My goal weight is 140lbs. I am 5'8.5", it would be 135 but I put on muscle really easily (and fat), so in the months it's going to take me to get there I expect to get that much in gainz. I'm 8lbs of this quarantine fat down! But I'm also 24 and I like distance running: I want to protect my knees as much as possible by being lighter. My highest weight a few years ago was 98kg/216lbs, I would rather be dead than gain that much fat again. I haven't weighed my goal weight in 11 years.

I am just a little over 5’9. My goal is to get to 165 and see how I feel and look. I spent most of my adult life in the 150-170 range and size 6-8 looks good on me. My current weight is 196 and I am a size 12.
That's so interesting, because at that 196 weight (im a little under 5'9"), I wear a US size 16, and at 165 I wear a 10. And I would say that my fat distribution is enviable because it's very uniform and accentuates my hourglass figure. Do you have big bones?

I can see this thread has been going for a while, so may not be so relevant anymore but... I'm 1.72m which I believe is about 5'8 and I reached my goal weight 3y ago, I lost 3 stone. I'm currently 59.5kg which is about 132lbs. I did this by cutting out all processed food, sugar and staying relative low carb. I row 3-4 times a week, anything from HIIT sessions to long distance low rate sessions to maintain fitness and "fat burn" zone workouts. I walk daily, about 5k-8k. Nothing is ever easy, you have to be committed to adhere to healthy living 24/7. I don't say I never diverge from healthy foods etc, just pick my treats carefully. Reading Zoe Harcombe'S book: "stop counting calories and start losing weight" was my turning point.
I would agree, granted I've only lost 8lbs thus far (sustainable loss it's not water weight), but I would say I've been on the MFP app before and super obsessed with my calories, When really I just needed to embrace struggling through being hungry, and make sure I eat enough calories to make sure I don't get to a point where the hunger overrides my willpower. That one is tricky. I have to eat ~1800 cals to lose weight right now. I really look forward to having that high level of fitness where you're at! I think the actual hardest part is sleep. I've noticed that my weight plateaus if I'm not getting enough quality sleep. Do you still track daily or do you do intuitive eating?

I’m 5’10” and started at 220. Today I’m 178.8. I try not to think about an end goal weight. My goal is always one pound less than what I weigh.

A few years ago a tried to lose weight and was fixated on reaching 145 lbs. My weight wasn’t dropping as fast as I thought it should and the goal seemed so far away it was unattainable that I kept self-sabotaging.

This time around I’m focussing on the process - eating and exercising in a healthy sustainable way

I'm 5'9" according to my doctor (LOL) I used to be 5'10 :-(. My starting weight is 205 and I just began trying to lose this weight. My goal is to get out of the overweight category first and foremost, which seems to be about 165. Once I'm there, I will see how I feel!

I am 5'9" at my heaviest I was 196 wearing a size 12 comfortably. I exercise a lot maybe that played a role I dont know. But I am 176 wearing a comfortable size 10. I lift weights so I lost a lot of inches. I would like to get my weight to maybe around 165.

56 yrs 217 lbs 5'8" no kids distant (college) history sprint length triathlons (weight then 135). Started at about 265 lbs (gained after various health issues prevented exercise and messed up metabolism).

Short term goal is 195 lbs by January 15 2021.

Tentative long term goal is 160 lbs (time indeterminate). However I plan to re-evaluate this based on fat content at that weight, aiming for 20-21%. So my actual *weight* target may change; as I near my goal I plan to switch to body composition targets.

My weight loss objective is 30 lb increments with 3 month maintenance at each waypoint to give skin a chance to catch up (I hope! Seems to be working so far, now 10 lbs into my second increment). But this will be my last 30 lb increment--below 200 lbs I will use 20 lb increments. If body composition says I should go below 150 lbs I'll use a 15 lb increment.

My GW is 165 for my 5'9 frame; 160 would be ideal for healthy BMI..CW is 240; yah; got some work to do.

Wow! You must be REALLY fit! That's awesome. I can't wait to get back to lifting when the gyms open up again; the pushups are wreaking havoc on my shoulder. I find it so interesting that at the same height there's a radical size difference, this thread is pretty cool for that.

Hey everyone. I would love to know what all your goal weights are. If you have met them please tell me how. I would love pics to. I used to be in shape running 4-6 miles everyday. Then I got married and had 3 kids. Time for me now.

    27
    5'9
    216.9lbs

My current goal is to get under 200 then in increments of 20lbs until I get to 140.

    Thanks!!!

i'm 5'10 - 150 is good for me. i did get down to 140 and people offered me food and said i was too skinny. so 150 and then i'll revaluate.

At 64 and 5'9" with a smaller frame, I weigh 146 and have been stuck at this weight for months now. I walk every day at least 4 miles and would really like to get down to 140. I've been up to 170 and that put me in a size 14. That was my line in the sand. I'm now in a size 8 jeans which is fine by me. I'd just like to have less body fat and more muscle.

I am 5'9 as well. I would love to get back to 170. When I got there before everyone told me I didn't need to lose anymore weight.
    Starting weight 244.6- 8/2019
    Current weight 221.2
My mini goals are to make it to 215, then get under 200 pounds.
Once I reach 170 we will see if I need to lose anymore weight.

I'm 5'9 and my goal right now is 200, and if I'm still not the size I want to be, 170-180. Not really interested in being skinny, I just want to go to any store and fit into a large. I'm currently 234, my highest was 278.

I am 5' 9" and now 140 at age 69. I have been as high as 201when on nerve medication and low as 126 before cancer surgery. My favorite was most of my life at 155 and the extra was on butt and boobs, sadly lost in translation hahaha! Now any extra goes to below waist fat roll so I keep at 140.

I seem to have hit a plateau at just under 180lbs (around 81kg). Hoping to get properly below 180lb and 80kg soon!
