R119 - Lost 2.9# - 172.6
R120 GOAL: 169.9 Need to dip my toe into the 160's!
IF: 16:8
07/16: 173.2
07/17: 174.4 If my goal was to gradually gain everyday, I'd be on target. Not being able to track food/exercise due to visitation and funeral the last couple days makes the difference. Back to normal today, if normal is even a thing anymore.
07/18: 173.6 Heading back to the gym after a week off. Glad I kept walking outside, but expect a slight increase in water retention for swole tomorrow if I Iift late in the day. Still right for the long run--no pun intended!
07/19: 172.8 Good sore today. Donating blood at noon. Sleevin' Up!
07/20: 170.8 It's true--"a pint IS a pound the world around!" Ate extra of things I normally wouldn't to build back my blood. (Within my MFP calorie limit of course) Really enjoyed a serving of red-skinned potatoes topped with steamed broccoli and an extra serving of the hub's chicken from the smoker. Walked prior to donation and only a short walk in the evening.
07/21: 170.7 Walked 3 miles in the heat; uphill both ways (lol); grateful to make it back to my door--and my fitbit did not automatically sync to show my calories earned--and didn't sync all day! So disappointing, not that I eat them back anyway but I just like to smell them.:)
07/22: 170.7 Three days with the "0" = YAY! Clearly a plateau in the works though. I'm going to do my own version of the "Naked and Afraid" program. Think I will call it "Fluffy and Staid". (Dictionary.com had a few definitions for staid, so I selected "serious-minded"!) My goal is so close I can taste it--who's with me? Let's push!
07/23: 170.5 Never worked so hard for 2 oz in my life. Still fluffy; Still staid! Doing it all again today!
07/24: 170.9 Think the old bod is on to the walking every day routine. Today is a back to the gym day. That will shake the fluff up! Still hopeful to dip the toe into the 160's this round, but there is always next round thanks to @GrandmaJackie !
07/25: 171.3 earned the uptick with a great outing with the hubs. Happy with every extra oz today and happy with my overall loss of 1.9 pounds loss this round. See you on the next page!5 -

Day/Weight/Comment
07/16 - 168.01378 cals Sticking with my plan. Yesterday...stress and skipped my cardio I only lifted
weights. I will make up the cardio as it was optional today!
07/17- 168.21574 cals Weight seems to be fluctuating through day. I was lazy with cardio and diet.
although I won't complain because I haven't skipped a day of working out yet!
07/18- 167.81677 cals I guess I'm struggling with my calories today although I did complete a
short 30 minute walk on treadmill. Gonna exercise tonight and try and do better
with diet!
07/19 - 167.81324 cals I would like to be more consistent and weigh myself in the morning. I will workout this evening and try and be strict with my calories today. I am glad that at least I didn't gain
07/20 - 168.21405 cals Morning weigh-in, last night more cardio and lifting stuck to diet. I will try and stick to diet and exercise today. Hoping it is water weight or added muscle and burned fat?
07/21- 167.01619 cals Cardio day... 1hr last night. At least I weigh less than yesterday now let's stay on track with calories and exercise...I believe I can achieve!
07/22- 168.02088 cals I guess my weight is going back up again! I was hoping to lose more than a lb as long as this troublesome pound stays gone! I mostly did legs in the gym today and my gym buddy never showed! Oh, well just hope I learn a bit of self-disciplene through this experience if nothing else.
07/23- 168.6 1546 cals I did 60 min of cardio and although the inches are coming off the pounds seem to cling on to me. I can't seem to lose a pound and keep it off. My weight is also seriously fluctuating during the day. Trying to be more strict w my calories...it's a struggle!
07/24 - 167.0 1547 cal Wow! Staying true on my food diary and the extra cardio did the trick! Sooo close!
07/25 -166.0 I reached my goal! I didn't think I would! I did chest yesterday and a bit of shopping. Ate healthy..and voila! So proud of myself!
Good job to everyone this round who made the effort! I am proud of you all! HUGS!6 -

07/16 181.2 Boo. When will I start dropping real weight again?
07/17 180.4 Ok, this is better. All week I’ve been on track for food and getting my walks and weights in. Now need to keep on track over the weekend. The weekend backtracking has been self-defeating.
07/18 179.2 Wow, awesome.
07/19 180.4 Not surprising; I ate extra as I’m on clear liquid diet today (Medical check tomorrow).
07/20 Doesn’t Count
07/21 179.4 Thought maybe I’d retain a bit more of the procedure loss, but that’s ok. Happy Scale is under 180 even for the averages, so I’m happy!
07/22 179.2 Still in the 17X decade! Sticking to my calorie targets and keeping the exercise. Went a bit easier with the weights yesterday (2 sets, not 4) but otherwise on point.
07/23 179.8 Was expecting a little more off, but still 17X, I’ll take it.
07/24 179.8 Same actions as yesterday (green for calories, good for exercise) same results. But at least it’s not higher!
07/25 179.8 Hoped for more, but still 17X so I’ll take it.

07/20: 236.8 (-1.6)/20.3 (-0.2)
07/21: 235.8 (-1.0)/20.2 (-0.1). Here I go again! Life has been rough. I'm really trying to get out of my current job... let's call it an "unsafe work environment." I'm just trying to hang on until something pops up, and I'm a little bit scared that it's not going to happen in time. That being said, I AM SICK OF BEING FAT. So here I am, coming back to the place that has always seemed to work for me in the past. The great news is that my wife is not only on-board with the idea of me getting fit/healthy, but she is actually joining me on the journey. There are always negotiations that need to take place; she wants to define her exceptions and "cheat days" before she gets into any routine, and I am much more about jumping in and figuring out those things as they come. Honestly, I don't believe that you need to "plan" cheat days; they happen ALL THE TIME. Anyways, I'll be around consistently for the foreseeable future. I've been struggling to do this, but something is different this time.
07/22: 235.2 (-0.6)/20.2 (0.0). Two days in a row... I feel like I'm in AA! I decided to take the rest of the week off from work to rest and recharge, and also to get used to my body deciding that it's not happy with the idea that I'm clearing house and making changes. I don't really care what my body's opinion is at this point; this needs to happen. I know I'm going to be saying this over and over again, but THANK YOU all for being here, and being so supportive. It feels great every time I'm here, and... man, there's really nothing left to say. It doesn't make any sense that I would ever stop posting/reading here, and I'm finished with "not making sense" at this point in my life.
07/23: 233.6 (-1.6)/20.0 (-0.2). I try not to get too excited when I step on the scale, but today felt good. My back is HURTING today (lower and mid... very weird), just as it did yesterday. But I haven't let pain sidetrack me, which is a good thing. My wife finally jumped on the scale this morning for the first time since we started, and noticed that she's already lost 2 lbs. I know my weight loss is a bit exaggerated at this point because it's the beginning, but I'll take it. I'm going to try to find a way to get a little bit of activity in today, in hopes that it might have a positive effect on my back.
07/24: 233.6 (0.0)/20.0 (0.0). Back spasms yesterday. Too painful to post.
07/25: 233.6 (0.0)/20.0 (0.0). Ended the round on a 3-day plateau, but I'll take it. My back is still sore, but it's feeling better. I'm hoping I'll feel good enough to exercise next week.

Day/Weight/Comment
07/16 - 327.8
07/17 - 329.7 - doing alt. day intermittent fasting means I'll have an uptick in weight every other day. I expect it and am prepared. I'm so prepared that if I lose too much too quickly, I'll change from a 4:3 to a 5:2 fasting pattern. But so far, so very good.
07/18 - 326.8 - As expected, down a pound from 2 days ago. Since July 6th, down almost 14 lbs. Alt. day IF really has kickstarted my losses after being stuck on a plateau for almost 7 weeks.
07/19 - 329.3 - Right where I expected to be. With 4:3 fasting, my weight should be slightly up after the weekend, then back down after the fasting days. Instead of measuring on a day-to-day basis, a better measure for me will be on a week-to-week basis.
07/20 - 329.9 - And another slight uptick after 2 days of eating. Not a problem, since last Monday I weighed in at 332.5. As long as I keep my weight around the 2 lb. loss per week mark, I'm happy.
07/21 - 328.5 - Down about 3 lbs. from previous week.
07/22 - 328.4 - I wish it were a bit more, but this is one day after eating. If I'm under tomorrow what I weighed on the 16th (one week ago), I'll be quite happy.
07/23 - 326.2 - There we go. After a full 40+ hours of fasting, the drop starts again.
07/24 - 328.3 - a 2 lb. uptick from yesterday, since that was an *eat* day. But down 1.4 from the previous week.
07/25 - 323.6 - Bingo, made it. My damned scale wasn't sitting flush on the floor. Every time I checked my weight this morning it kept going up... even though I didn't eat or drink AND urinated multiple times. I knew something was wrong, but it was driving me crazy. At the end of a fasting period (mine was 43 hours), I know I'm in ketosis and autophagy, so my weight MUST be doing down.

07/17 161.6 Nice walk today. 11,938 steps
07/18 162.2 I expected a little rise in weight since we had really salty Indian food last night. I'll drink a lot of water today and go for another long walk.
07/19 162.2 I cleaned outside windows. Holy moly that's tough. Then we watched Saving Mr. Banks, so we needed to have English tea. You know - with cream and sugar.
07/20 163.2 Workout at 12:30 (339 calorie burn) and cleaning. I don't know what's left to clean, but I'll find something. Then I need to meal prep because I don't trust myself any more.

07/21 162.2 Walked today before my class. I'll walk again afterwards. I did meal prep yesterday, so I'm all set for today.

Height: 5’9”
Age: 31
Round Start: 136.7
Round Goal: 135.0
Final Goal: 130.0
07/16 - 136.3
07/17 - 135.7
07/18 - 135.2 | Losing weight much quicker than I expected, maybe being too strict on calories? Feeling super tired pretty much all the time, but I also have a newborn child, so I was previously just chalking it up to that.
07/19 - 134.7 | Even consumed a decent number of calories yesterday, still came down more than expected. Also not drinking a ton of water, so that might be part of it.
07/20 - 136.2 | Yeah, I think the lack of water the last few days was a mirage. Gonna get back on track!
07/21 - 134.7 | I guess yesterday was a weird blip. Back down to the weight from the day before. Made the famous low calorie protein powder cheesecake from the recipe section of these forums. While not particularly delicious, it is surprisingly filling for the calorie count (mine, with blueberries, is ~200 calories per serving). Eating that for breakfast around 8:00am has (so far) kept me from wanting a morning snack until lunch comes.
07/22 - 134.3
07/23 - 134.0 | Was terribly tired/starving yesterday afternoon, so I'm glad the scale threw me a tiny bone for my troubles. Actually not 100% sure my scale was properly calibrated when I started this thing, but I think it is now, so we'll see what kind of pace I'm on in the next round.
07/24 - 134.0 | Forgot to weigh myself first thing in the morning, so not exactly an apples-to-apples comparison with the other days, but at least it didn't go up.
07/25 - 132.9 | Seems too low, guessing it's just a blip, we'll see tomorrow. I'm consuming ~1,500 calories a day, and get less than 10k steps a day, so I really shouldn't be coming down this much. Then again I feel like my muscles barely work some days and I'm not exactly working out much, so maybe I should take it easier next round!4 -

I'm just too danged cussed to let this thing knock me back, and ruin all the effort I have put in to get here. I am stepping up my routine, and taking control. Sheltering in place means I can fully concentrate on getting in my exercise, and preparing healthy food.
July: focus is on improving stamina, strength, flexibility, which may impact the scale
Aims:
- 2020: Goal is to stabilise weight around 145
- Strengthen strategies to reframe the tendency to use unhealthy snack food as a reward/treat.
- Make sure I have prepared healthy snacks available
- Cut down on eating between meals by keeping busy

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

07/16 145.4 lbs 1,872 Calories 45 Carbs, 26 Net Carbs and No Exercise today. Just one of those days with no motivation. Made a Keto dessert but I ate to much of it. I will try to get back on track tomorrow.
07/17 146.0 lbs. ⬆️ I have to get my eating under Control again. One thing I don’t talk about much. But in the past I was/ am a binge eater!! It’s a bad habit I have and it still shows up just when I think I have it under control. One good thing is that I’m eating health food not just Junk!! 1,112 Calories, 65 Carbs, 44 Net Carbs , 5,887 steps and 30 minutes aerobics! Carbs are high but I had Green Beans from the garden and they were worth the Carbs.
07/18 145 lbs ⬇️ 1,411 Calories, 41 Carbs, 33 Net Carbs and 5,517 steps. Sweet corn is just starting to be ready and we had some for lunch. I know it’s not low carb but that’s OK.
07/19 144.2 lbs 1,243 Calories, 35 Carbs, 14 Net Carbs and 6,443 steps. It’s Sunday and our 1st time back to church since March 12th and we closed down. Wearing mask and social distancing!!
07/20 144.2 lbs 1,428 Calories, 66 Carbs, 45 Net Carbs and 7,653 steps. Evening stacking is killing my Carbs!
07/21 144.4 lbs 1,469 Calories, 75 Carbs, 68 Net Carbs and 8,245 steps. Today it was the sweet corn out of our garden that was high on carbs.
07/22 145.2 lbs 1,231 Calories, 47 Carbs, 28 Net Carbs and 5,324 steps. Spent the day running 2 of my granddaughters around. From ball practice to orthodontist and then to softball game.
07/23 145.2 lbs 1,106 Calories, 29 Carbs, 15 Net Carbs and 4,323 steps. I put up 32 quarts of sweet corn into the freezer. Kept me busy today.
07/24 144.6 lbs 1,246 Calories, 55 Carbs, 48 Net Carbs , 5,887 steps and 30 minutes water aerobics. Carbs are higher due to all the veggies from the garden. My husband is eating all the new potatoes I’m able to leave them alone!
07/25 144.4 lbs 1,073 Calories, 55 Carbs, 38 Net Carbs, and 9,360 steps ⬇️ 1.0 lbs for this 10 days. It would be nice to stay below 145 lbs. On to the next 10 days Thank You Everyone for posting on this Challenge. Reading these help me stay Motivated!!

You didn't miss it on 7/24, I didn't actually post it on that day, but caught up the following one.
Update is his condition continues to deteriorate , not yet at level where he is on the transplant list, but is very close, consultants are meeting with his parents this pm to explain what happens when he gets to the stage where he needs the gift of a new liver so it is not far away unless that much needed miracle materialises. I shall volunteer to be a living donor; I have researched this and know my age is against me, but I tick all the other boxes and hope that as I am extremely lucky to be particularly healthy and fit for my age will offset that number and that when they start testing me I am compatible - they prefer not to use parents of young children which rules out his parents. He really needs that miracle !!5 -
