As you hopefully have noticed, we recently launched a Net Carbs feature for those who want to track their Net Carbs.

If you have been using this feature, we'd love to hear your thoughts on what you like about it, what you dislike about it, what you would like to see us add, etc...

Please use this thread for discussion for people who are actually using this feature - off topic posts will be removed.

I like it -- it's a ton of help, and keeps me focused where I should be. The diary page still has fiber content, so total carbs is available if for some strange reason I need it.

Net carbs are what it's all about, and I really appreciate the feature.

Is this only available in the premium / paid version? I remember seeing the banner and that was my take away

I would love to use this feature but seems to only be available to premium subscribers. In times of Covid and spouse unemployed the annual price of $80 is just too steep. I paid $29.99 for Carb Manager app. I just wish that I could count carbs in MFP, but $80 is just too much nowadays. Thank you.

Net Carbs is great info to see your healthy progress in a new trend measurements. After many weeks of working on total carb limits...I am now cotronling my food intake and feeling better, more healthy with some weight loss. Now, I am becoming more active and exercising more regularly. Net Carbs values indicate the progress I making overall to get more healthy.

I just came back to MFP after trying (and not liking) Carb Manager and happened to notice this feature. It has been immensely helpful, and I’m back to tracking and losing again. Like KB said above, total carbs are available by clicking on the nutrition tab at the bottom and looking at fiber content.

The only think I’m not sure about is how MFP counts sugar alcohols toward net carbs. For now I just don’t track them.

If you’re referring to the values for certain nutrients like carbs, fat, protein in our Daily Journal when I put my phone sideways... i would say I wish the HEADINGS would freeze so I can see the values for all the meals with the headings. ay386bg73dkq.png

Or are you referring to the carbs, protein, fat for each meal? k8kytylz156k.png

I paid for premium for this feature but after logging a request for help have been told its only available in the US and Canada. What the actual? Im obviously super shitted off about it. We dont count fibre under carbs in Australia. “Net carbs” is a necessary US invention to deal with USDA convention. Im struggling to understand what is so hard about implementing complex carbs + sugars - dietary fibre.

It would be great if this feature could be used for specific days I follow a carb cycling plan and on my low carb days I am allowed to track net carbs on regular carb days I am not. It would be great if this feature could be clicked on or off in the diary on the specific day

I use Net Carbs a lot less than I'd like because I have to navigate all the way through setting to change to it. I'd like to be able to track both Carbs and Net Carbs, or at least switch between them more easily! I use the iPhone app almost exclusively. (I literally opened my laptop in order to write this!)

Ideal = Carbs (Net Carbs), Fat, Protein

It is very helpful, but I also would like the option to factor out sugar alcohols. Without the net carb feature it was still possible to see and subtract fiber, but subtracting sugar alcohols was and is a huge pain (if you don't count them).

I find a lot of foods are missing sugar alcohol and there's no way to edit numbers.
