    My amount is about $35.00.

Evidently, my wife's amount is in the neighborhood of $1,765.35.

That ratio seems about right to me.
    🤔😉

@Kickassamazon You've got them all. No more anywhere around your house. Vamoosh. Disappeared. You scared the bejeezus out 'em.

Oop, what was that?? Thought I saw something....

Haha I sure hope so! I didn't see anything! 😂

Three days! No mice in the traps!

    P A R T A Y

    Either you out of mice
    ...

Or the mice are on to you and are biding their time.

I'm going to hope for the first, and trap for the second! Haha

@Diatonic, wise words indeed. It took me awhile to place myself into the chitchat side of things because I didn't feel like I had much to contribute. I still don't most days but come here anyways. This whole forum is good serum for the soul; it gives you lots to laugh and think about and really helps you get to know a person much better(or as much as people can in these environments) therefore helps us to learn more about ourselves in the process.

I truly hope they keep the popular side of things here the same and not change it too much. As much as change can be liberating and a positive thing to experience, I stress out if change happens too quickly, as if life blindsides me and expects it all at once. Evidently, my history shows I can adapt, if done slowly, verryy slowly. Such as...this isn't so bad, give me another thing I can work into my brain and my life.
It would be nice if the new powers give all the people here some input. Send out surveys or something.

And @Motorsheen I thought that's the way every truly partnered relationship works? I'm pretty sure it was in the vows somewhere.

It's possible they'll wipe all of the forums out. Start over with a new business plan and a clean slate. I hope we get a survey. ;)

You have to look closely behind the curtain to see what's really going on. That's with everything you do and everywhere you go. Dig deep and swim through the sharky waters until you can see. 'Undercover Boss', good show. They find out what's really going on and where the rubber meets the road.

    Survey says.....

We have freedom to express ourselves now. If they take away all of the songs, movies, tiddlywinks and decorations, photos, selfies -all of the things, ways we express ourselves, I just can't think about it. A thought drifts by and a song blows through, a wind of photos and songs sweep us off our feet and we're back UP and running on all cylinders. That's just the way we tick.

We're birds of the same feather flying together. <3

I'm just speaking into the ethers. Nothing new there, just the uzhe way I roll.

Don't sell the place. Go out with a gain and a bang. The stock market is coming back like it always does. Wild swings UP and down, one big gambling casino. Tell them you're hanging on and once we get past this year and maybe another, the future looks bright.

Everyone is going to want a piece of this action. Stay the course. Keep the chitchat lights on. Hang in there. Do everything on your own terms. Take what you need from a bunch of different sources. Tell them the deal is off.

    There you go.

It's not bragging if it's true. I invested some money in the stock market. The banker says you need to get with so and so to figure out where it needs to go. I said, No, I don't. I do my all of my own thinking on my own terms. It's working out well for me and that's all I'll say about that.

So what was the point of that story. Cut out the dross and all of the things in the middle that are running you dry.
Drop it like it was hot. Go back to the well. Bare bones. Take it back to the roots.

Ok, except for one teeny tiny thing that's still making me sad/mad and witchy. I'm still seeing people not taking precautions and thinking the country's health is all just fine and dandy. So they do nothing to protect themselves/others. Meanwhile, this coming Christmas season will be so lonely without a house filled with family. Why? Because 2 of my dds live flying distance away and I'm not even sure our ds will come across the state. :(

There are 89 more positive Covid cases in our smallish rural state, all traced back to a hockey game. Why why why :( Dh told me I can't even go 20 minutes across the river to shop in a quaint little town because it's in a 'yellow' county. If I go, dh has to self-quarantine for 2 weeks. Majority of people are doing their best but it still doesn't make up the ones who don't care enough to follow guidelines.

If you don't murder to get meat, you'll have to destroy the environment to get plant-based foods. :s

MFP has been sold and will shortly be under new management.

The forums could conceivably go away.

I'm trying not to get too close to the new recruits.

It's like in Vietnam, you don't even want to know the names of the replacements, because odds are, their days and numbered and you want to avoid the emotional pain of losing them.

Will you miss me? .. I'll miss you 🙂

    Let's hope forums remain.

Where have all the flowers gone?
    Long time passing
Where have all the flowers gone?
    Long time ago
Where have all the flowers gone?
Girls have picked them every one
    When will they ever learn?
    When will they ever learn?

Oooo, don't tell me. I don't want to know.

Mama Told Me Not To Come

Will you have whiskey with your water
    Or sugar with your tea
    What are these crazy questions
    That they're asking of me

    This is the craziest party
    That there ever could be
Oh, don't turn on the light
'Cause I don't want to see

Mama told me not to come
Mama told me not to come
That ain't the way to have fun

    Open up the window
Let some air into this room
I think I'm almost choking from
    The smell of stale perfume
    And that cigarette you're smoking
'Bout to scare me half to death
    Open up the window sucka
    Let me catch my breath

    The radio is blasting,
    Someone's beating on the door
I'm looking at my MFP friends
They're passed out on the floor

    I seen so many things
    I ain't never seen before
I don't know what it is
But I don't wanna see no more

Mama told me not to come
Mama told me not to come
She said, that ain't the way to have fun
That ain't the way to have fun,
Mama told me, Mama told me, Mama told me
    Told me, told me....
