watching an old Joe Rogan podcast on YouTube where he sits down with Diamond Dallas Page of DDPYoga. Every time I see him speak and show how he's been able to help those with mobility issues and, to a lesser degree, weight loss, I get motivated to use his product again. Hell, I already pay the $8.99/month, so I may as well get some use out of it.
05/10 - 346.3 - And the little ticks down just keep on keeping on.
