    Of course, the diet of the deer for the month before it's converted into meat matters. The backstrap medallions I had were from a deer that had been browsing on field corn and windfall apples. That was a peak experience.

    Do not recommend eating deer that have been browsing on pine needles. Unless you like retsina.

    I've liked it any time I've had it. I'm just trying to imagine having to actually prepare any animal like that and puking could in theory, be on the table.
