@UTMom81 What are my American friends planning, food-wise, for your celebration (even if it is a semi-locked down celebration of Freedom)?

Great question! Hope everyone responds! I am going to try one of the recipes I've been collecting from Clean Food Crush. https://cleanfoodcrush.ontraport.com/
This former farm girl usually cooks as healthy as possible, but with no recipe so gets a bit "meat & potato " themed. Actually more minus the potatoe + veggies these days. Anyway, whatever recipe I pick will be a side to a lean meat on the smoker. My goal for the 4th is to stick to my MFP goals. Happy birthday America!

    Goals this round:
    1. Get back to 125 lbs
    2. Drink water
    3. 10K steps
    4. No drinking (create habit for this month)
    5. Control my portions

    06/26 - DNW
    06/27 - DNW
    06/28 - DNW
06/29 - 127.6 lbs - I have been treating this WFH situation as a vacation and it shows. Time to get back on track.
06/30 - 126.5 lbs - Decent start, not enough water, carb heavy, avoided large temptations, no drinking, only 8K steps
07/01 - 126.5 lbs - stuck to healthy eating but was pushed unhealthy snack by family. 14K+ steps, sufficient water, higher on cals but healthy food other than the unplanned snack, no drinking
07/02 - 125.4 lbs - close to cal limits, 8 cups of H2O, 10K Steps, no drinking. Relaxed goals on protein and eating frequently to adapt to one thing at a time.
07/03 - 125 lbs - close to cal limits, 8 cups H2O, 10 K steps, no drinking. Did better on protein and macros

@aFit50 Glad to hear you fasting while working out experiences. I've only done this the last two days, so not enough to share my thoughts yet. I usually IF 16:8, but because of my vacation and gym reopening, I lost another hour or so of the eating window as I don't eat after 7 p.m. Next week, I'm back to working from home (WFH) so I'll need to rework my workout schedule again. I'm thinking a fasted 2.5 mile morning walk and the gym in the evening....hmmm, not sure. 🤔🙂

Glad you asked!! I love making food and taking it to my in-laws. Our new tradition is to sit out in the backyard and visit and eat, keeping a safe distance. They are 77 & 90 and we have never spent so much time in the back yard!!!!
I am grilling turkey burgers, making potato salad and broccoli salad, beans and am excited to make a strawberry slab pie.
What I like best, is I make lots of fun food and I leave a ton of leftovers with them since MIL doesn’t cook much anymore.
    And yes, HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!!!!

    @Shortgirlrunning HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

@UTMom81 nothing fancy for the 4th here. Burgers and dogs on the grill possibly. Or maybe a steak. Salad for me, corn for my midwestern DH.

    6/27 119.5
    6/28 118.5
    6/29 117.5
6/30 118.0 Expected gain. Yesterday I had my first REAL bagel in over a decade. I ate the whole thing which was at least 3 times my daily carb limit.
    7/1 118.0 vertigo
7/2 118.5 had a high carb drink yesterday evening. Our OMAD has crept to 5 or later. Today it will be around 3 so I can go meet my gal pals and DH can go to a meeting. Virtual doctor appointment yesterday was great. My cholesterol has AGAIN improved while eating LCHF. We are both slightly anemic from giving blood donation 2 weeks earlier. Who knew it it could take 2-3 MONTHS to get your hemoglobin back up at our age!?! So adding iron to the pill boxes! He also wants me to take gabapentin to see if it helps my leg (sciatica) and that concerns me because it can cause weight gain.
7/3 117.0 Yesterday we crafted at my daughter’s. I ate dinner at 3 so I wouldn’t be tempted there and forgot to take my iron with dinner so ate a couple of bites of herring when I got home.

@UTMom81 My sister in law is making an angel food cake flag cake, so that will be a nice light, festive, sweet treat. The 6 of us will probably just have hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill.

JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS ~|~ Round 118 (round 50 for me ) I'm in for another round (of course!) – just keep going! Yet again thank you @GrandmaJackie, such a champion particularly in these unprecidented times, helping keep some stability in our lives, for setting up these challenges.

Female age 62 5' 4” - Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and have gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then; I don't want to gain any more, but would like to get back to my goal weight – I'm working at it – it's a permanent way of life !

Goal – get back to 132 for this round.... - aim to get back to & stick with good habits: be mindful of what I eat & drink, keep walking, no binges, really want to keep the 10 days binge free! Keep calm, wash hands, be kind and follow all latest Government guidelines for C-19 virus.

    Day/Weight/Comment
06/26 134.8 – 10.45 miles walked yesterday, good food choices, 657 calories in credit, all macros in green.
06/27 134.8 – 11.33 miles walked yesterday, 429 calories in credit & all other macros in green.
06/28 135.8 – 6.43 miles walked yesterday. Calories over yesterday & sodium too; mussels for lunch !!
06/29 136.4 – 3.87 miles walked yesterday, drove up to DD's to care for 2 year old DGS#1 whilst SIL went to the hospital to sit with DGS#2 and DD came home to have an hour with DGS#1. The baby's condition is unchanged, consultant still believes he is suffering with a genetic condition preventing him from retaining glucose, constant feeding tube down his nose is still in place and poor little chappie is now also suffering with croup :(. He is really in the wars, plan is to move him to specialist children's hospital tomorrow and hopefully conclusive blood results should be in tomorrow to enable a treatment plan to be developed – fingers crossed.
06/30 136 – 12.3 miles walked yesterday, but a binge on chocolate covered peanuts which I just craved all day; no more in the house now! Once again must move on and crack down. Doing afternoon tea for my sisters in the garden – all socially distanced – but will do as lunch and some “goodies” are healthy ones, will get out for a walk this morning beforehand. Managed to change our caravan site booking to be closer both to our DD's house and to the specialist children's hospital where our DGS is being moved to today, it will be less time travelling up to give them support by taking his 2 year old brother for a few hours each day - still can't visit sick DGS due to C-19, hard times all round :(.
07/01 136 – 8.38 miles walked yesterday, still struggling foodwise, what I eat seems so insignificant compared to what my family is enduring!! Must try to get my head together!
07/02 136 – 9.35 miles walked yesterday, food a bit better; logged everything, 291 calories over calories out.
07/03 136 – 4.36 miles only walked yesterday ( drove up to be with DGS#1) hence 390 calories & 126 carbs over, but I'm still logging.
07/04 Away for a week in our caravan (fingers crossed!) first time since before C19 kicked in.

KEEP SAFE EVERYONE :). Keep calm – we're all in this together!
