Journey Start: 4/20/2020 155.8 lbs
Journey Goal: 140 lbs
Day/Weight/Comment
10/14 140.8 Unfortunately this 3lb drop in one day is from inflammation issues in my digestive track the past 2 days. I'm on broth, water, tea until it feels better. Today the pain is less so I can finally walk upright.
10/15 140.8 Hoping for a good day so I can reintroduce some veggies tomorrow. Have a good day everyone!
10/16 140.4 Added plain buttered spaghetti and sprite yesterday. My energy is up. Trying some Greek yogurt today and a walk to get some sunshine.
10/17 140.4
10/18 141.8
10/19 141.6
10/20 141 I'm feeling better and back to normal solid foods. 😊
10/21
10/22 140.6
10/23 139.6 What what!!! Met my GOAL set back in April!!! 😍🎁🎉🎓🗻✅💯 So the journey continues to maintenance...just in time for winter and holidays 😂5 -
@CamandJarvis - really feeling for you and your little godson, sending lots of positive vibes and hoping that he gets the new liver he needs, especially going through it with my baby DGS just a few months ago. Medical knowledge and procedures are so amazing these days! Do you know that you can be a live liver donor? I was so humbled that all my family stepped forward and volunteered, (they wouldn't accept me as I'm too old - I was devastated!) A perfect match was found in our niece's husband, but a liver from another source suddleny became available before that procedure went ahead. But maybe it's something that family and friends might be able to consider depending on how medically urgent the need is, I know from our families experience when time is not on the patient's side then needs become very urgent. Please keep us updated with his progress, he will be very high in my thoughts .
Yes! I've actually researched what it takes to be a live donor. When they return, I plan to ask them if they're interested in that process and willing to allow any of us to be tested to see if we are a match. I would 1000000000% be willing. The hardest part is that about half of their appointments they can only have 1 parent in there with him because COVID and he becomes really fussy and inconsolable. At one point during a blood draw Wednesday, it was only mama in there (mama's boy to the max) and they blew 2 veins. Docs had dad come in with mama and blood draw was completed immediately after. Its amazing what having both parents in there with him can do (and I'm sure the same applies with other children, as well). Wish they were more understanding of that (I know COVID makes it difficult, but you're putting the poor boy at more risk with him screaming and thrashing to get to the other parent who was asked to leave). I hope when the transplant itself happens, mama and daddy can both be with him - for their sake and his.
Thank you for the thoughts and prayers. Its so nerve-wracking as I'm sure you completely understand. That's my little boyfriend, as we call him. If he's not with mama, he's attached to my hip. Never wanted kids of my own, but I'd be willing to take him on any day of the week1 -

Oh my goodness! I have an Irish cookbook with a Potato Leek Soup recipe that is a favorite with my family. I might have to plan for a cooler evening when I'm not busy to make for my Texas family. It takes about 6hrs in the kitchen to get it right, but oh so worth it1 -

10/13 …..208.6….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
10/14 …..209.2 ….. After travel weight so I’ll take it. Good luck everyone this round. Welcome to all the newbies, we are thrilled that you have joined us!
10/15 …..208.4 ….. I shed that travel weight quickly with some pretty good choices at home yesterday. Today is a WONDERFUL day for me. I have been going through some very tough things here at home and work and today a wee piece of it is getting resolved. I will explain when I have time. It has been time crunching and gut wrenching at times which has been holding me back from my usual fitness and diet routines. 2 more parts to go and I hope to be all in again by the first of the year. In the meantime, it’s wonderful to see the progression in all parts of my life including these little losses on the scale. Thanks for your support everyone! I’m finding my way back slowly but surely!
10/16 …..208.2 ….. I was hoping for a bigger drop but I guess I should not get greedy. I am happy, overall, at the downward trend when I know I am not in a place to give 100% just yet. However, the dust will settle eventually! Yay on the continual improvement!
10/17 …..207.6 ….. This is great news for me! I have been lowering my portion sizes and choosing my snacks carefully. I am still not getting in enough movement, not logging consistently and not counting calories and carbs to the exact numbers. However, I am making the small changes here and there that is helping to make a difference. Life is still upside down for me, but I am tweaking what I can and staying committed in my mind and soul. That is the best I can hope for or do right now. The little changes make a difference, friends!
10/18 …..208.2 ….. I’m not sure exactly what happened. Small portions and pretty good choices. Probably the garlic bread. I noticed on my spoiler that I have lost (and made goal of ANY LOSS) the last 3 rounds. Striving to keep up the momentum.
10/19 …..207.4 ….. Wow! The ups & downs of a weight loss journey! I really watched my portions yesterday and had no bedtime snacks when watching late-night TV because I took my son out to a newly renovated restaurant in our town that now serves Pizza including Deep Dish Square Pizza. In this little town, that is a BIG DEAL. It was delicious even though it is not normally in my menu planning. My son and I ate JUST UNTIL we began to feel full and took the rest home for dinner later. Portion Control especially with “wrong foods” is ESSENTIAL. No snacks-payment for the Pizza. It greatly helped the scale this morning. I am so happy that it did not completely blow my progress. Social things will always occur…..I’ve just got to keep making those adjustments. Have a great week everyone!
10/20 …..207.0 ….. So….. last night, after having had a low calorie/carb dinner, I started munching small amounts of multiple things. Grazing really. I was convinced I was hungry. I am proud that I stopped myself, paid attention and realized that I was not full, but not hungry either. It was more in my head. Also cravings perhaps? I realized I didn’t really NEED more food. So I stopped. I’m not going to say it was easy to overrule my brain, but I stopped. I am so glad I was able to do that last night. What a NSV that was! The scale rewarded me this morning too!
10/21 …..206.2….. Come on 205!!!! I am sure these losses will level off at some point, but I am enjoying the fruits of my labor for as long as I can. I danced to one 4 minute song last night and I did one Fitness Marshall video workout (under 3 minutes) also. Hey, it is a start!
10/22 …..207.6….. Wow! A giant leap on the scale. I actually had a pretty good day except for the grilled cheese, tomato soup and 4 Ritz crackers. Very low cal breakfast and no lunch. A pound and a half???? Okay, I’ll make note of that and move on. I am also not drinking my water . Just so busy but I must make it a priority. Still making goal so far so I will take that as inspiration.
10/23 …..206.8 ….. Yay! I lost nearly 2 pounds. I had mistakes this round, but tried to remedy most of them with extra tweaks. I am on a roll with rounds ending in losses (no matter how small). This is not typical in autumn for me so I am thrilled. I will try to keep up the momentum!

1. Be under 209 - seems a bit drastic but I'm on an uptick so it's completely do-able.
2. Run/walk 15 miles with Tony (see profile pic)
3. Strength train 3 times.
4. Stretch/tone with Essentrics 3 times (check it out - I LOVE this program)
5. Be kind - be generous - laugh a lot - love my fellow human being, even if they cut me off in traffic.

- That's a WIN in my book!
- 2020
- Focus: maintenance! I might even manage to lose a bit more ever so slowly.
- (One good thing about Covid is that I don't have to traverse the minefield of family celebration meals.)

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

I'm in! Thank you, @GrandmaJackie!
70 year old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion... ...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.
We used to walk 5 miles a day. Recovered from back surgery then hip surgery!! Got back to walking then I sprained my ankle. UGH! I was down for 6 weeks with the ankle. Getting back to it slowly.
The Shelter in Place has everyone freaked. We need to remain calm and respectful of each other.

Yes, DD & SIL had exactly the same cuz of covid, only 1 parent and no swapping over during inpatiency. Only bending of rules was the night of actual op, 10 hours!, and following days whilst he was in intensive care. At least blood taking is easier after op as whilst in theatre they fitted line directly to his heart which they then and now use to draw, so there is no discomfort to him. But regarding parents, children NEED them BOTH there and as you say it makes it so easier for the little guys, surely with all the other procedures in place for covid that should be possible? Best wishes for you all. 🤗🤗😘😘2 -

▪10/14 - 206 - Everything has been askew. Sleep~not enough. Diet~not enough calories and too much bread. Yeah still eating it. It's like a drug, lol. If it wasn't for the bread, my intake would be, 500-600 calories a day. Not drinking enough water. Exercise ~ Non existent except for household chores, running errands, helping extended family. The weather is now in my favor, cooler. No allergens, excessive heat and humidity, which is horrible to my joints. I'll be able to get out for my walks again. I'll see what a month of consistent effort will do. I'm okay though. I know exactly what to do to get my weight back to where I want it to be. (Tu•~hrs) 75g carbs.
