I'm determined to keep up with this thread this month! I'm here with my Friday weigh in, and July start.
7/3: 208.4
July GW: 203
UGW: 170
Got my yoga in this morning and feeling good. My mother in law left some shakeology at my house a few weeks ago and I've been enjoying the shakes for breakfast. I cant afford to actually buy it (and I hate MLM stuff anyway), but I find them quite delicious when left for me as a gift.
Feeling inspired with the start of a new month.7 -
@shorepine - Have you tried Premier Protein? It tastes really good. 30 g of protein with only 160 calories. I'm partial to the Peach or Banana, blended with frozen fruit or Banana blended with ice, PB fit, cocoa powder and stevia. Honestly, I never thought I'd be the sort of person who loved protein shakes, but these are really good! I also use them as my recovery fuel after long runs.5
-
@speyerj I haven't! Thanks for the suggestion. I really enjoy protein shakes sometimes, too. I'd love a more affordable choice, I'll check it out. I enjoy mine with almond milk and frozen blueberries or a banana! So good. I like them after I workout, too. I think the extra protein keeps me from snacking.3

They sell them at Costco in cases, but also at Winco in 4 packs. Not too pricey. And they are liquid drinks so its more convenient. No need to blend with anything if you don't want to.3

July goal: 200lbS
I finally broke through the plateau! All of June I hovered between 204 and 205, but I changed to once-a-week weigh-ins, and this morning the scale said between 200 and 201! I even weighed myself 2 days ago on a lark and it said 205! I definitely prefer weighing myself once a week rather than daily: it reduced my stress level so much not dealing with daily fluctuations. I also lost another inch, making my body fat fall to 42.8%. Still a ways to go, but I'm wo happy to be seeing progress!
I recently took the somatotype quiz and found out I'm an endomorph, so I'm playing with my macros, increasing protein and decreasing carbs. I'm definitely carb sensitive, so it makes sense. The problem I'm having is trying to balance out the fat: I keep going over! I haven't eaten much meat over the last year, so I'm not exactly sure how to fit it into my diet appropriately. Maybe I need to start incorporating more tofu, or low-fat milk products rather than whole (my baby is almost 2, so WIC will change her to 2% in August).
Changing to high protein is good for this month: my 13 year old son will be visiting for 2 weeks, and he's used to a more meat-heavy diet than we are. I figured I can increase my plant carbs when I hit maintenance level.
I've had to pull back on the intense Leslie Sansone workouts because of the osteoarthritis in my knee, so I'm doing 1 mile videos 3 days a week, working my arms (with cans of chickpeas😂) on opposite days, and walking with the stroller almost a mile every day. I'm seeing less stress on my knee from the change.
All in all, I'm excited about July! I hope you all are, too!❤❤❤11 -
Hubby and I got to Lowe’s early this morning to get mulch! It is finally on sale (was $3.68 a bag but now it’s $2 a bag). First load: 22 bags!
Went back for the second load and learned that the last of the kind we wanted was on a pallet and Lowe’s was selling that pallet for $10🤯! The pallet had 16 bags on it which we’re partially ripped but we’re good otherwise!
We spread those 16 bags then hopped on our bikes for our Friday ride🚴🏾♀️🚴🏾♀️
Now it’s time for a shower and “Hamilton” on Disney+

hi, i’m jess
i’m 16
SW: 214.4lbs (5/2/20)
CW: 205
I started this two months ago and then June i let it slip, i was down to 201.7 and i was very happy. I’m going to try and restart this month and just keep going despite me having camp where i can’t log my calories because i don’t know the brand of food and they collect the counselors phones so i’ll have no access.
i’ll be getting another surgery (knee) september 2nd and i saw how much weight i gained after the first surgery so my goal for this month is to just stay active and conscious of what i eat since it’ll be hard to track and to lose the weight so the surgery will be easier to recover from (less weight on knee).
my goal for july is to simply get into the 100’s which will be amazing. i know that’s five pounds which i am beyond capable of but once i hit the 100’s i think it’ll motivate me even more and hopefully this will be successful.
in addition i wouldn’t post updates weekly if i didn’t like what the scale said so i’m gonna start doing thats bc it’s the only correct thing to do.
so excited to join this group for the month of july since when i did it in May it helped!9 -

I've gotten my 10k steps in and lifted weights on schedule every day this month so far, and I feel way better. The scale didn't move, but it did wiggle on 184.8, so I think I'll get a whoosh sometime soon. Probably mid TOM.
Got in about 6k steps this morning before breakfast, take a look:
BLT breakfast salad with soft-boiled eggs, and cold brew with almond milk. 🤤
Have a good day and a great weekend everyone!
I LOVE breakfast salad too!3 -
These Texas summers are no joke! We just did yard work for about 35 minutes and I feel like I want to die. @brownsugar - I had a visceral reaction to your photo since we were spreading mulch as well! So. Much. Mulch.
This was after I did my outdoor workout, so I was super tired already! For my outdoor workout, I've started bringing a set of rings to a little park behind the HEB (I think there's some other Texas folks in this group so yaaaay HEB). There's always a weird moment of people staring at me when I hang them like I'm going to do something amazing but I just do a simple suspension training workout mixed up with running / walking laps around the park. As a side note, I LOVE rings! I was super intimidated by them but they're actually just like TRX bands except they cost $30 instead of $200 .
I'm really glad I committed to focusing on exercise instead of the scale this month. I find myself wanting to do more and move more and be outside more and try new things. Yesterday my husband and I got up early before the heat, made a thermos of coffee and went fishing! We didn't catch anything but it was a lovely way to start the day.
Hope you all have a safe and wonderful 4th of July!

@wanderinglight Such an excellent day you have had! So proud of you and I love the mug! In the morning I make a cup of coffee and put it in the frig for ice coffee in the afternoon. I would love to fish/crab but there are too many people on the pier right now. If we could find a fishing hole of the beaten path that would be great. We shall see😊4

@CupcakeCrusoe Oh!My! Gosh! Hamilton was awesome! You will love it!5

@planktonbye I’m really honored that she is allowing to me be a part of the process. She created a shareable “notes” document which allows me to see the apartments and furniture she likes. I can give her a kudos/suggestions on things she’s chosen. Partnering with her has been really good for keeping us connected even though we haven’t seen her since December🥰.5

Weighing early this week with the holiday. I got on the scale this morning, and then ate a big lunch of Mexican food, so this morning's weight it is!

I have struggled quite a bit in the last 10-12 yrs with my weight. I have had 3 children (C-Section) as well as have a hypothyroid. I start eating clean and drinking water and within a couple of weeks, I become discouraged. I am so scared that I will do something wrong that I give up. There are so many diets out there and so many that say if you eat too much or wrong Macros or calories you can gain and others that say if you eat too little your body will fight to keep the stored fat. I am hoping by joining this group I can get some great tips from many, as well as recipes. I want to stay on track. Every time I begin and quit again I always kick myself in the behind because I know if I would have stuck with it, I would weigh less. Just looking for support and accountability. I would like to end this cycle. I am happy to help others do the same if I am able.9 -
So excited this morning! My Saturday morning weigh in!

@nickibeard3 I've been fighting my weight half my life, so I get it. I know I will make mistakes, dietwise. I have a vision in my mind of what I look like in my old age, and I'm trying to make that vision match my reality (except for the old part ) It's okay to mess up and it doesn't have to mean you quit the race. Welcome to the group!5
