June results - increased my activities by adding desk exercises and walking. changed out snacks for more fresh veggies and fruit. LOTS of shrimp in June. IVF cycle approved and completed. Found out this morning that I am pregnant!
July goals - continue healthy eating, adding small weights to my arm exercises and more walking. Increasing water intake and following my nutritionist's pregnancy guidelines from my previous attempt.

6/30 weight: 177.0
Weekly tracking:

July goals:
Maintain my weight between 173 and 177
Continue to log food daily
Run a half marathon
Continue to run 4x week
Get at least 45 "active" minutes a day
Get at least 10,000 steps
I am grateful for my health. I'm grateful that I still have a job that I love. I'm grateful to my family and the time we get to spend together. I'm grateful for the wrinkly skin around my abdomen and thighs - it's a badge of honor for the fat I've lost. I'm grateful for all the support and collective wisdom of this group and my friends on MFP who have cheered me on through this journey.
I am starting a new chapter with maintenance. While essentially nothing has changed - I still weigh myself, I still log, I still weigh my food, I still have macros and calorie limits - it still feels very much like uncharted territory and I will confess, I am am afraid of failing. I am afraid of getting complacent in my tracking. I am afraid of my own hubris getting in the way of my success. I am afraid that I will injure myself and have to stop running again and that will be my undoing. I have had lots of success in weight loss, but no success in maintaining so far. But I need to remind myself, I have lots of experience with what didn't work. And so I can learn from it and use that to my advantage.

🌸 Cesse - age 72 - Check-In 🌸
308.6 lbs - starting weight on 3/28
295.4 lbs - weighin on 4/30 -- (-13.2 Total Loss to date)
291.2 lbs - weighin on 5/30 -- loss = 4.2 lbs for month of May (17.4 lb Total Loss To Date)
291.2 lbs - weighin on 6/30 -- stayed same for month of July (17.4 lb Total Loss To Date)
Isn't that a kicker!! Stayed the same as weight at end of May. I know I gained in June, probably close to 5 lbs at a guess ... and whatever I gained, I've evidently lost. So, I'll consider staying the same for June to be a win! LOL
July Mini Goal -- 285 lbs - (need to lose 8.2 lbs or approx. 2 lb/week)
First Major Goal = Onederland
Goal Weight = 165 lbs
JULY GOALS ---
(1) Log all food and beverages honestly; Drink 10+ water [week 1 challenge = MEASURE IT!]
(2) Exercise 30 min minimum (3000 steps)
(3) Clean 30 min per day: house or yard or declutter
Met brother Dave for breakfast to get flood recovery update. Then on to the Farmer's Market to pickup locally grown fresh veggies and a couple of fresh caught lake perch steaks for meals this week. Also stopped at Ace Hardware to get new gloves, a new garden hose nozzle, and a bottle of tree stump / tree suckers / nuisance vine killer. So, am very behind in chores. Will come back after lunch to catch up / comment on posts from y'all.
Have a Great Day!! 🌞11 -
@sweetirish OMW that's fantastic!! Congratulations
@speyerj I look forward to cheering you on from the sidelines! This time you will succeed with maintenance, you have your game plan!

Wednesday weigh in and happy July everyone!
Highest weight: 435 (11/1/18)--lost 50 lbs. by the end of 2018 but got off track and gained back almost 31 lbs.
SW: 415.8 (4/17/19)
6/24: 237.0
6/30: 235.6
7/1: 234.8
7/8:
7/15:
7/22:
7/29:
July GW: 228.1
GW: 160 (then reevaluate)
Weekly exercise goals:
- exercise bike 5 times per week - 3/5
- short walking videos or treadmill twice a day 5 times per week - 2/5
- strength training (including core specific exercises) 2 times per week - 2/2
- chair yoga 4 times per week - 3/4
Even though I weighed myself yesterday, I "had" to stick to my routine of "weigh in Wednesday" and somehow I lost a few ounces from yesterday for a new low. At least for today, I've lost 200 pounds from my highest weight! It really doesn't seem possible.
Last week was busy so I didn't do as well with my exercise goals but at least I did get some exercise in. I had a couple trips to my parents for doctor appointments and my daughter was home for a few days. We had a nice visit. We were going to hit one of the bike trails but no bike shops had any bikes for rent this summer. Guess they chose to sell their bikes instead of keeping any for rentals this year. We did go on 3 walks though. I took her on my 3 favorite hiking trails/walking paths around here. My son was able to join us for one of the walks. It felt good to be able to do that with them. In the past, I couldn't walk 100 feet without feeling like I was going to die. Being able to walk for 30 to 50 minutes straight feels like an amazing gift! I just have to keep at it so I can do more difficult trails and go for longer times. There are so many cool trails yet to explore!
I plan to spend some time evaluating my exercise plan either this week or next. July 15 will be a year since I added exercise to my plan to improve my health. I want to think about my goals now that I've made some progress. Things that seemed impossible last year just might be achievable some day!
Thanks @RavenStCloud for starting this thread and thanks to all of you for the daily inspiration and support you provide!9 -

Things I'm grateful for: we just moved to the Hill Country in TX (from Atlanta) and although it's sooo different from the city, I'm really loving it. We're on 3 acres and some of my favorite things are: hanging my laundry on the line, watching the birds (there's a nest of little baby birds actually living in our old truck!), sitting outside and reading the New Yorker and eating frozen grapes while the deer come to visit, and being around my dad.
💜 Thank you for starting this thread. I'm so happy to be here! 💜
The Hill Country in TX is one of the most beautiful places in the country. This is from someone who is really a beach person and who lives in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. We lived in Austin when my husband went back to school in Civil Engineering so for a couple of years we lived on the edge of the Hill Country. Enjoy!
Yes! Beach person here too -- we lived in Santa Monica for 20 years before taking a detour to Atlanta and now Fredericksburg, TX. Coronavirus circumstances precipitated this move but we're going to enjoy it anyway!

All the women in my family have been dieting their whole lives (and so have I - including not just diets but the "lifestyle changes"). It just doesn't seem to work in any long-term way for any of us except for the ones who had weight loss surgery. I'm about to turn 50 and I'm so, so tired of the struggle.
There are lots of reasons to be hopeful. You can do this. Step one: tell yourself, as often as you need to until you believe it, that you are going to stay on track, that you are going to stick with it, that you will be successful in your fitness goals. Starting out is hard. But I can tell you that if you keep at it after a month it gets easier, and the month after, even easier. Just start small. Pick one or two things you can do today that you can commit to doing everyday. Then do it. And I would make one of those things logging your food. Logging your food is very effective. I look forward to watching your progress here.
Thank you

Hello Ladies! 🥰🚴🏾♀️🧘🏾🏖🏝🍊🍓🥑🥕🥒🥬🥝🍌🍒🍑🌝🌞🍣🐓
Name: Linda
Age: 52
SW: 288 (6-1-2018)
CW: 226.2. (7-1-2020)
From mid March to the end of June I have been in a maintenance mindset. With all that was happening and all I knew was going to happen I decided to focus on maintaining my mental/emotional health and maintaining what weight I’d lost up to that mid March point then to my birthday month last month.
We stopped going to our gym on March 18th and have made the transition to bike riding and at home stretch/yoga. I really wanted to give my body time to transition from doing the elliptical machine for 60 minutes five days a week at the gym to bike riding which definitely works different muscle groups. It has been wonderful and so much fun. A friend gave us a Thule bike rack so we can transport our bikes when we want to ride the trails on Jekyll Island (we live on Saint Simons Island). We do between 17-20 miles three times a week! This morning we were just shy of 18 miles!
As with most college students, our daughter was not allowed back in her dorm room at The George Washington University (GWU) in DC due to the pandemic. The school did a really good job of letting the students know ahead of time so she was able to get what she needed but we chose to allow them to pack and store her remaining items for pickup at a later date. She was a senior so we had big graduation plans. GWU graduates on the National Mall each year...not this year😢. But her school, GWU-Elliott School of International Affairs, did an awesome job with the virtual graduation and we got to see her because each student was allowed to submit a PowerPoint slide for the virtual graduation. We had a watch party and it was awesome. Because we care for my 89 MIL and our daughter was still working aN internship for a firm in DC (which could transition into a full time post grad position) we decided she would stay close to DC (in Virginia). Thank God for FaceTime because we have not physically hugged our daughter since December 26, 2019. In addition to her studies she is also a music journalist/blogger so she had three concerts to cover from 12/27/19 to 1/1/20 so she was jet setting a bit😂😂. We were supposed to meet her in New Orleans for her last Spring Break but we had to cancel that. Two weeks after she graduated she was hired by the firm she interned with in DC! We had a virtual celebration dinner! She will be moving back to DC at the end of August to her first home and we will be driving up to help her get her new home set up! Yes, I’ve gone a little crazy on her Bed, Bath and Beyond registry!! She also loves Wayfair!
So my goal for the next 60 days is to get under 220! I’ve just discovered smoothies and upgraded our blender! This blender IS AWESOME!!! I’ve been adding ingredients like “Beyond Green” light matcha powder, chia seeds, oats, Greek yogurt, fruit and almond butter to my smoothies. My husband is just the basics with fruit, soy milk and Dan Active yogurt drink😂😂.
I’ve found another great TJMaxx buy! (last month it was Madwell Jeans..three pair for $5.99 each with a regular price between $110 and $138). This time it is this “Southern Tide” dress!!
Ladies we are all so very fortunate to be on this journey! ONWARD💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽👊🏽👊🏽!!!

AlexandraFindsHerself1971 wrote: »My July weight loss goals are centered around "getting back down to business". Moving has pretty much consumed my thinking for the last couple months, and the stress of it has stalled my weight loss entirely. But this week we are painting and doing some renovations, and hopefully we move on the 6th. Then as I unpack and put things away, I can also get a membership to the local YMCA, which has reopened, and start working out again. In terms of poundage, I just want to see where I wind up when the stress of moving finally abates and go from there.
No fair our Y isn't open yet! Even when it does I don't think they will have aquafit . They will open in Phase 3 with small classes and reservations for them and swimming lanes. All the best with the painting etc.2 -
@ravenstcloud You are so awesome for guiding us each month. I’m so very proud of you! Happy Birthday to you! You are so very correct we have so much to be grateful for!!
@CupcakeCrusoe So many great goals! I’ve just started my new planner (July 2020 to June 2021) and I’m going to start writing down 10 things I’m grateful for!
@pamiede You are amazing! I’m so proud of you! 1,200 calories (or less) a day! You are going to hit your UGW very soon I’m sure! Keep pushing! When you hit your UGW do you have an idea of what your maintenance daily calories will be?
@speyerj Look at you looking all beautiful! I’m so very proud of you! You are an inspiration! I still have a long ways to go but seeing you and @pamiede lets me know that I can do it! I love your post because I’ve said more than once that we need to “witness through our wounds”. Trying to loose weight over the years has been a “wound” for me. Now I “witness” to others by making it an everyday part of my conversation. I look at my stretch marks, “before” photos etc as reminders of where I was. I pray doing this will keep me accountable each and every day.
@chrysaliscove Love your goals! Love it when I close my rings!
@elainey13 I love riding my bike now that we can’t get to the gym. We hit the road three times a week! UnderArmour’s MapMyRide app is awesome! It links to my iPhone Health App..then to the MFP app.
@aliciap0116 You are doing such an awesome job! I’m looking forward to heading to DC in August to see our daughter. That will be our first “vacation”.
@jm2016 Excellent work! Congrats!
@sweetirish Congratulations! So very happy for you!6 -
Congratulations @sweetirish! I use shampoo bottles for some of my weight lifting since my 5 lb weights are too heavy for me. Not sure what the plan is for when I have to start using the shampoo.
@speyerj Congratulations on getting to maintenance! It isn’t as easy as we think but you will do well at it. I do not think many take it seriously. Obviously you are. I hope this is a great month for you.
@MuttiNM Congratulations on reaching the 200 lbs lost mark last month. That is a great accomplishment!
@BrownSugar174 I can’t wait until I am in the sizes where I can get good deals on clothes. You are rockin’ that dress! How fun getting your daughter moved in to a new place.
I am glad I weighed in this morning at my low of last month. That means I do not have to start the month getting back down to my low. I want to work hard today with my goals since starting Thursday I will be shopping for the 4th and Friday cooking ahead for the 4th. We actually have some plans. We have expanded our social bubble to my daughter's boyfriend. We will have him and his uncle over on the 4th. He lives with his uncle so we might as well meet someone who is essentially in our social bubble.
Menu:
1st Course:Tomato Bisque (it only takes 30 minutes)
Main Course:
Lamb burgers (her boyfriend doesn't eat beef and I avoid it, my husband cooks these)
Ceasar salad (prepare ahead except for tossing)
Potato salad (prepare ahead)
Dessert:
Cottage Pudding (an apple cake, bake ahead) with ice cream (Kroger Dark/semi-sweet Chocolate Chip ice cream)
I will use organic ingredients as much as possible for his uncle.7 -
